  1. hey man when will u be available for our series? I should be on tonight from like 7 on so just let me know when works for you

Hey man. I won't be on tonight, but will be available after 5PM on Tuesday, Wed, Thurs. I'm gonna pull a Jrod and request P2P!

  2. Refs are getting worse in all sports. I thought refs were the best in the late 90s when no sport had replays and these stupid challenges--the sports world seemed like a much calmer place. Football refs have been atrocious lately--this has to be the highest penalized year ever---you can't touch the qb, you can't touch players when they go out of bounds, you can't spike the ball. It's unreal. And I agree.....pass interference is a game changing penalty--the offense clearly has the advantage while the defense is helpless. Brady or Manning can just chuck up a 50 yd pass and there's a good chance they'll get a call if they start whining--Manning is the biggest crybaby in the NFL, and Brady is following in his footsteps

I remember the NFL playoffs back in 2005 when the refs reversed obvious Troy Polamalu's int against the Colts, simply cuz the refs wanted Manning to go to the Super Bowl. The Seahawks then got totally got screwed in the Super Bowl that year by some lousy refereeing.

  3. hey sebe

I've been wanting to finish up my games the past several days, but unfortunately the schedules haven't worked out--- Weeknights 5PM and after are the only available times for me. It's pretty tough for me to play after midnight on a weekday. I was around for much of Saturday and Sunday. I went out to dinner tonight and must have just missed you.

  4. Looks like it's gonna probably be

mtl vs van in gens A finals

and buf vs det in gens b finals

Based on results, these are the best teams in the gm!

Trying to jinx me, lol? Since I like a fast paced offensive game, my top 4 are self explanatory. I don't play well with MTL, but I can't find a team at no. 5 to match their depth(maybe Calgary) plus their goaltending. MTL can go on massive scoring droughts as they lack breakaway speed and shot power. Outside of Muller there are few effective shooters who are light weights. Lebeau's shot is in the 50s with Savard in the low 60s

    1A Detroit

    1B Chicago

    3. Vancouver

    4. Buffalo

    5. Montreal

    6. Calgary

    7. Quebec

  5. Kgman: +800—the best playoff performer ever, the question is, how interested will he be in the regular season? And why get rid of Gartner to obtain the guy with the most inaccurate shot in nhl94, Modano? Not sure what’s up his sleeve this year, but a disappointing finish against Ice in the playoffs last season might have rekindled that championship fever. Not good news for the rest of the league.

Kgman + 800 are you insane i would put 100 dollars in a nanosec. funny Ice and Swos have been rated higher than but in preseason testing Kgman has destroyed both losin a combined 2 games out of 14. A little disapointed with my write up (kg bias!) but other than that you have my vote for best write up of the year quite the journalistic feat. I would hope you have more of these up your sleeve along with specific awards named after coaches. IE AJ Richard trophy for most goals in reg season. OR KG Hart trophy for best playoff performer which could go to finalist as well if they had tougher raod to finals and weaker team! .....GO JETS GO!!

On a cold, snowy day way way back in February, this man felt disrespected and was fuming behind his computer. Several months later after all the dust, anger, and ice has settled, he's back in the finals again and trying for a dynasty, but it won't be easy against a stingy TB team. Congrats to you and jrod for drafting these teams--it should be a great defensive war.

I've been getting requests for GDL7 odds, and they should be back once drafting is complete.

How bout some awards for GDL 6?

Best team: NYR--Sakic, Gartner, Damphousse, Leetch, Essensa... Maybe the greatest team ever assembled?-it's too bad this team never sniffed the playoffs

Coach of the year: Boknows94--I had Philly at +4000 and a poor supporting cast surrounding Gilmour. He managed to squeak out a 2 seed in his conference so, that's getting it done. This pick is up for debate, lots of solid choices out there

Best all around coach--Statistically it's Icestorm, he's the only coach in the top 5 in both offense and defense. 5th in offense and 3rd in defense

MVP: Mark Recchi. Honorable mention to Patrick Roy

Biggest Overachiever: Dale Hawerchuck--82 goals and 47 assists Who would have thought this??!!

Feel free to add your picks, awards, and thoughts about the season. Peace and see u in gdl7

  6. It's hard to put numbers on this thing now with all the new coaches in--I'll leave that up to someone else, but:

With AJ out of the mix, it looks like that once narrow window of opportunity has now widened just enough for some other coaches to make a run at the cup. I have never played Gr81 and jrodimus in tournament play, but history shows they were significant players as well---those players aren't returning either. This is a great opportunity for those talented coaches who have always been denied the most prestigious grand slam to finally cash in.

Freydey seems to have improved his game greatly this past year-- Some gutsy manual goalie techniques and entertaining fast paced play enabled him to take out the Blackhawks in classic A league playoffs--gotta give him props. He has a formidable roster with a gamebreaker in Selanne plus Courtnall, Bourque, and some solid role players. I would keep an eye on him.

Classic league champ FPB got some redemption from his draft day disaster as he switched rosters--and obtained a MUCH deeper unit with some balanced scoring-- I think his chances of making a playoff run are vastly improved.

I think snoboarder's odds should be better now too--the numbers he put up in spring classic lg was 2007 Pats like--simply staggering. Although I am not a huge fan of Fleury and his current GDL roster, Carse coached Boston to a 25-3 record in A league-- I think that's pretty sick. I also think that sebe, habs, and icestorm will continue to be in the mix as they have always been serious contenders--anyone of these guys can win any series on any given day. My money is on swos though--he has proven to be too good with that roster.

  7. Congrats to both of you guys. I thought it was inevitable that Boston and Chicago would meet for a chance at the cup based on their solid season performance play. The fact that this game is so unpredictable is what makes these playoffs so awesome. I can't wait for the Fall Classic--these playoffs were amazing!
