  1. Jer, I need to you to have a look at your roster please. Ive been through the Blitz Average Draft Positions & I make it that your roster is broken up as below. Ken Daneyko comes in at pick 239 on average so he wouldn't be a tier 2 player. Please select your roster again. NEW JERSEY DEVILS Tier 1 players: Scott Stevens Tier 2 players: Stephane Richer,Kasatonov, Fetisov Tier 3 players: Claude Lemieux, Terreri Tier 4 players: Semak, Statsny, Zelepukin, Holik, MacLean, Nicholls, Barr, Pellerin, Guerin, Chorske, Ojanen, McKay, Mallette, Driver, Neidermayer, Albelin, Daneyko, O'Connor, Billington
  2. Interesting choice. Probably just enough to be competitive here but then lots of scope for making major improvements in the midseason trade/draft period. Welcome to the league jer!
  3. Looking at the last screen shot i'm guessing the problem originates from this being a spanish language computer?
  4. Having loads of problems getting tile molester to run. Clockwise sorted out the java downloads I needed but the tile molester download shows in my folder as a winrar file. When I try to open it i get a message about a language file not being present. No idea what the problem is. Anyone smarter than me have an ideas? I am using windows 7 starter & its a spanish language computer
  5. OK guys. We have 6 confirmed & counting. Attached is the Weight Bug Fixed Classic rom so you can start exhibition games with the new dynamic of the heavy players being more influential. Play some games with your selected team so you can get a feel for which players you want to keep for the season & which you're happy to release. YOU'LL BE SURPRISED AT PLAYERS WITH LOW OVERALL SCORES BUT WHO ARE VERY USEFUL WITH THE WEIGHT BUG FIX, SO DON'T TAKE YOUR SELECTIONS LIGHTLY. You can find detailed stats on every player in the game at the Blitz website: http://blitz94.com/draftab/viewplayers.asp The same information is also contained in an Excell file which you'll see on the Blitz website. Probob will be joining me in the commissioner duties so you can hit him up for help too. Basically this is how it works: You need to cut your roster to 6 forwards, 5 defenders & 2 goaltenders. Your selections are limited by the skill cap rules. You'll need to select the players that fit your desired style of play, or perhaps you'll be forced to make tough decisions in order to maintain team balance. In some cases you won't have much choice. You have 4 options for selecting your roster: 1) "THE SICARIUS": 2 x Tier 1 players, 2 x Tier 2 players, 2 x Tier 3 players + Tier 4 players to complete the roster or 2) "THE FREYDEY": 1 x Tier 1 players, 3 x Tier 2 players, 3 x Tier 3 players + Tier 4 players to complete the roster or 3) "THE PLABAX": 0 x Tier 1 players, 4 x Tier 2 players, 4 x Tier 3 players + Tier 4 players to complete the roster or 4) "THE KINGRAPH": 3 x Tier 1 players, 0 x Tier 2 players, 1 x Tier 3 players + Tier 4 players to complete the roster Decide what suits your style, or your roster best. You'll notice below that Chicago posesses 4 Tier 1 players and only 1 Tier 2 player & 1 Tier 3 player, so option 4 might be the best for them. A team like Calgary which I used as a previous example posess no Tier 1 players but a bunch of Tier 2 & 3 players, so option 3 would likely be best for them. You will also be influenced at this initial stage by the needs of the roster. You have to have 2 goalies, and right now there is no option to draft new players, so you have to accept what you've got. The Boston Bruins have two Tier 3 goalies............sorry TexasPachyDerm, you gotta take em both until the first trade/draft window so that's 2 Tier 3 spots used up straight away. Special exceptions: If enough players are not available in a specific tier you can select an extra player from the tier below, so Boston for example only have 1 player in Tier 2. If TexasPachyDerm selects option 1 to structure his roster he can select 1 x Tier 2 players & 3 x Tier 3 players rather than 2 x Tier 2 players & 2 x Tier 3 players. All the rosters of the selected teams are below, along with the player tierings. Make your selections & post them below & Probob & I will check to make sure it all fits into the system. Any questions, doubts or guidance required just post in this thread or contact me or Probob. GLHF! WBFClassic.bin
  6. Cool, cool, cool. Great team picks guys. PITT is a poor team in Classic with the weight bug - Awesome team after the weight bug fix. Boston is average in classic - Devastating after fix with Neely dominant & Bourque contender for best player in the game. Chicago benefit from Smith's weight as do Detroit with Coffey & Probert. LA get the best out of Sandstrom & Blake. Good stuff. Waiting for a team from Skip & just to see what the word is from Jer & SoCal but I think 6 is a nice number for the inaugural season of a noob league anyway. Will wait on Skip but maybe tonight i'll post a new thread so you guys can start cutting your rosters. There will still be time for anyone else to sign up anyway. Plan will be: 1) Experiment with your teams using the weight bug fixed rom (I will post the rom tonight) 2) Cut rosters 3) Make a rough exhib/preseason rom to test rosters & make changes as desired 4) Final rom & preseason exhibs through December 5) start in January
  7. You're in...................................now all you have to do is run through the girls' dorm naked after we all massage muscle rub heat cream into your balls & hit you over the head with a dildo that we've all rubbed onto our butts...................but we're not gay or nothing. What team do you want?
  8. Current confirmed players & teams. Will be a small league so only looking for a couple more. Even 1 will do for season 1 CURRENTLY CONFIRMED: SKIP - LABS66 - PITTSBURGH PENGUINS DARKO99 - LUPZ27 - LA KINGS
  9. Relax. Really simple: The weight bug was a problem in the original game. All the heavy players are soft as s**t (Can't hit, get knocked down easy). It means a team like Pittsburgh that should be great with it's Jagr, Lemieux, Stevens line is actually horrible because they spend most of the time on their arses. Also, big D men with poor puck skills were completely useless as they couldn't do anything in possession & couldn't knock anyone down. You 've probably noticed in Classic how teams like PITT & NYR which should be great are hard to use. The weight bug fix by Smozoma basically put that right. Now the little skilled guys can be handled by the big guys, but also skillful big guys like Lemieux, Messier, Jagr, Bourque to name just a few become awesome players. Also, those big goons taht you wouldn't touch in the classic rom become useful options on D because of their size. That's all it is. We're just saying that this league will use the fixed version of the rom so that those heavy guys are useful. Don't worry. Seems like a lot of info for you new guys, but all will be very simple & clear when we get things moving.
  10. Basically it just means the heavy guys can hit & stay on their feet too unlike in classic so almost all the teams have their merits. Teams like NYI or NJ or EDM that maybe aren't up to much as a classic team become very handy & PITT & NYR become the teams they should be for example. Top players like Mario, Messier, Lindros, Neely and also big dmen who maybe dont have the best ability are sought after commodoties. Basically pretty much any team you want aside from the expansion teams is not gonna be terrible with WBF. You still know who the obvious power teams are.
  11. Don't worry. It's a lot less complicated & intimidating than i've made it look lol. Can you 4 guys & anyone else that confirms from here on in just post which team you'd like. I'll then identify the different tiered players on the rosters & start a seperate thread that deals with cutting the roster down.
  12. The above post looks very complicated as it has every thing in detail. The important thing would be that I know the steps. In reality it would be very easy. 1st pick your team & i'll tell you which tier each player falls into. Then i'll give you 3 options to cut your roster to: Two tier 1s, two tier 2s, two tier 3s Or One tier 1, three tier 2s, three tier 3s Or No tier 1s, four tier 2s, four tier 3s You pick your players from that & then you're ready to go. All the other stuff you're getting bogged down with (I get that noobs will get confused by it all too) is actuqlly just the stuff the commish will be concerned with
  13. CURRENTLY CONFIRMED: SKIP - LABS66 - PITTSBURGH PENGUINS DARKO99 - DETROIT REDWINGS LUPZ27 - LA KINGS TEXASPACHYDERM - BOSTON BRUINS JAGR68 - CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS I've had an idea for a league for a while now. I mentioned it on the forums about a month ago or something. It's kinda similar to TDL but not the same. I was waiting for TDL to finish before putting it forward but then I got to thinking: There are several noobs in this seasons GENS classic B who are showing great commitment to the league & the game. I wanna put this forward to them as an option to continue league play when classic finishes so that they can stay involved in the community & keep developing their skills. I also wanna open it up to guys in Classic A who's records aren't that strong & probably weren't quite ready to be going up against the likes of King & Depch etc. Realistically they were never in it to compete at the top end, which everyone should have a chance to do really. As discussed in other posts, losing to better players is a great way to improve your game, but winning games & feeling like you have a shot at a title is great for motivation. So here's the list of guys i'd like to invite based on their games played records in the current classic tournament & their reputation in the community i.e. not causing problems/issues. If other guys would like to get involved they need to up their games played & show they're reliable. If guys of a higher level like the idea, which i'm going to outline below, we can look at maybe a "B" standard league & possibly an "A" standard league although with the commitment levels in A now I think that's unlikely. Idea will be to set up over the next month or so & start in the new year, so should be well after classic & TDL finish. INVITES: JER33 LABS66 (After he's just swept me tonight!) SKIP TEXASPACHYDERM LUPZ27 DARKO SOCALKING Just post below guys if you're interested, & others can express interest. GENS SKILL CAP DYNASTY LEAGUE - STRUCTURE/CONCEPT Rom - Weight bug fixed classic. Full fix. Not weight bug reverse 5 minute periods Penalties on, no offsides No line changes League season including midseason draft/trade period + playoffs 4 season max career for every player (After 4 seasons player must sit out a season before being available to draft again) PLAYER TIERING SYSTEM All players in the game will be "tiered" depending on their Blitz draft history. I am certainly open to moving the lines that separate the tiers if people don't agree. Players will be categorised as tier 1,2,3 or 4 as follows: TIER 1 PLAYERS: FORWARDS: Pick 6 (Mario Lemieux) to pick 27 (Russ Courtnall) DEFENSMEN: Pick 9.8 (Ray Bourque) to pick 56 (Steve Smith) GOALIES: Pick 11 (Roy) to pick 59 (Barrasso) TIER 2 PLAYERS: FORWARDS: Pick 30 (Fedorov) to pick 79 (Ronning) DEFENSMEN: Pick 57 (Larry Murphy) to pick 82.8 (Jeff Brown) GOALIES: Pick 60 (Ranford) to pick 71.6 (Cheveldae) TIER 3 PLAYERS: FORWARDS: Pick 82 (Andreychuk) to pick 132 (Gagner) DEFENSMEN: Pick 83.6 (Fetisov) to pick 169 (Lumme) GOALIES: Pick 76 (McClean) to pick 113 (Casey) TIER 4 PLAYERS: FORWARDS: All fowards from pick 138 (Momesso) & below DEFENSMEN: All defensmen from pick 171 (Murzyn) & below GOALIES: All goalies from pick 135.6 (Hrudey) & below HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick a classic team - For this example i'll use LA Kings 2. Cut the roster based on the following structure: 6 forwards, 5 defenders, 2 goalies comprised from: Two tier 1 players, Two tier 2 players, Two tier 3 players, Roster completed with no player above tier 4 LA EXAMPLE: FORWARDS: Sandstrom (Tier 1), Carson (Tier 2), Granato (Tier 3), Kurri (Tier 4), Donnelly (Tier 4), Millen (Tier 4) DROPPED: Gretzky (Tier 2), Robitaille (Tier 2), Taylor, Loach, Conacher, Rychel, Shuchuk (All tier 4) DEFENDERS: Blake (Tier 1), McSorley (Tier 2), Zhitnik (Tier 3), Sydor (Tier 4), Huddy (Tier 4) DROPPED: Hardy, Thompson, Watters, Chapdelaine (All tier 4) GOALIES: Hrudey, Stauber (Both Tier 4) DROPPED: Knickle (Tier 4) If I want to or if I have a team with just 1 or no tier 1 players I can restructure the roster as follows: One tier 1 player, three tier 2 players, three tier 3 players. In return for having none or just one Tier 1 player I gain a Tier 2 & a Tier 3 player, so the Calgary Flames roster for example, which contains no tier 1 players could look like this: FORWARDS: Fluery (Tier 2), Niewendyk (Tier 3), Otto (Tier 3), Ranheim (Tier 4), Ashton (Tier 4), Skrudland (Tier 4) DROPPED: Roberts (Tier 2), Reichel (Tier 3), Makarov (Tier 3), Lindberg, Paslawski, Stern, Berube (All tier 4) DEFENDERS: Suter (Tier 2), MacInnis (Tier 2), Dahlquist (Tier 4), Musil (Tier 4), Dahl (Tier 4) DROPPED: Petit (Tier 3), Johansson, Yawney, Godynyuk, Smyth (All Tier 4) GOALIES: Vernon (Tier 3), Reese (Tier 4) Basically you decide how you want to distribute the points available to you & how you want to balance the roster, depending on the team you selected. Halfway through the season (Like in TDL) you'll have the opportunity to draft two new players from the free agent pool. If I have LA & I want to draft 2 new Tier 1 players i'm going to have to drop guys to make it work. If I have Calgary I can bring in two Tier 1 players & just drop one of my Tier 2 & one of my Tier 3 players...............Get it? After the draft & trade period you play the 2nd half of the season & playoffs. Before the start of season 2 there'd be a new draft & trade period. THE DYNASTY ANGLE (SORT OF): At the end of the 4th season (If it even gets that far) the players that have played all 4 seasons are automatically retired, leaving you to draft a new roster from the free agent pool. After a season out those retired players can return. Maybe trades would be affected by the length of career a player has left with you? i.e. Trade Mario for Sandy because Sandy has 3 seasons left whilst Mario is into his last year. Who knows. Anyway, that's the idea in a very long nutshell. If those invited above are interested post below. If other noobs want in post below then up your games played in classic. If vets want in post below & we'll see how things look. Possibly quite an ambitious project, but lets see if people like the idea. Comments, potencial problems etc welcome.
  14. Just replace Dcicon. He's not been playing either so whats the problem?
  15. Have you been playing Gens classic B? If you've shown you are a regular committed player & get your games in you should have more chance of getting into some of the specialist leagues that are run between classics. Those leagues run by other members are usually reserved for guys they know are going to complete without issues. Keep checking the forum for posts about new leagues
  16. Haha. Hokkee's drafting strategy is hilarious every Blitz....... even worse than mine! LOL
  17. So we're 2 days past the 3rd deadline & Minpind (2 games) & Chaos (8 games) both missed it & will incur Blitz 10 draft penalties. Can you guys give us an idea of when you might be available to play this week? The exciting news is that there's a new contender for a playoff spot though. I thought it looked like a toss up between J&J & Chaos for what would probably be the final spot, but out of nowhere Skeletor takes 3 out of 4 from Donnybrook's Boston. A very unexpected result against a player who's just joined the A league & it now makes the playoff picture look very interesting. Really looking forward to seeing which of those 3 can make it by the end. Good job Skeletor!
  18. Skeletor was pointing out that the site has not been updated for the next round of games with the new players?
  19. Yeah sorry, I forgot u were well up on ur games too. There are clearly a good 4 or 5 good options to go up to A here
  20. Relax urself. Im saying the delay via ham is a definite issue for me. When we played direct it wasn't. Only you can say how much it effects you because im not experiencing your connection, but you certainly don't seem to be effected in the same way I do because I can see that when I cut in from the wing you seem to be able to Block it or when im looking for the one timer you seem to be able to put ur guy in place to intercept. When I play u guys from Scandanavia im not able to do those things via a ham connection............which is why I hosted direct vs u as opposed to doing ham, which certainly appeared to solve the problem.
  21. Agreed. a month & a half into the season, zero contact from these guys. I don't understand what the wait is for. Bump em & get the top 3 B guys in there. You've also got Fitzo who's pretty active & reliable. Just get it done rather than letting A die because you wanna keep the standard up. Standard don't mean s**t if the guys aren't playing any more
  22. It's a miracle! I would advise everyone to set up port forwarding. When I have played Fitzo & Depch via Hamachi I get a significant delay, which doesn't seem to be as severe for them. It makes defending a nightmare because you have to try to anticipate what your opponent will do because it's basically impossible to react to what they do. By the time your defender moves the forward has already gone past him. When I last played Fitzo we both hosted via direct connect with port forwarding set up & it was pretty much a perfect connection. It might be less of an issue Scandanavia to the East coast of the US, but for us doing Scandanavia to Mexico it was really tough.
  23. Tomorrow marks the 3rd deadline in this season's Blitz "B" league. 24 games need to be completed before the end of the weekend. For all but 2 of the league this is not an issue. Only Minpind (2 games) & Chaos (8 games) are in danger of incurring Blitz 10 draft penalties, should they fail to get up to speed. 4 players have actually now completed their seasons. Barring a huge run to the finish from someone else Probob looks to have secured the number 1 seeding with an impressive 31-13 record & 60.5 points. Sicarius fell just a touch short, finsihing up just 1 point back with a 28-13-3 record & Brutus continues to improve and sits currently in 3rd place with a 56 point total after 44 games. Whilst my Detroit Redwings currently sit 4th in the standings with a 25-17-2 record Donnybrook, Fitzo & Minpind can all realistically pass me and the battle for the final spot in the playoffs would appear to be between Jack&Jose (14-22, 27 points) and Chaos (4-11-1, 9 points). Loads still to play for and exciting scenarios at both ends of the playoff bracket. After completing their seasons Ottawa's Pavel Bure leads the points standings with 122 (84 goals), just ahead of St. Louis' Brett Hull (117 points, 85 goals). Dino finished up with 114 for the Redwings, but is the current top goal scorer with 92 goals. Tampa Bay's impressive partnership between Pat Lafontaine (109 points, 50 goals) and Cam Neely (96 points, 61 goals) also makes them a huge threat in the playoffs. The current top 4 scorers all look set to be eclipsed by Boston's Pierre Turgeon who has 89 points after 32 games, including 74 goals, and Quebec's Tomas Sandstrom, currently 1 point shy of his century after just 32 games and an incredible 86 goals. Player of the season candidate already? His main supply line Russ Courtnall also has 72 points having created 49 goals to date. What would your choice be: LaFontaine & Neely or Sandy & Russ? In terms of goalies Boston's John Blue continues to astound. Such a limited player & yet he sits proudly with a .769 save average after 32 games, eclipsing Ottawa's Patrick Roy (.723) & Detroit's Tom Barrasso (.702). If Blue can keep that form up through the last 12 games & into the playoffs he could be a difference maker when it really starts to count. Hopefully the guys with games still to play can get it done ahead of time & Blitz B can get it's playoffs under way early. As before, I don't think anyone would be so bold as to try to predict the way this season is gonna go. The points totals of the guys in the 1st 3 places have been superb, & with another couple likely to get close to them it's anyone's guess who will end as champion. Lastly, i'm sure having finished the likes of Probob, Sicarius & Brutus would be more than willing to step up & help A get their season closed out.
