if anyone has any interest in analytics... they support the claim that this was a great trade by columbus. they added an above average player and got rid of a below average player.

this is a weird one... i know philly's got some young guys with talent and i'm sure will be fine offensively. but i don't understand why this was all they traded him for. would've at least thought they'd try to get a d-man for him.

the kings, to me, looked more structured, more composed, more aggressive, and relied less on their goaltender in that series than the rangers did. i'm not so much ripping the rangers as much as simply saying i'm not buying the notion that LA's win was lucky. they won because they were the better team. but am i still bitter my team blew a 3-1 lead to NYR? absolutely. regardless, our matchups will be fun next year. especially if we get Ulf from you guys.

you wanna see luck? watch rangers-pens game 7. luck is squeeking by with a 1 goal win in a game 7 that saw the pens miss several open opportunities and a goaltender making blind saves. luck is not winning a 5 game series when one team had the better of the play throughout.

the NHL has the least shady officiating of any of the big 4 sports leagues. if it were fixed, LA wouldn't have been the team to win it all. a big market doesn't equate to a big hockey market.

many other league ideas have been attempted and have failed. i can speak as someone whose been there, it takes a lot of will out of you to put all the time in to create and/or run a league just to have it fail. hard to blame anyone for not wanting to try it.

my question is this: how many people still in the lg participated in the original blitz 01 season? i think i remember reading 2? so my view on it is that 22 people in this lg inherited a roster. what's wrong with resetting and giving everyone a shot to truly create their own team before we go back to the protect system next season?
