Here is my last one for tonight. A customised USA jersey, incorporating parts of Old Glory (the nickname for our flag) as well as Virginia Tech logos to commemorate a tragedy that occurred there.

Ok guys, let's get started
Assuming you already have either the CD based or iso based game ( I have both), here is what you need:
EA Graphics Editor
A picture of the jeresey you want to edit in (In this case, Dallas's "06 Bullhead" jersey
An idea of which jersey you want to replace (in this tut, we will focus on Dallas' Inagural Jersey)
Photoshop CS2 or CS3
First off, you want to open EA Graphics Editor.
Now go to your NHL 2002 root directory and point your windoes explorer towards the gamedat folder and the uniform.viv file.
Once this is open, we refer to this list for Dallas' jersey numbeR:

We find that Dallas Inagural Jersey is uni0092. We point EA Graphics Editor towards TORS, since that is the jersey file itself. We then save this to the desktop, preserving the original file format and filename.
Next, open this jersey in photoshop and edit the jersey to your liking. Once you have it edited, save it and go back to EA Graphics Editor.
Next, go to tools>import wizard and hit import external file (first choice). This will import it to the viv file we are working with and it should automatically save it.
Next, boot up NHL02 and you should see your new jersey in the game!!
That is all, and I hope this helped. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have and I will try and answer them.

Edit: I forgot to mention to edit all the files in that jersey number archive (eg uni0001)
Edit Again: I also left off....in photoshop, change color mode to RGB so you can edit the jersey. then switch back to Indexed before you save.

Fighting is no longer called by the refs. In short, you fight, you get away with it.
There are no longer penalties.
All teams will have 99 ratings. In the old rom it was totally unfair
to have say Bangs at anaheim's 55 rating. So everyone will have at least 90's.
*All teams will be organized by team type (College, High School, Semi Pro, Fantasy)
The periods are now longer. You have a choice of 10, 15 or 20 minute periods, with the default at 15 minutes
The ice lines have been recolorede red line is now yellow and the center ice lines are now blue.
Overtime now goes on till someone scores. No time limit and no ties.
HPU, Brownwood, Bangs, Early and a few other teams will have their white jerseys replaced by black ones. I may do this for all teams.
New "faces" will be added to HPU's roster.
*= if the teams retain their logos after being moved.
Aggression ratings for all players will be set at 99 so that more fighting occures.

I am working on an update for that fantasy rom i and SY made in 07, and i want the rules to be like current NHL..no ties in regular season. Consecutive OT's until someone scores. Anyone have an idea on how to make it happen?

After a LONG abscence from the forum, dalstarsfan has returned. However, I am retired from NHL94 hacking. Since I havea new laptop, I am now focused on NHL08 modding, starting with music. If anyone has any tools for NHL08, please upload them for me. Tried NHL Stream editor, but couldnt find the home goal music. So if anyone has any help, post here.

I am working on a full scale update for NHL93. It will have the new rosters (minus Washington and Vancouver, sorry they wouldnt fit on the game.)

Here are the two logos I missed. As for Team Hobbs and Team Buker, Team Hobbs will use a modified Sabres logo. Team Hobbs can be a purple and gold flaming hockey puck.

Steve, the credits freeze. and my name is wrong. its dalstarsfan. and the Bangs ice logo is still the ducks logo. other than that, its pretty good.

Here are the logos you requested, however, you will have some changes to make in NOSE. HEre they are:
Furman- Change colors to blue and white, and change Paladians" to ""Paladins"
Washington state- Change colors to red and black.
If you find anymore changes, feel free to make them. And put my name in the credits.

Brownwood: Paw. Howard Payne "HP ( I will post it. or a Yellow Jacket. You can look up the team colors in NOSE.
