  1. Copied from Juiced League forum, and edited: I just want to say that I know I've been a real douche to many of you, and I'm hoping to try to control myself in the future. I've created a new Forum and AIM name - IPv6Freely. It's not that I'm trying to pull a hokkeefan, but more that I'm just looking for a fresh start. I'd like to apologize for my past behavior, and hope that in time you all can forgive me and put it behind us. I'd really like for everyone to add my new AIM name, IPv6Freely and hit me up for a game. I'd like to right this ship... and I can't do so without the help and support of my fellow NHL94-lovin' peers. Have a good American thanksgiving, everyone!
  2. Hi there. I'm not really new, but I wanted to start fresh. New AIM, new forum account, new attitude. I hope you all can forgive me, and put the past behind us. I apologize to everyone, especially Halifax, Schwartz, and Evan. I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into this, I really do. Looking for a test game to complete registration. Thank you. Oh, PS. you can hit me up for a game on AIM: IPv6Freely
  3. Thats good to hear. Replacements arent always so eager. Props to you, Quebec!
  4. With the fourth checkpoint about to be passed, many of the coaches haven't even played enough games to satisfy checkpoint TWO. I feel really bad for the guys on the waiting list who have waited patiently for their turn and for whatever reason have not been given the opportunity to play. Why bother creating all kinds of rules with checkpoints in an effort to make this season different from previous seasons, when those rules are just tossed out the window?
  5. Only if lines were required to stay as default. Nothing sucks more then having to go in and switch around all your lines before every game.
  6. 3 gens guys and 1 snes guy. If i can hit 8 for both, then the league is on! Fleury: interesting idea. Lets see what others think of it. Everyone should throw in some ideas!
  7. Hey guys. Hope everyone is enjoying the season so far. Looks like we've got some tight races! So I was thinking today... usually with 3-4 weeks left in the season people start to get bored, get starved for games, and the forum goes dead. So, why not start up a mini-league just to pass the time? Does anyone have any ideas? - We could keep the current league teams, or draft new teams - draft teams based on current win % - the 'quirks' league ive mentioned a few times before - pick whatever team you want every game - etc. I could whip up something quick to log scores, kind of like nhl94online.com has. I'm also open to running a mini season wind-down league for both snes and gens. Anyone interested? Halifax? j3w1sh2k?
  8. Congrats j3w1sH on your first win! Folks, this guy is DEFINITELY better then his record shows, watch out! I can see him playing playoff spoiler down the road
  9. do gens players usually use 3rd party controllers? i know i couldnt use anything but a genuine snes controller...
  10. [Deleted. Please refer to the Forum Guidelines. - Mod] So who cares?
  11. Theres a version of zsnes out there that allows direct output to avi. Unfortnately it for some reason doesnt allow netplay - at all.
  12. if only it did. i still have scores from 4 or 5 days ago that havent been logged yet.
  13. You and I discussed this privately, so I won't bother posting it here.
  14. We played a game tonight, and it was ridiculous. He could deke the crap out of my goalie because I had NO IDEA what he was gonna do, because one second he'd be at the hash marks, and in an instant the puck was in the back of the net. I didn't even see most of his goals! Obviously the 19-6 score is hella inflated. It was around 12-6 when I gave up. I dunno, maybe he's used to it... but I'm sure not used to such a terrible connection. My goals are usually pretty... nice setup one timers, passing plays that end in a deke... and those kinds of things just dont work when the screen freezes every couple seconds. I cant score if I cant stickhandle or time my onetimers perfectly. Bottom line, I wont be playing against boston anymore this season unless he fixes his connection. What happened to confirming the newbies to make sure they met requirements??
  15. Just a thought... if all scores have to be confirmed, why does it matter who initially logs it? I'm just thinking of this because I'd rather just go enter all the scores instead of having this paper on my desk until the other person decides to enter their score - especially in the case of somebody who is pissed off and doesnt enter theirs...
  16. Agreed 100%. The sound effects in the gens version are horrid.
  17. The three reasons I didn't like Gens. The goalie control is self explanitory, and the other two are related. It was just FAR too easy to turn over the puck. You almost had to have the guy you're passing to be completely wide open to be able to receive the pass. Puckhandling through traffic is nearly impossible, as the puck always gets bounced off your stick. Just too frustrating for me.
  18. This series could be summed up in one word: BRUTAL. Game 1: Pittsburg up by 2 with a minute left. NYI scores two AWFUL goals to take the win. Nothing more frustrating then losing your lead in the last minute!! NYI wins 8-7 I think. Game 2: Up again by 2 goals, Pittsburg watches their lead once again slip away. NYI scores a deke goal in OT to take it 5-4 Game 3: Pissed off and determined, PIT jumps to a 4-0 lead early. And again watches that slip away... and ends up just slipping by 6-5. I think those scores are right. NYI please correct them if they're wrong! Nothing frustrates me more as a player then completely dominating 3 games and only getting 1 win. Being up by 2 or more goals in all three really shows Pittsburg's lack of ability to finish the job.... brutal. And for the record... game 3... hat trick by Kevin Stevens and Ron Francis. Mario is useless.
  19. I've tried the Gens version, I just didn't like it. It was just too different. I mean, here I am in 2007 playing NHL94. If I wanted to play something different, I would have had many years to find something else. Why would I play a different version of NHL94 then the one I've been playing for 13 years? Thats my reasoning. I acknowledge that genesis has a lot of things that are considered "better" like graphics and sound. (though, if people wanted graphics and sound over gameplay, the wii wouldnt be owning the ps3 in sales... right? ) Heck, theres probably MORE reasons to like Gens over Snes. But no matter how many reasons there are, it doesnt change my personal preference. And thats what it all is... who cares what system is better in the long run? To use the same analogy, the PS3 is DEFINITELY 'better' then the Wii, yet which would I rather have? The Wii by far! Also: Which button is that? Select? That's the only button I know of that only has one use... I've never played with line changes on, so I wouldn't know.
  20. I hear ya, but its hard to practice deking vs the computer, it's far too easy!
  21. My AIM list is freakin empty! Please tell me its not going to be like last season where nobody was ever around...
