I'm available all night tonight, starting at about 7:30pm EST. Would like to get these games done...
I got on around 9 pm est tonight but I haven't been seeing Monkeyjuice around at all for the past couple days.

Still think it would be fun to track injuries for the upcoming season. It would take a little extra effort from all coaches but would be cool if everyone was on board.
I know it would probably be a very manual process, however, I would be willing to step up to do it.

J, extremely entertaining to read through and love the analysis. I don't think you focused enough on your offensive super power of your front 3 as you should have. Take your pick on your go to guy in that squad. Series going 7 I would agree with... outcome though, I think it's a toss up. But your modesty is noted.
I think you also forgot to mention that you can expect Hartford to cross crease at every chance. Stop that and I predict Ottawa in 4.

Sorry guys, didn't know the forums were going to be on fire today. I've been on here for the past 2 days and didn't see much activity. I would prefer to get these 2 games in before moving forward... not to be difficult but I want to finish them regardless and would like to have some closure on the regular season before moving to the playoffs.
Since AngryJ can't play before Friday, it looks like there's a couple days for DMAC, AddisonbrNHL (the new and improved) or whatever other person wants to play for Toronto. I really don't care who it is... I just want someone to help me finish my season.
Whatever happens, when Friday morning comes, Jay and I will play our series with the standings as is.

Skool, I think we can all agree that the conferences were a little lopsided. However, I think since this draft league is so new, it's a live and learn process. I'm sure that there will be some modifications so that there isn't such a discrepancy in the future. But you have to just shake it off. You're still one of the top coaches and I hope to see you around for next season.

It's disappointing that a guy like Pilon, who has been involved in league play before, has decided to go MIA. Is dmac the final decision as the replacement Toronto coach? I just want to get these last 2 games finished.
And dmac, if you are the coach, get yo green ass online so we can play. Welcome to the league. Better late than never.

I look forward to the first round of the playoffs against such a formidable opponent as AngryJay. I have a feeling that it will be a grueling series drenched in a bloodbath of offense. Good luck to you man!

When you go online to set up a game, does it matter what server you pick? Are there prefered ones?
It depends where people are located. You typically want to use a server that's closest b/w the 2 players. Through my experience, most people use SCD or Daroms.

Hey Jesus, is there a way to get a sprite where the goalie is flashing his glove out to the side? That is, in the way he might use his glove to swipe a slap shot out of the air? If it's too much trouble, don't worry. If you can do it, would love to see a Belfour at home one of those.

Tomorrow is not great, but Friday/Saturday/Sunday early-to-mid evenings are okay. I can probably squeeze something in mid-day during the week, but not the weekend.
I'm good with any of these, how about everyone else?

sorry man, i don't see habs anywhere. I think he got addicted to online Go-Fish last I heard. Next time you check in, just reply with some times that would work for you and we'll go from there. I'm flexible on times.

No problem man. We'll get those games in this weekend. Just to give you the heads up, I'm not going to be available during football playoffs and Sat night I have to door over at this bar so that will eat up all of that night. Sat earlier on or Sunday early evening will probably work best. Take care.

D and everyone, I'm sorry, I was out over the holidays and ever since New Year's, I've been really sick. If anyone is looking for games from me, I will be around starting at about 5 or 6 pm (central time). I'll get this finished up. Sorry everyone for the delay.

Here is some of the lingo I used to use back in the day...
Fumble – This is where the goalie appears to make the save. Then shortly after the “active player star†flickers quickly and a goal is scored. This usually happens when the goalie’s back is to the post, but can happen anywhere in the crease. (example: Belfour fumbles yet again!)
Typewriter Style - Not necessarily a NHL 94 term but used to describe a players technique for holding a control pad where the index finger and middle finger are used on the right hand for the A, B, C buttons.
Fat Finger - Used to describe a telegraphed one timer that was obviously missed due to slow fingers. (example: You would have won that in OT if you didnt fat finger that last one.)
Ram – This is the dirty cheese dick tactic of nudging, pushing, checking your goalie into the post forcing the opposing goalie to fumble the puck into the net.

BHF, I enjoyed all those, very well done, especially the Fat Finger (hilarious). In my world, the Fumble is known as the Flutter Bug b/c of the goalie's actions to take control of the puck like he's swatting at a bug. I never really cared for our name though, especially b/c I was typically had the team with the spaz goaltender.
We also had a couple others:
No-Move: When your offender is fading across the crease on a breakaway and flicks a wristshot in the opposite upper 90 without even having to move his stick.
No-No-Move: The classic coming in at the angle to bring the puck back to stick in the near corner, however, not even having to shoot b/c the goalie knocks you down. In other words, the momentum of your guy knocks the goalie out of position and the puck slides in.

the draft league will remain the same except for possible expansion and schedule and division alignment changes
a 2007 league would only take a day or two to set up, but when i mentioned it before there wasn't much interest.
I would like to second BHF comment with a big thank you to Dmitri. I'm not only impressed with his workmanship on this league but how many guys out there can you honestly say have his gf man his forum when he's not available? I'm impressed on all levels.
Dmitri, can you set up a girlfriend training tutorial as well? ;-)

Dmac and I finished up tonight. The guy has got a lot of raw talent for being new to the game. I see him definitely making strides sooner than later in the same fashion as KingsCup, DaDonche and jj2k. Great job to the new guys for sticking with it! And most of all, thank you to Dmitri for putting this together!
