  1. There have been a lot of replacements during season 2 as the league searches for stability, and we have another replacent to announce: Hartford, (GoBlue2400 and Ranatoro) will be replacing, Vancouver (Hokkeefan and kgman).

Vancouver was a dynamic team, and a great tandem that could have done serious damage in the 2on2 league. They just couldn't find time to play. Hartford is a solid addition that's commited to completing the season. Pittsburgh finished their regular season matchup last night with the Whalers and all went well.

We also have the formal resignation of cr0ssbar. Fortunatelly we have a great player in IAmFleury'sHipCheck who should make an immediate impact in LA with HABS.

This is the zenith in terms of shakedowns, if anyone else has to drop the result will be FF's. I fell very confident with the current teams and think we can finish the regular season in a timely fashion.

I'm going to ask Evan if he can add a "Schedule A Game" section to assist everyone in seting up matchups.

  2. In my insatiable quest for all things '94 I've been looking for the same font used in the game; to no avail.

I've come across a few; "close but no cigars". Namely a font called "Joystix", and a commodore 64 one that had some similar characters, but neither are really the genuine thing.

So I decided to rip the characters from the game and make my own. Now, some characters are absent beacuse I could only use the ones that were in the game, still I managed to get the "necessities" if you will. All the #'s, uppercase and owercase are present. Most of the other ones too.

    Here's some styles.

  3. In all my illustrious NHLPA 93 career it's the first time I've ever seen this.

Though this did happen to HAB and I in a game of NHL 92 (pal version) the other day. Oddly enough it happened the exact same way: Pass from the boards, back in front for a shot to the right post.

  4. Gotta give props to the keyboard warriors. There are a few Gens dudes who rock with a keyboard, HABS being one.

For me playing on a keyboard feels unnatural, I'm completely out of my element.

If anyones going to be investing time into league play it's worth shelling out a few bills for even the most garden variety game pad.

  5. Associated 2on2 Press: Pens Crown Kings 5 - 3

Kevin Stevens Bobble Mullet night at Mellon Arena proved to be a resounding success in the Penguins 5 - 3 victory over the LA Kings.

The Pens continued firing on all cylinders demonstrating an unselfish "It's all about the W" mentality that catapulted them to 2on2 supremacy last season.

Even though Mario's French Canadian Army came out to support 66, everyone knew it was truly Stevens night as he got the Pens out the gate fast scoring only 44 seconds into regulation. But Stevens wasn't done there. He delivered the game winning goal, and gave the Ice crew some much needed exercise when Pens faithfull showered the ice with hats after his third goal.

Associated 2on2 Press: Kings surrender 10 at home to Pens losing 10 - 5

The high octane Penguins had a snare waiting for them when they arrived at The Great Western Forum after they handed the Kings their first loss of the season. But the trap proved to be a dud...

Continuing where they left off the undefeated Pens put on a goal clinic. Lemieux got the ball rolling 2 minuites into the 1st and never looked back...By the time the 2nd period expired patrons of the Great Western Forum were filing out to the tune of 7-2...The Pens added 3 more before the night was through.

While Lemieux registered 9 points, Stevens had 7 goals bolstering his league high 15 goals to 22.

Asked if they felt any added pressure being 4 wins away from a perfect regular season the Pens responded: "We dont think about it. If we just stay humble and work as a team everything else will fall into place."

  6. A post season highlight reel It's definately feasible (Gens). The 2on2 tournament uses a modified version of a version of Gens to capture save states during netplay in order to keep stats (dunno how it works, to convoluted for me to comprehend, props to Malachku). So to make a highlight reel of a league game, all you would have to do during a game is: go to instant replay after a goal and take a save state ( make sure you cycle through states to avoid over writing them). Once the games over load the save state in Gens movie maker and dump the avi.It might be possible to record a complete game during netplay with Gens movie maker. I'll experiment with it later.
  7. Perhaps this has something to do with depressing the pass button to long? Not sure, feels like it sometimes though.

    Forgot about..

    - Player skates like he's shot out of a cannon

Sometimes when a player gets brutaly checked. Gets back up and jams on the pass button to get back into the play. It's like he's jet propelled and flys around the rink at mach 3. Much to the ovation of rabid patrons.

  8. Can you elaborate on what you mean by, "new"?

Do you mean new, like new to netplay / emulators? Or new to the greatest game ever devised?

Mabye you should check out the player cards on Evan's main page for some tips if your new to the game.

Either way welcome to the forums.

  9. The 2on2 rom exhibits some funny and bizare glitches that only enhance 2on2's personality imo. If you encounter any that you feel deserve honorable mention, post em here.

    - Puck freezes at the goal line.

I've only seen this occur in the 2on2 rom, and only twice. Both times the puck eventualy went in after about 10 seconds.

    - Player star gets stuck on the goalie, and the player becomes a spectator until a stopage.

Most common of all the glitches.

    - Player transforms into a puck.

-Supinated or checked skater gets up magicly by pressing pass.

Injured player can also get up by pressing pass.
