  1. What is everybodies view on killing the clock?

WEAK!!!. It's just plain weak. What a disgraceful embarassing way to win. I could not hold my head up with a win like that. (I'd rather bury it in the sand)

On the other side of the coin, one can say they do that in real hockey. Well, this ain't real hockey. It's a video game.

Play the game. Play a full 3 periods what ever the score is.

a win is a win though. gg

I give a "GG" to my opponent win or lose regardless of score. Not sure I can say GG after a garbage like that. Well maybe I could. (if my opponent had a vagina)

  2. the league schedule is too fast-paced to have guys with zero games played in the very first week of the season. teams with no games played after wednesday night can expect to be replaced. if you are busy, then you'd better let me know, but generally speaking, this isn't a place for busy people.

    Wow! I like this guy...

  3. Exciting games! Too bad the files were currupted :(

Games 1 and 2 used the camtasia codec but we felt a little lag due to my cpu usage. Tested out Divx and Xvid and both are CPU whores. Finally thought I had it nailed by using no compression but the 4 gig files ended up being corrupted when brought into Virtual Dub.

Does anyone know much about Camtasia and or Compression? Should we have a 3rd person join game 7 to record it?

Any tips for a lag free recording?

  4. Dmitri - I'm not sure how everyone else feels about it, but I'm really digging the way you limited the amount of regular seasons games you can play at a time. It prevents lop-sided stats and adds some tension to the playoff race.

I was thinking it might be cool to add the ability to build upon a coach's user stats by playing exhibition games. Some players play exhibition games anyways. I thought it’d be pretty cool if we can log them and track the stats.

You've done an excellent job here. Sorry about repeated posts asking for enhancements, but it just seems the possibilities are endless. Thanks again for all your hard work.

  5. Again, great work so far with the league. The stats are killer. Per our discussion here are a few more suggestions.

Here are some suggestions for additions.

    - Shooting % (Team/User)

    - Shooting % (Player)

    - One Timer Success Rate (Team/User)

    - One Timer Attempts per game

    - One Timers goals per game

    - Pass Completion per Game

    - Pass Attempts per Game

    - AVG Attack Zone time per game

    - AVG Opponent Attack Zone time per game

    - AVG penalty minutes per game (Team/User)

    - AVG Opponent’s penalty minutes per game

    - AVG Breakaways per Game

    - AVG Breakaway Goals per game

    - Body Checks per Game

    - Body Checks against per Game

Since there are TONS of stats, maybe break down the stats page into a “main stats” page and an “extended stats” page that shows everything.

Another idea: instead of putting point leader on top, put the AVG points per game Leader on top. (so Mr. Finish the season in 1 week doesn’t show up on the top of all the charts)

In addition to the records you spoke of maybe a leader’s board. At a glance, get some key leader stats on one page.

    - Top Point Leader

    - Top Goal Scorer

    - Top Assist

    - Top Differential

    - Top Shooting %

    - Top Save %

    - Top One Timer Man

    - Top One Timer %

    - Top Body Checker

    - Top AZ

    - Top Breakaways

    - Top Penalty Minutes

    - Top Power Play

    - Etc.

Just some ideas to toss around. Thanks Dmitri!

  6. There is a serious flaw that locks up the menu screen if you don't choose your teams before the top of the screen starts showing the players.

So, while that is being fixed you just have to select your teams quickly. Play with it and let me know if i messed up your lines or if there are other problems.

    the file is here http://65.36.133.56/nhl94_draft/GDL1_preseason.bin

The nhl94.net league had the same problem. We couldnt fix it

It was a minor issue. So we just selected the teams quickly. Worst case scenario we can do the same for this league.

  7. you are absolutely right, i sincerely apologize, first of all backhandfloater, i didnt mean to respond to you, i am an idiot, i am not forum savvy and i replied to you by accident obvioulsy, you were supporting my position and you were very polite. and i overreacted to hokeefan for whom my response was intended, i just got annoyed and reacted too quickly, but let's face it he is a dick

    apologies,

    rock on

It's all good in the hood my brotha. Peace.

  8. One goal that was extremely easy and frustrating was the slap shot. Without manual goalie control a good shooter could simply cross the blue line, wind it up and score. There was very little chance of stopping it. Slappers, combined with dekes, led to crazy high scoring games.

But nevertheless 92 was a fun game.

BTW: Why do people feel the need to have multiple identities?
