well, excuse me for typing about what we aren't talking about, but the hit zone of the tripping really cannot be based on the animation, can it? redrawing the thing doesn't take away its functionality, does it? that would be weird. I guess it's possible that removing a solid color and replacing it with the invisible layer color could remove the contact area, but it just seems unlikely and tricky to program. I want to read more on this theory. I have trouble emulating the Genesis because I seems to lose the function of the right of the directional pad, even though it works in SNES9x. this may be worth trying anyway. very interesting.

completed three of the four roms for season two (just used the "two noses" routine to copy the teams over, pity you can't copy the colours too!) and gonna do the fourth one later

and in the last hour, i have completed the ENTIRE roster of teams in my secondary rom set .....

you aleady know the EUROPEAN teams, but i'll list them again, along with the rest!

(only had to create names for a few teams)

now all i have to do is put them in the game .....

it's amazing how many non-fifa teams there are now ..... all the better for MEEEEEEEEEEEE

[NHLPA Hockey '93 - 64-team ROM (SNES)]

I was making a bit more progress on the banners tonight and I finally stumbled upon what must be the crash jenzie reported: if you do a 7-game playoff series, the game will crash when loading the Ron Barr screen before the 2nd game. It forgets what teams it's trying to load. Weird.

Anyway, I'm looking into it.

Also, I think I figured out how to prevent the banners from overwriting other graphics in Video RAM, so 2 steps forward, 1 step back tonight.

sorry for not replying, had some computer probs (had to install bloomin windows 98 again YES WIN98 don't start ) and i'm concentrating on my own roms so i haven't played it since then

i'm going to add ONE HUNDRED TWENTY more teams in the future, so that makes a grant total of TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY international teams over EIGHT ROMS

now the intelligent ones on this board (all TWO OF YOU ) may realise that is more countries in the WORLD ..... and no i haven't got a team from mars ..... but this means i had to have islands as teams like JERSEY, the FALKLAND ISLANDS (who indeed have some sort of international football team!!!) and the great team from the BIMINI ISLANDS!!!!!!!!!!

i wanted a load of teams in them, and i did search hell for leather for ice hockey teams, but the problem was the stats ..... i didn't have them!

so i went looking in the place where they did have loads of teams ..... SENSIBLE WORLD OF SOCCER (that's the football part ) right now i have ..... one-two-three-four-ONE HUNDRED FIFTY NINE teams set up with NHLPA93 data, infact i could have EVERY interantional football team (i've also done some of the non-fifa teams like GREENLAND and GIBRALTER and gave them random lower stats, just so i could have a second 30-team european rom if i wanted, and probably a second AFRICA and ASIA rom if i was so inclined ..... because what i really want is an NHLPA93 with INFINATE teams!!! ..... is that crazy? ) i had to do this to fill out the AMERICAS ROM

so i created a spreadsheet to convert the SWOS data into usable NHLPA93 data and imput it into NOSE

believe me ..... i don't do NORMAL in this

well, first of all i've finished all my banners for usage with internaltional teams, and guess what .....

that's ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TEAMS in total, 90 are complete and thirty are still to have their own rom done

second, my new WHL season is well and truly underway, with the WHL CHAMPIONS CUP (elite group) completed (see sig to see who won ie NOT ENGLAND *guffaw*) that's right, the TOP RATED TEAM of all of them, i found this particulary funny .....

SPAIN

CROATIA

ENGLAND (haha had to say it again BTW)

BRAZIL

and to add to the english humiliation, they lost ALL FOUR games in it (to sweden and republic of ireland, they lead early on in THREE of the games but lost them BWAHAHAHAHA)

anyway ..... the final was between MEXICO and ARGENTINA (another kick in the england jollies) and the MEXICANS won it!

then i started the GROUP ONE and GROUP TWO qualifiers, and have done three rounds of matches, and when that's done i'll have the WHL CUP for all the groups ..... and hopefully before the CONTINENTAL QUALIFIERS begin i'll have the remaining thirty teams done

BTW i watch them AI v AI

so i'll keep updating in this thread about the roms being complete (will have to wait until i get a new*ish* computer so i can put in the banners for the last two roms)

so let me say this ..... THANK YOU EA HOCKEY for twenty years of service ..... NOW REJOICE IN THE NEW REGIME ..... NHLPA93 IS THE NEW KING ..... THE NEW WHL IS KING (for me )

[Deleting Goalies]

I've scoured through the topics created in the NOSE sub-forums, but I haven't seen a topic on how to delete a goaltender from the roster. My apologizes if I must have missed this somewhere in the read-me or in the forms. Any help would be appreciated

when in nose click the G button for goalies, you'll see there are three F's marked in the dropdown menus, so click on each dropdown menu to choose how many goalies you want

i'm not sure how much work for me it would be, but it would be way less for wboy who already knows how it all works... i wonder why he didn't make a monster ROM, maybe there was some kind of technical limitation (but I'm not sure what it would be)

maybe it's down to the actual size of the rom? what size is the megadrive rom anyway?

and WOW at having a whopping 52 teams in one rom, that's amazing for ANY ROM!!!

pity it's not stable (it keeps crashing on my machine though, on both ZNES and SNES9X) and not as good as the megadrive version

but keep up the good work and maybe someone can usurp the snes one for a megadrive one (make it a 60 team rom and i'll kiss you!!! )

[Rink Tile fix for NHL 93 - 30 Team ROM v1.0a [Alpha]]

just did a test for this, and it WORKS!!

1: replaced the code in hex editor

2: the logo's location is 0008b74c (tile molester)

3: the size is 15x2 (64px x 16px)

4: use palette 1 (the rink colours)

5: and MAKE SURE you name the rom .bin

the only sticking pint is that the whole rink is all mixed up, like the tiles are randomly place or sometihng like that, to fit into the rom. it's just like a flipping big jigsaw puzzle really (well, it seems it to me)

i've changed from NHL94 as the stats were kinda rubbish (0-6!!!), so my NHLPA93 INTERNATIONAL rom is coming along nicely, as i've done a lot during the last two weeks, like .....

all teams data done (REMINDER: the teams are all from SENSIBLE SOCCER and not actual hockey teams)

*all teams have ONE goalie, SIX defenders, NINE forwards*

all new team colours (just needs tweaking)

some NEW BANNERS!!

wanted something a bit different with the banners, and if you notice the three black "blobs" at the side, they're actually STARS (indicating the teams' particular grouping in my WHL season structure (hopefully i'll have a total of NINETY TEAMS over THREE roms!!!!!! PLUS another FOUR or even FIVE roms with teams from their own continental regions (europe, americas, asia, africa) my biggest wish would be a rom with UNLIMITED team places!!!!!!!!!)
