  1. I voted 4 minutes personally, but 3 minutes would be okay for me. I deffinetly think a longer penalty should be given. I'd almost prefer 3 because the periods are only 5, but 4 would add some interesting gameplay. Adds a bit more depth to the game when you have to kill a penalty for that amount of time.

  2. Despite being in a very physical hockey league, i've avoided injury for a long time. The worst one i've gotten was thought to be a serious injury to the shoulder, but it turned out it was a small sprain to a joint and I was cleared to go in a week. I'm suprisingly injury resilient. I've gotten stiched to my head 7 times from various accidents, one hockey related (playing without a helmet, slashed in the top of the head (accidental, thankfully) ) but none have caused any long term or even short term damage. A trip to the hospital, and I'd be back on the field or on the ice as soon as I got back.

    Basically i'm invincible .

  3. Excelent writeup Fenty. I have to agree with him, i've been in the playoffs 3 times in my 3 seasons now, and to be honest, the first two was not even close to being a friendly series. It's not like I or my opponent were insulting eachother, but there was just a thick cloud of determination and seriousness in the air, and not a single joke was made basically. Pretty much the same for my second playoff run. But this time, even in the stanley cup final, there was laughs all around, all up to the final whistle of the season. Even when I was down 3-0 in the last game, or when Fenty was down 4-0 in the sixth game, we were both cracking jokes and laughing during the entire thing. I come away from the series not even feeling frustrated, as it was a great series, which is what I had hoped for going into it.

Fenty, you are officially my favorite person to play.

    Me: Dino =D!

*10 seconds later after Dino scores 2 goals in a relatively short period to tie it up*

*McSorely hammers Dino and puts him out for the period*

    Fenty: =D

One of the many fun moments throughout the series. We were both cursing and laughing at the home ice advantage throughout the series as well. When I went down 3-0 in the last game, my words were:

    "Friggen home ice"

I have to say, what a finish to that game. I came back just barely, and then even had a few chances to put it away, but in the end Fenty put the puck in with his slick skating, and I can't feel bad about it, it was a nice goal.

GGs, in closing. A great end to a fantastic season.

  4. DET 0 LA 4

    DET 1 LA 3

    LA 4 DET 5

    LA 2 DET 5

    DET 3 LA 4 OT

    LA 0 DET 5

    DET 3 LA 4

Fenty is this seasons Stanley Cup Champion. Congrats on a great series, which had a 100% complete home-ice advantage curse.

  5. I'd be in, as my 360 gets here in 2-4 weeks. I have borrowed a friends, and have been playing my copy of 08 like mad. I have to say, EA has made a fantastic game. Dare I say it, it's better than 94 in the sense that it's very realistic. The AI is great, I have the Leafs in dynasty mode, and although i'm something like 18-5-1, EVERY game has been insanely close.

  6. I don't know what you guys are on about, I like the way hockey is right now. The games don't need to be high scoring for them to be exciting. Hell, look at soccer. The games are longer and even more low scoring, and the fan base is insane. Goalies equipment is fine, net size is fine, everything is fine. I love watching hockey the way it is.

  7. I started up a game in SNES, playing as Detroit vs All Stars. The way I was playing, I was taking control of the goalie whenever they got control of the puck on my half of the ice, and making at least 5 passes before shooting. After 3 hard periods, the score was deadlocked at 2-2, and overtime bagan. With the game on the line, Cheveldae is all that stands between 3 All Stars breaking in and the net. The save he makes there is the first of many...

    Tim Cheveldae - Unstoppable

Tim Cheveldae saved 32 shots in the first 3 periods, allowing only two goals. In overtime, he made 22 saves, 21-ish of which are show on the video. Chevy showed his resilience by making desperation saves left and right.

Yzerman eventually potted the winner off of a nice setup by Federov. Just to recap, Tim Cheveldae had 54 saves on 56 shots for a 96.4 save percentage. Most of the saves in regulation were standard saves, with the occaisional dive. However, Overtime was basically ALL diving saves. The only ones that weren't were usually the initial shot, then Chevy would make the dive on the rebound.

EDIT - If you're wondering why some saves were on bottom of screen, some on top, it's because there was two overtime periods

  8. Well said. Jewish is one hell of a player, don't let the record fool you. I think the biggest problem for him was adjusting to Montreal, which isn't the best fit for a player of his style, but I can see him rebounding into a decent spot in the standings.

Best of luck to you Jewish.

  9. Jay speaks the truth. Every one of my wins was by one goal, and it could have easily went the other way. Then look at HIS wins. By at least 3 goals, including one by 5 goals (quite a spanking). Those ones I was simply outplayed.
