Anyway, does anyone wanna help out? I'll do the rosters and banners if someone does the crease edits. Or we can just all sit here and keep creating "NHL 81" hacks with big blue creases on the ice. Up to you guys.

Thing is I might of helped you because I'm a big 93 fan, even though I'm not interested in this crease hack, but insulting me wasn't the way to go. I hope no one helps you but you might get lucky and find someone equally stupid.

Truth hurts. In case you havent noticed there hasnt been any progression on these "hacks" in years. Mabye me rattling the cages is what it will take to get things going.

Insulting people just because you think their roms aren’t 100% perfect isn’t going to encourage anyone.

I didn't make a 90/91 rom with a late 90's crease. The crease is from the original game - NHL 93. Early 90's I think you'll find. It's pretty obvious you meant me as you posted some of your stupid comments on my threads. I don't feel guilty about the crease hack as I couldn't care less about having the correct crease. I have a problem being called lazy and that my roms are lame by the likes of you who haven't done anything or seem incapable of doing anything by yourself.

What he said. I'm having trouble editing the game too, but I'm trying by myself now instead of begging people to spend hundreds of hours developing a new program that will make it easy for someone like you.
There is lot of info on this site for hacking these games. Just sheer laziness to expect someone to do all the work for you without making any attempt yourself. I think some people on this forum think that those who do contribute don’t have any personal life.
Anyone who has created a full rom and done it properly will know it takes a lot of time – personally I don’t like spending all this time for other peoples benefit then to called lazy just because I haven’t done something they want, especially when they haven’t contributed anything themselves.

Love WBOY and all, but I never understood why he just doesn't make a basic layout hack for the different era's. For example, a 90's crease, and 80's crease and a pre-80's crease rom. Then people could just use NOSE to do the rest, i.e. edit players etc. It'd be a lot easier then trying to explain in a 10-page essay how to change the crease. Don't you think? With his knowledge he should be able to do each crease fairly quickly, and then provide a download link. How bout it WBOY?
Sorry but I just can't play a "hack" of NHLPA 93 that's supposed to be, lets say, 1985, with a mid-90's crease. Doesn't work for me and I can't get into it.
Take it you are talking about my roms (they are 90 and 91 by the way not 85). If you don't like them I don't force you to play them. At least I have created some - what have you done?? Why don't you spend more time on this crease hack or try using that brain cell instead of relying on wboy? No wonder he gets pissed off with lazy ungrateful people like yourself.

First off - many thanks to slapshot67 for letting me use his rosters/player ratings from his NHL 94 rom version.
It is a 30 team rom with all the teams from all the Cups.
Features my new international banners. What do you think???? Thought I would try and be a bit creative.

Fatigue problem now sorted on NHL and RHL roms. Now availabe for download from the website.

Maybe I will just lower everyones endurance across the board.

A quick note before I head out - don't waste your time changing the endurance ratings. Figured out what the fatigue problem is. Will sort this out over the next few days.

Yes you can change the endurance if you want. However, this will effect the player ratings. I think I might have a bit play myself over the next couple of weeks and see if I can correct it without changing the ratings. I will post on here when I'm done. Please let me know what you think.

Lately ive been obsessed with your soviet league rom so Im expecting this to be awesome.
K just played and I noticed that none of the players seem to be getting fatigued.
I have 5 minute periods, line changes on...
but scoring line 1 never appears to be at anything less than full energy and therefore there is no need to change lines.
The computer only keeps scoring line 1 on the ice as well.
Noticed that the same thing happens in the final completed version of your soviet league rom.
I have noticed this problem myself when playing the Soviet game. Normally I play the game at 10 minutes because you get the most realistic stats, I only play 5 for a quick fix. So I think it works a bit better playing at 10 minutes but is probably still a bit of a problem.
It is because I work out the endurance of the players from the games they played that season. Whether this gives a good indication of a players endurance I'm not sure but I felt it gives a sort of idea and is better than just making a number up out of thin air. Anyway thats how I did it. In the Russian league the season is smaller so a lot of players played the full number of games so this is why they last so long without needing to change. Hopefully it won't be as much of an issue in the NHL one.
Maybe I might adjust the endurance ratings or will look into making the lines fatigue quicker which may be better. I think you can do this in 94 so should be able to do it in 93

Now have the correct banners for all the teams - see pic. Have reduced from the original (the one without banners) to 18 teams with 16 competing in the playoffs. Rom is now finished - hurrah.

Now completed this rom with working play-off draws, team intros (with strenghts + and weaknesses -) and team ratings. Team rating are worked out from the seasons stats so should give a good indication of the teams abilities - if anyone is bothered???.
By the way does any of the clever people who frequent this site know how to remove the old Home Adv rating? I have just set it as 0 but really just want it blank?

And actually, before doing any more hacks, I want to make an NHL94 hacking wiki... where I'll post everything i know about the internals of the game, and hopefully guys like wboy will add to it, and it'll spawn a golden age of NHL94 hacking!
Sounds cool. Have a few ideas of hacks that I would like to try and this would prove very useful

there is now a fix for the weight bug which works in at least NHL94 and I think the earlier games, too, though I have not tried them.
It does work in 93 as I have tried it

New NHL 93 rom – with banners
(Used wboy’s 30 team rom)Year: 1989-90 (21 teams+ 2 All Star teams)
Version 1 of the game. Might be a few mistakes as haven’t checked it all properly. Has everything but team introductions and correct playoffs (will follow shortly).
Please highlight any mistakes plus what you think of player ratings as I will use these as a basis for other roms. For the player ratings I have based them half on real attributes and half on the season’s stats so hopefully they give a realistic feel for the player and how he played that year compared to other ones.
Also does anyone have the All Star team line-ups for this year?? I think I might be missing one or two players?

Wow – it’s fantastic to finally have an editable version of 93. Just like to say thanks wboy for all your hard work.
One problem I am having is: Run time error 9 when I am trying to select from the color browser. Anyone else having this problem? Any way to fix this?

Don't lie I did not insult you first. You said a lot of crap on my posts. If you don't like peoples work I suggest you keep it to yourself. Like I said before insulting people is never going to inspire anyone to help.
To follow what Matthurray said - nobody does this for money - just in what little spare time they have. I also work but have still managed to create quite a few roms - I don't have time to add every single hack. Not sure why you say you work and don't have any time but expect everybody else to do this full-time (I think everybody on this forum is of an age where they are working full-time). If you actually have a go at doing one properly you will realise they are quite time-consuming. Then you might be more understanding.
I don't think any of the top people on this forum put anyone down if they don't understand. They just want you to see you have a go first rather than expecting them to do it all for you. Someone will do this hack you just have to be patient (or make Matthurray an offer of cash). Criticizing and insulting others is probably why there is not much new stuff going on.
