trudatman
the game's math overvalues some player ratings, like the likelihood of getting penalized (which, when high, inexplicably boosts overall ratings instead of hurting them) and goaltender awareness. thus, veteran '94 players often substitute players that are frustrating to use with players they are more comfortable using. I (and these lines that follow) have a general preference for a strong left wing, an accurate right wing and a superstar center. when those are not available, I usually default to well-rounded players. I figure you can use these to fill lines SC1, SC2, PP1, PP2, PK1, PK2 and only call on the CHK line of scrubs to spell others after your time out is gone, unless the team you are using is deep enough to take advantage of a decent third line, as CHI, LAK, NJD, NYR, PIT may be able to do to varying extents. if you are playing some sort of season/league that requires you to play a backup netminder (assuming you even have one), your options may be so bad that you consider playing with a rover instead. Bob Kudelski
I disagree with a lot of your choices! I prefer most of the original starting lines that are in the game. I would pick: MTL: Schneider, Damphousse and Bellows over Daigneault, Savard and Lebeau. LAK: McSorley and Gretzky over Zhitnik and Carson DET: Chiasson and Ciccarreli over Lidstrom and Ysabaert EDM: Simpson over MacTavish CHI: Smith and Ruutu over Marchment and Murphy NYR: Leetch and Gartner over Lowe and Turcotte
Oilers442
I've been waiting for this topic for a long time. I'd like to do a full write-up/lineup guide on every team similar to AJ's work for Gens. However, I probably need to prove myself in online leagues first (finally will be able to join in the Fall!). Anyways, I digress... MTL Muller-Lebeau-Bellows Schneider-DesJardins LA Gretzky-Robitalle-Sandstrom Blake-Zhitnik (McSorley used against heavy teams such as Pitt) DET Fedorov-Yzerman-Ciccarelli Lidstrom-Coffey (Chiasson used against heavy teams) EDM (favorite lineup in game) Corson-Simpson-Klima Manson-Kravchuk CHI Ruuttu-Roenick-Larmer Smith-Chelios NYR Messier-Gartner-Tikkanen Patrick-Leetch PHI Recchi-Lindros-Brind'Amour Yushkevich-Hawgood I usually leave Pitt default...don't like using them lol
