Alright Optimus, let me get this straight, you can't even play games online? You should be the last guy talking trash on these threads if you can't even participate.
Here's some words to live by "Don't be a tool if you can't be cool".
ooh, I suck because I can't play online? yeah. I'm not going to go out and buy a computer just to play a game I have on a real system.... yeah, whatever, fool. I'm not the loser, here. come by and show me how well you play, in person.
-
Yeah SNES is so good that when you do check someone it sounds like a porno tape.. "uhh" or if you groan out your nose..
Come play Genesis with us boy- you'll go back to the safety of SNES in about 5 minutes.
I can't do online play, but I've played enough Genesis to know that I'll take the worse sound over the worse gameplay. it's all about player, stick and puck control, buddy. you stay there and I'll stay here. good.

ooh! I've got one! here we go:
NHL '94 on the Genesis!
hahahahahahahaha!
that was great.
-
um...
...what?
-
-
it can make sense to pull the superstar goalie. fast goalies get faked out too quick. a slower goalie may let in less goals by "the move."
-
what?! maybe I need to play Genesis' '93 again, but in the SNES version the skaters have one-legged semi-circle bursts of skating. is that not how the Genesis version is? [makes a plan]....there's no difference i can see in how the players skate.... -
what did you like better about '93? is it the semi circle skating? it makes every player seem like an amateur who can't skate with any level of strength or skill. '94 is CLEARLY better. have you played the SNES '94? talk about play control! it still amazes me to this day. like once per month I will pull off a move and declare "that is EXACTLY what I was trying to do! how often do you get the feeling of PERFECTION in the movement of an athlete in video games? new madden games come close, but this game is TRULY AMAZING. again, what do you like better about '93?
-
can one button replace the hold for goalie action that Genesis suffers from? s h i t, I'd rather have to hold down pass than hold down switch to goalie. worst sports game flaw ever. most frustrating experience in all of life. hold for goalie killed my mother.

have anybody here tried to score as many goals against compute as possible in 10 minute periods? Do u think that ove 60 goals would be possible to score..?
I have scored around 110 in 20 on SNES multiple times. pull the goalie so when they break it gets back to the faceoff center quickly (goal against). also, make sure the teams extra player isn't already on the ice or someone will go to the box (!?!). average one goal every thirty seconds and it can be done. I think my highest was 111, but it was at least that. I don't think I could come close on the Genesis. I should try, though.

it is possible to lose to the computer on a Genesis. it is not possible on a Super Nintendo.
-
depends. Toronto and Montreal are so deep, that if subbing is on, they get the nods. if you only play with six players per team, Boston is fine. if you have penalties on, some guys with high aggression ratings "hurt" (I like being down one player, but not two!) the team. so many variables.
SNES
New York
Chicago
Los Angeles
Vancouver
Toronto
Montreal
Calgary
Boston
Detroit
too many options and variables.
-
what team is Kasper on?
-
huh. I guess I'm not convinced that the AI gets harder (it doesn't do this on the SNES version, I promise). thanks for the description, if you ever get a video of said phenomenon, I'd like to see it. stay smiling.
-
oh, and please post a video of said phenomenon. thanks!

Well on the cartridge you play as one team (you can be any of the six players at a given time) against the computer. It's the same on the emulator...right? ( I hardly ever play the emulator) But this cartridge we have for the genesis is EVIL!!!! It's Evan's original cartridge (the first ever 94 he got). It doesn't keep records anymore, and it goes into what Evan and I lovingly call "MODE." Which is to say that no matter what team you are if you are playing the computer (no matter who the computer is) they put down defense that would make the Devils look like they are offensive machines!
please describe this in greater detail. anybody else have similar results?
-
I can't ROM. thanks, though.
-
only five goals with Smyth?
I like playing games where he's the only one allowed to shoot. that plus goalie pulled (plus all scrubs) equals a loss.
-
Greg Smyth.
-
if somebody could put up links to such gear, that'd be great. I have trouble navigating the instructions of emulator setup, so direct links are very helpful. if it isn't appropriate for this board, a PM would be sweet. thanks!
-
wow! that guy is a rambling idiot!
keep touching your fingertips to your face, pal; the zits will be there soon enough.
glad I don't play in your online drama league.
-
did the one-timers only thing and managed to lose one game (as New York; I forget who to, it was last week) in the playoffs. so, one out of seventeen is okay. next time, a shittier team.

[edit: anybody except Jeff; he'd probably throw the controller and cry]
HERE IT IS.

well, I've done it before and I guess I need to do it again.
for you Genessisies: get out your Speak-And-Spell and your Crybaby-to-English dictionaries, because I don't want you to claim you didn't understand this.
the following is why the SNES NHL '94 is supremely better than the Genesis NHL '94.
Genesis pluses:
-line changes fatigue bars reflect substitutions made (not just original lineups).
-battery for records
SNES pluses:
-line change button has only one use -- line changes.
-instant goalie control with the simple press of a button
-instant right defenseman control with the simple press of a button
-instant left defenseman control with the simple press of a button
-players are not on two teams at once
-more precise puck/stick control
-more precise skating control
-instant stand-fallen-player-up control with the simple press of a button
feel free to say that the Genesis version of NHL '93 is better than the SNES version of NHL '93, because that is tru
(I could itemize that for you, too, but I don't want to overwhelm you with the truth).
feel free to say that the Genesis NHL '92 is better than the SNES NHL '93 (again, it's tru), but for the sake of your own appearances, folks,
please don't ever say that the Genesis version of NHL '94 is better than the SNES version of NHL '94.
thank you.
stay smiling.
soon.
