  1. Couldn't you just not put Anaheim and Florida in?

That is all the duplicates. What does active mean?

By the way your site and work is amazing great job.

Ya I suppose I could filter those out - I'll take a look and see if it evens out.

Regarding the site - thanks man! It's been fun building and using it.

Big time credit for the way the site looks (minus the favicon) goes to aqua.

  2. Not traded!

These are the players selected in the expansion draft.

All Anaheim and Florida players are duplicates as they played in 1993 for one team and then were picked by Florida or anaheim in the Expansion draft.

I liked Naples DEADLINE Roms as they explained how EA rosters work.

NHL 94 is essentially NHL 93 as it is based on the stats and rosters from the 1993 Trade Deadline.

    EXCEPT for:

The players that were selected in the Expansion Draft.

SNES took them off the team they played for in 93, but that left some teams with just 1 goalie (NYR) and other missing players.

GENS left them on their 93 team AND put them on the Expansion Team.

Oh thanks - I guess I'll see if I can filter out the duplicates, but probs not, as there is no flag to indicate which of the two players is actually the "active" one.

  3. In order to help myself out with comparing players for Trades, I've added this playerer Comparaterer to nhl94rocks:

    IE compare Fleury vs Gilmour:

One thing I noticed - is that there are duplicates of certain player - Guy Hebert, Tom Fitzgerald: who is listed as both on NYI and FLA. I extracted the stats directly from nhl94bin, but can't figure out why they are listed on more than one team (Traded during season?). Anyway there ya go!

Tons 'O' kudos to wboy for how to figure out the overall, handedness, and goalie stats!

  4. Hi guys,

We've made it so the tracker now supports multiple bins (Again much thanks to Chaos for his tutelage on player offsets). We'll try and keep up with the trades, and can probably update a new bin once a day. Probably :)

So you can now see how your team is doing during preseason - good for trades etc.

On the "Create Page, there is a new drop down under "Bins" with the bin name.

    Currently we have:

    • nhl94.bin (the classic original)
    • plabaxipreseason.bin
    • plabaxipreseason_v06.bin

Games from Last night with Aqua for example: http://nhl94rocks.com/resultsSeries.php?seriesId=191

    Ya...It was bloody

  5. LOL there has to be an issue, not sure how an 0-31 team makes the playoffs as a 12 seed in a 16 team league

I was wondering about how the teams were chosen for playoffs. Raph can we get some input? I don't want to start playoffs if theres been a glitch.

    thx

  6. Great to have another programmer here!

We don't really have a disassembly, although https://www.hex-rays.com/products/ida/can be used to do it.

When I hack the game, I use code traces generated by an emulator with debugger features. Here is the tutorial for how that works/looks: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/3474-reference-nhl-94-rom-hacking-school/?p=94927

It spits out 100s of thousands of lines like this

    01:5DFA 53 78 SUBQ.W #1,($C468) A0=FFFFBDEC A1=FFFFCA32 A2=FFFFC6CE A3=FFFFB74A A4=FFFFB892 A5=FFFFB8B4 A6=FFFFC060 A7=FFFFFF62 D0=FFFF0100 D1=00000122 D2=00000000 D3=00000183 D4=00000006 D5=0000000C D6=0000000A D7=00000001 XNZvC

which you then cross-reference with a log of reads/writes of specified RAM or ROM addresses...

I think my brain is bleeding
