How to edit a rom for 2 players on ice per team +goalie

How do I reduce the players on the ice per team to 2, plus a goalie?

I am not sure if this is possible with the SNES editor, but I think the way to do it in the Genesis editor is to go into the Lines area of the editor and select an invalid choice of some sort... Maybe the SNES editor allows this.

If the SNES editor doesn't allow this, please post again here and I'll take a look at the ROM to see if I can figure out a manual hex editor hack.
