  8. Maybe, but the dispersal and expansion draft were May 30, 1991. NHL Hockey when you look in Hex editor says like May 2, 1991. ( I will check exact date when I get home). I have all the Media Guides from 90, 91, and 92 and none of the Sharks match up well with who they should be. I have researched this a bunch and I just think the Sharks are purely fictional in this game or maybe they knew some of the players they would probably take. Almost everyone knew they would take Hayward in the dispersal from Minnesota. Check this thread and 93 rom I made for more info about who is who in this game. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/15411-92-in-93/ Those were the Sharks top 2 guys though coming out of the dispersal and I believe it was the numbers that each wore. However I also believe it was a coincidence.
  9. Why is XP the best? What do I do if I am looking at getting another CPU since XP is no longer available?
  10. Web-site is updated for games last night. http://www.nhl92.com/2015winterclassic.htm Great games Raph! What's up Houly, Darko, O&B?
  11. I can not figure out the rating system. I am posting all the goalies based on their overall. * denotes back ups and St. Louis, Edmonton, Buffalo, Calgary, Detroit, and Hartford have back-ups ranked higher than starter. Ed Belfour 93 Patrick Roy 90 Kelly Hrudey 85 Andy Moog 82 Mike Richter 75 Tom Barasso 70 Jon Casey 70 Curtis Joseph 68* Grant Fuhr 67* Daniel Berthiaume 64* Vincent Riendeau 63 Brian Hayward 63* Andre Racicot 62* Don Beaupre 61 Billy Ranford 59 Clint Malarchuk 59* Ron Hextall 58 Rick Wamsley 57* John Vanbiesbrouck 57* Daren Puppa 55 Glenn Healey 50 Mike Vernon 50 Glen Hanlon 49* Frank Pietrangelo 49* Bob Essensa 48 Chris Terreri 47 Daren Elliot 46* Reggie Lemelin 44 #1 San Jose 39 Peter Ing 36 Tim Cheveldae 35 Ron Tugnutt 34 Peter Sidorkiewicz 32 Jacques Cloutier 32* Troy Gamble 29 Sean Burke 29* Kirk McLean 26* Dom Hasek 26* Rick Tabaracchi 25* Ken Wreggett 23* Jeff Hackett 21* Mike Liut 20* Jeff Reese 19* #30 San Jose 9*
  12. I will use 2 forwards from a team in each tier to try and make this more clear. Boston examples (Top tier team these attributes will be 100/80/60/40/20/0) #8 AG 100 SP 100 ShP 80 Chk 100 Stick 40 (Cam Neely) #27 AG 40 SP 40 ShP 60 Chk 40 Stick 80 (Dave Christian) Edmonton examples (Middle Tier team these attributes will be 100/93/73/53/33/13/0) #11 AG 100 SP 100 ShP 33 Chk 73 Stick 93 (Mark Messier) #10 AG 73 SP 73 ShP 73 Chk 73 Stick 73 (Esa Tikkanen) Toronto examples (Lower tier team these attributes will be 100/86/66/46/26/6/0) #26 AG 66 SP 86 ShP 66 Chk 26 Stick 66 (Mike Krushelnyski) #10 Ag 26 SP 46 ShP 46 Chk 26 Stick 86 (Vincent Damphousse) All teams can have players ratings of 100 but the middle and lower tier teams have very few only real superstars like Messier and Yzerman. For the most part a 100/93/86 are like a 5 in 94, a 80,73,66 are like a 4 in 94, a 60,53,46 are like a 3 in 94, 40/33/26 are like a 3, 20/13/6 are like a 2 in 94. So the best teams will naturally be better. All the other ratings are based on an actual stat. Sorry if you don't get it, that is the best I can do. Look at it in NOSE while reading this and it will be more clear. 93 did a similar rating with tiered teams.
  13. See, here comes my opinion. I love rod hockey, but I love 92-94 because it is not rod hockey and the teams are different. But, I still get NHL94PC's point and would say go for it on a league.
  14. Personally, I think if you want to run a league. DO IT! Don't ask and talk about it because you know what everybody has got besides opinions. Set it up how you want and let it live or die on its own merits.
  15. With all the things people do on the internet, my wife is happy I am playing 20 year old hockey video games. It really is just like playing cards or chess in the evening only better.
  16. Heck ya! you are #2 on the list. OrangeBlack, Houly, and Darko 4 days to get your games in. Post your availability here. There will be no grace period.
  17. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/16532-how-do-you-convert-to-png/ Ask KingRaph if you need further help.
  18. Not ready to concede this thing just yet. Are you ready to come in as a replacement Deadmeow? And play that nasty D you play. That is exactly my plan. Lets just say Pitt (Labs) and NYR (Raph) play in the Finals. The next season those 2 teams would have to use Line 2. That is still a pretty good line as Pitt gets Francis (#9) and Jagr (#68) and NYR get Turcotte (#8)
  19. Web-site is updated. http://www.nhl92.com/2015winterclassic.htm 1st deadline is Monday December 15. (7 GP) Anyone else want on the waitlist? Great Job Deadline met! 20. 92 uses the 16 point rating system that '93 does not the 7 point rating system that 94 does. Weight is generally lower than in '94 which was mostly accurate. Gretzky weighed 172 in 94 he weighs 148 in 92. Lemieux weighed 220 in 94 he weighs 212 in 92. It varies but almost everyone is at least 1 click less. Agility, Speed, Shot Power, Checking and Stickhandling are first based on how good the team was and will be explained in more detail below. Offensive Awareness is based on Points per game. Top 5 (> 1.45) Gretzky to Recchi = 100 Next 12 (1.31-1.44) = 93 Next 22 (1.12-1.30) = 86 Next 37 (0.97-1.11) = 80 etc....73/66/60/53/46/40/33/20/13/6/0 I have this broken down all the way if anyone is interested. Defensive Awareness is based on +/- per game. MacInnis, Fleury, McSorley, Doug Wilson = 100 Not sure of the exact formula for this but it is the metric used. Handedness is mostly accurate. Petr Klima should be a righty and he is listed lefty. A couple others I can't think of right now. Shot Accuracy. Is based on Shooting percentage. This was held over and used in 93 and 94 as well. Personally it drives me crazy. Peter Zezel (100) and Mikko Makela (100) did not have a more accurate shot than Gretzky (80) and Lemieux (86) Even if their shooting percentage said so. This rewards guys who did not shoot much. Endurance. It is 100, 66, or 33 for everybody. Vast majority got 66. The 100's were mostly for stars. Roughness (Shot Bias) Based on shots taken. Hull, Yzerman, Bourque, MacInnis (Top 4) = 100 Passing. Is based on Assist per game. I love that they used this. Should have kept for 93 and 94. You can really tell the good passers in 92. It was different for forwards and d-men. 100 = Forwards (>1.48) Gretzky and Oates and Dmen (>0.90) Leetch, MacInnis, Bourque, Coffey 93 = Forward NA and d-men (0.65-0.89) 10 players 86 = Forwards NA and d-men (0.50-0.64) 10 players 80 = Forwards (0.86-1.47) 11 players and d-men (0.42-0.49) 10 players etc...73/66/60/53/46/40/33/26/20/13/6/0 I have this broken down all the way if anyone is interested. Fighting/Aggression is based on PIM. This makes things interesting as some who took lots of penalties but did not fight score highly. Peluso, Probert, Berube, and Odjick are the 100's. The best thing is anybody will brawl even if they rate 0. And if they do rate 0 you can knock them out with one punch. Agility, Speed, Shot Power, Checking and Stickhandling: These 5 very important ratings are random and only somewhat based in reality. They are more about making players and teams good. Cam Neely is 100/100 in speed and agility. Alexander Mogilny is 73/73. They are hard to figure out but do follow these rules per team. 8 Top Tier Teams (>88 points and/or Cup Finalist) Individual Player Rankings in: Speed/Agility/Checking/ShPow/StH 100/80/60/40/20/0 Boston, Calgary, Chicago, LA, Minnesota, Montreal, Pittsburgh, St. Louis 7 Middle Tier Teams (73-85 points) Individual Player Rankings in: Speed/Agility/Checking/ShPow/StH 100/93/73/53/33/13/0 Buffalo, Edmonton, Hartford, New Jersey, NY Rangers, Philly, Washington 6 Lower Tier Teams (46-76 points) Individual Player Rankings in: Speed/Agility/Checking/ShPow/StH 86/66/46/26/6/0 Detroit*, NY Islanders, Quebec, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg * Detroit's stickhandling is different about half have 93/73/53/33/13 and half have 86/66/46/26/6 and then Federov has 60. Detroit and Hartford really should have been switched. 1 Expansion Team Individual Player Rankings in: Speed/Agility/Checking/ShPow/StH 13 players use the lower tier ratings, 3 use the middle tier, and 4 use the upper tier. San Jose The players seem purely fictional as I could not match anyone to anything in the dispersal or expansion draft. Also I think it was released before those events. Top 26 Players (based on overall) Mario Lemieux 94 Wayne Gretzky 92 Tomas Sandstrom 91 Ray Bourque 88 Theo Fleury 85 Sergei Makarov 84 Mark Recchi 83 Cam Neely 82 Gary Suter 82 Brett Hull 81 Jeremy Roenick 81 Paul Coffey 81 Mark Messier 79 Steve Yzerman 79 Al MacInnis 78 Doug Wilson 78 Petr Klima 78 Chris Chelios 77 Adam Oates 77 John Cullen 77 Steve Duchesne 77 Denis Savard 77 Ron Francis 76 Craig Janney 75 Steve Larmer 75 Brian Leetch 75
  21. yes. Ogrodnick is a wuss checking, but he can be hard to knock down. The guy I like for checking with the Rangers is Nicholls and it shows in his rating. I learned a lot from my Empty Net League (well except how to beat humans) and Nicholls was a beast. I think the checking rating is most important for checking (amazing idea huh) and weight is the most important thing to not be knocked down. So under my assumption Nicholls (93) would be your best checker, followed by Patrick (73) and Gartner (73) AND Ogrodnick (212) would be the toughest to knock down followed by Patrick (188) and Gartner (180) The Oilers should be loaded just poor coaching I guess #5 (Smith) 220/ 93 #22 (Huddy) 212/33 #11 (Messier) 212/ 73 #10 (Tikkanen) 196/73 #8 (Murphy) 180/73 All the info shows in NOSE. It is really nice how they did it and mostly based on stats. Except Speed, Agility, Shot Power, and Stickhandling. Which are very random.
