    Come to the B side luke! haha. Besides those A lg guys are a bunch of slack ass mo fos.weird how that works tho ,the guys who are supposed to be hardcore are the worst at getting gms played

    I'm good for whatever league hokkee is in for sure. I think we are most evenly matched... and there are years of evidence from prior leagues to back that up.

    And we are always the first ones done with our games:)

    How many 25 points guys are paid 5M$ and considered well worth it? Not too much.

    Hamuis is like Roman Hamrlik but younger.

    So defensive skills are something that should not be paid for?

    Messier, Yzerman, Sundin, Sakic... all great leaders. Crosby isn't up there on that list right now. He could be, in a few years, but I don't think so.

    Too bad they were not eligible for the award.

    People who watch Crosby know he is a beast and doesn't have an off button. In addition to being a relentless worker and leading by example(best in the league at working the boards), he has the burden of being the face of the league and handles it with class. You don't see a Crosby interview where he is complaining about the refs or badmouthing an opponent. People who say he whines heard something about him from 3 years ago and should probably jump on the soccer bandwagon for now. Well deserved win for the Kid!

    Quick story about this ad - I used to get GamePro Magazine back in 1991. I got an issue with a Spider-man game on the cover being featured and when I opened the cover, that ad was in it. I was floored and had never been so excited about a video game coming out. I carried that magazine around all the time just staring at the two-page ad. Up until that point, the only two hockey games for the NES and Genesis were Blades of Steel and Nintendo Ice Hockey, so this was a huge jump in terms of both graphics and a different point of view. A video hockey game with REAL NHL teams and their logos, plus real players.

    I already had a Sega Genesis (one look at the back of the John Madden Football box for the Genesis and I traded in the NES!) and back then there was no web, so you either pre-ordered games in the store or by phone. I was so obsessed about this game that I immediately pre-ordered it by phone and would call "Electronic Arts Direct" every week to see if a different person would give me a different release date for the game. PLUS during these first couple of years, if you ordered games thru Electronic Arts Direct, you'd receive the game in the mail about a day or two before it hit store shelves. I called that phone number so many times that I STILL remember the phone number: 1-800-245-4525.

    Here's a scan of that GamePro Magazine cover (August 1991 edition)...yes, I still have that magazine - GREAT MEMORIES!

    This is awesome man. The leaps that were made back in the day from 8 bit to 16 bit to 32 bit were mind staggering. Playing the Madden games for the Genesis was a big past time for me and my friends, and when we saw the screen shots in gaming magazines of the next generation of Madden games on the original PlayStation with polygons and what not made us feel like we just landed on the moon.

    Will we ever have that jump again? I feel the jump from PS2 to PS3 was great.. but it didn't just blow people away like the old days. Maybe I'm being nostalgic:)

    percentage of obesity among adult population:

    Canada - 23%

    USA- 33%

    if the fatties in Canada don't go to Tim Hortons, where do they go?

    Secondly, how are you comparing the necessity of drinking water and the hobby of playing hockey?

    If you are talking to Wags, PM him. You posted on the forum for all people to read.

    Your words - "if ice doesn't occur naturally, you don't deserve the sport." It's a pretty simple analogy.

    and does Pittsburgh represent more NHL94 players than any other location here? (if you live like 3 hours away from Montreal... you don't live in Montreal)

    I don't see your fat asses on my ponds, where hockey lives and breathes with a passion I don't expect you to understand.

    A passion that will live with or with out the NHL and its fucked up commish.

    Get real? You don't know what real hockey is.

    1. Walk into a Tim Horton's, look me in the eye and tell me Canada is not also fat

    2. If water does not naturally occur in your icy environment, do you not deserve to drink it?

    Canadian pride and passion for hockey is clearly greater than that in the United States, but it is difficult to appreciate your elitism to think that the NHL doesn't need the American market. I play hockey 3 nights a week (with a job... that might make me different than most), so I find it difficult to believe I cannot understand your passion for it because of my geographic location.

    Some even-keeled responses:

    1. I would enjoy the NHL more if there were more Canadian teams. So I agree with you there, but;

    2. example as to why the NHL is as it is: Hamilton metro: pop 700,000. Phoenix metro: population 4,300,000. Phoenix per capita certainly is not as hockey crazy as Hamilton, but only 1/6th as many people need to care to make it as viable as Hamilton. From a business perspective, Phoenix wins.

    3. To categorize everyone in Texas as a redneck who knows nothing about hockey is somewhat bigoted. There are passionate fans down there, though not as many as in Canada. But the sheer volume of people in Texas makes the revenue from merchandise and TV licensing more alluring to a potential buyer of a team. So whether they can tell you who Maurice Richard is or not.... when money talks, people listen.

    my suggestion: mod the 94 ROM so that there are no southern teams. That'll teach those brainless slack jaws!

    You know what I may be a bit of a hockey snob, okay so more then a bit but I don't give a f'n damn. Those dumb rednecks in TExas have no respect for this game, same as in Florida and F'n Pheonix, look at all the trouble the damn Coyotes have been having. Yet that f**king moronic twit Bettman supports the southern teams over the northen and Canadian teams?

    Bettman is the dumbest f**king sports executive in the god damned known world. he should be pushing hockey in Canada where it belongs, it's THEIR F'n game you moron!. Canada came up with hockey not the US! IT's their game

    It's a f'n disgrace seeing hockey in the south, places like Texas where they really know nothing about the great history of the game, all they know is they have a great team that wins and is entertaining. I bet if they had bad teams like when the Dallas Stars were the Minnesota North stars all those dumb rednecks would abandon the stars so fast!

    The people of Minnesota supported their team during the bad, unlike what the dumbass Southerners would do. So no my friend YOU are wrong

    My mind will not be changed, I will support the elimination of Southern Teams in hockey till the day I die, it is WRONG and the creators of this great game must be doing backflips in their god damned graves seeing this bullshit

    They deserve teams way more then places that the people have no idea what hockey is and only support it cause they have a winning team IE Dallas. Seriously the NHL should of never been put in friggin TExas biggest mistake ever to give those damned stupid rednecks hockey

    Let them stick to their football and basketball

    A lot of people feel the way you do, and it feels ignorant to me. An NHL franchise is a business, and your basis for a team "deserving" a franchise is that it is cold.

    More people per capita in locations like Hartford may understand the game of hockey than those down south, but these locations aren't big enough to support an NHL franchise. Dallas is doing a great job. Don't hate.

    How pissed is Gary Bettman that WSH lost? Caps - Pens games have been epic... let's hope Habs - Pens can bring that type of excitement.

    But I can't wait for Sidney Crosby to pad his stats during Hal Gill shifts:)

    I grew up with Lemieux, Yzerman, etc... I think there was a lull of stars in the early 2000s (also maybe had something to do with low-scoring clutch and grab hockey), but I think there has been a revitalization of young exciting stars. If you don't like Ovechkin or Crosby, how do you feel about some of the other young stars like Stamkos or Toews?
