Vancouver takes Chicago in 4

Disappointment in Chicago tonight, as the 6th seed Vancouver Canucks beat out the 3rd place Blackhawks.

Vancouver took charge and once the ball got rolling it never let up.

Lemieux was a force to reckon with, from face offs to the blue, to the slot.

But what really stole the show was the team as a whole.

Oats and Brindamore provided solid fore checking and phenomenal play making.

With this conditioned Vancouver team, Chicago may as well been the underdogs.

However don't put anything passed them.

This Chicago team had a great regular season, led by fine coaching and the great JR.

They definitely had the heart in this playoff series.

When things got gritty they took it in stride and never gave up.

They kept every game close and had the Canucks against the ropes for most of the series, scoring all the go ahead goals.

The Difference Maker:

Goal Tending

Barraso: was mediocre at best. With the Canucks formidable offense, barraso couldn't keep up and make the saves when needed to.

Vanbiesbrouck: Clutch. With JR and Ruzicka storming down the wing, He almost didn't hold up. He gave up many key goals which kept the hawks a live for most of the series.

But in the end a few key saves made the difference.

Whats next?

The Canucks await their round 2 opponents, and are hoping to ride the momentum they've gained from this series.

The black Hawks gladly put the experience they gained in the bank, and will use it to their advantage next season as they plan to have another successful season guided by good coaching and stellar play.
