  1. True, that i believe with our two lineups With all that speed and shooting ability, i agree there will be a lot of fun to be had.
  2. Man, i dont know about those trades BHF made, sure Granato is a good pick up, especially for BHF with all that speed, but giving up ranford means he will have the likes of Don Beaupre in net, im not sure if BHF can play offense all game. And then he trades Sweeney for Bourque, as a guy who has had both, id take Sweeney in a heart beat over Bourque,i know that BHF likes his big slapper, but it makes the back end that much softer in the windy city, especially when bourque goes on one of his random up ice escapades. I personally dont like the trades and i think Carse made out like a bandit, but we will just have to see if BHF will prove me wrong and i wouldnt be suprised if he did.
  3. 4.10 The New York Islanders bring aboard Mike Richter
  4. Its not just you EA, nearly twice as many teams this season picked 3 forwards when compared to last season ,it was 9 to 5, so forwards are flying off the shelf since goalies are going at an identical pace. I'm not sure if its overconfidence in manual goalie as it is different draft strategy, weight buggers are going a lot faster this time around so guys are more focused on limiting shots and chances as compared to having a goalie who can shut the door since in comparison there are less goalies who can do that than forwrards who can hit. As far as dmen...were getting into that meaty part of the selection where you either go for the dude with offensive flare, or one of the plethora of nearly identical clones in that 50-65 range. So guys can hold off on those a bit longer it would seem and thats the way they are drafting.
  5. 3.18 The Winnipeg Jets welcome Petr Svoboda
  6. 3.15 The isles happily bring aboard Nicklas Lidstrom
  7. 3.13 The Rangers select Al Iafrate
  8. Congrats on the division title, when you gonna raise the banner?
  9. i should be on AIM a good amount tomorrow, if you want to send me a list, Im me, PM me, or send it to angryjay93@sbcglobal.net
  10. Before i found the site i had actually been playing NHL 94 on the emulator since 1999, i remember myself sitting in Biology class in high school for a couple days creating schedules and player lists for my own seasons agaisnt the cpu. Then off and on id be playing NHL 94 according to the seasons i had created. But playing against the AI was only so entertaining for so long, i thought for a while i was the only guy in the world still playing this game and that i was doomed to never play against any legit competition since none of my friends ever played it. But then one day when i was just talkin crap with a couple of my buddies about NHL 94 for whatever reason and i decided to put it into the search engine and lo and behold i found this site, i was in amazement, never in the world did i ever think i would find something anything like this. When i got home to my own computer i checked out every little thing i could find on the site and i looked at all the leagues, started taking down AIM names and i played my very first game against addisonbr...he handed me my own head on a platter in a 7-2 beat down. After that i decided that this was something i wanted to get into, so i did what i thought would be the best thing possible, i'd start playing guys in Gens B fall league (since it was october 2006 when i found the site) and i learned the ropes there, i was playing very competitively in that level, so i started messaging A leaguers, they showed me i still had a lot to learn, but i showed them i had a lot of potential, with the help of a lot of guys such as matthurray, addison and a few others were able to help me convince Evan i was worthy of being a replacement coach in A league, after that, things just kind of took off. And thus the story of AJ was begun.
  11. Also, dont forget that you can give draft lists to i or donch, one of us should be able to make your pick on time, so if you got a list, hand it over if your not going to be available but still want to make your pick on time.
  12. 2.48 THe Philadelphia Flyers select Gary Suter to conclude round 2.

  14. Since it seems evident that we will be finished with round 2 by thursday, donch and i felt it made sense to move the 3rd round up to november 1 thus basically cutting the draft time in half.
  15. I like to run and gun myself, i just think the philosophy behind it is different because i think most every guy with 5 speed is too fast and hard to reign in outside of a select few. And your spot on about Oates, if he lived up to his rating, hed be a sure fire 1st round pick every draft.
  16. you got a good point smoz, gretzky would be a good fit on my line. I dont see much weakness in 4 speed though...if i remember right, ive never drafted a guy below 3 or above 4 speed.
  17. Lets look at the 'ol AJ drafting guide here... Oates-A deft top tier passer with solid skating skills and solid awareness in the offensive zone. While not a massive physical presence, he isnt exactly a liability either. His main weakness lies in his shooting which is lackluster at best, with only a mediocre shot and decent skating, his deking skills are rather somewhat limited. A solid pick up, if you already have a big goal scorer and physical presence on your team. Draft Analysis: A solid round 2-3 pick up Gretzky-While not quite as skilled as his nick name would lead you to believe, Gretzky is among the elite passers in the game as well as a massive physical force on the ice. His amazing agility rating paired with a solid speed rating allow Gretzky to dictate the tempo of a game when paired with the right linemates. But like many of the top tier passers in this game, Gretzky's weakness lies within his shot...his horribily pathetic shot which wont put fear into any team. While Gretzky's shot is lackluster, his other attributes make him a piece worth building a solid franchise around. Draft Analysis: Late 1st rounder-early 2nd round So what do you guys think about the Sandstrom-Robatille combo?
  18. 2.10 The New York Islanders select Lucky Luc Robatille to give the Isles a big 1-2 punch up front
  19. Well its 7 days, and i dont have the...ill shut up now actually...
  20. go for it, id like to make my pick tonight, doesnt seem like it will happen.

  22. Considering only one pick was made today, i dont think it would be wise to move the draft up and have it start on saturday morning...im looking more towards sunday now depending on how things materialize today.
  23. My first feeling when i saw this thread was that it wouldnt be that great of idea because it would be difficult to let everyone know that the draft had moved up and there would be a lot of skipped picks. But if guys are really that big on making sure people know whats coming up, then thats fine by me, i should be able to get a new schedule done by saturday morning, atleast for round 2 and post it up for people. Also, if we go to the timed picks by tomorrow, people can feel free to PM or e-mail their draft lists to angryjay93@sbcglobal.net and i will make sure one way or another, your pick gets posted.
  24. 1.15 The New York Islanders select the true finnish flash...Tomas Sandstrom.
  25. well in theory you have 9 days to draft But you dont have to hold things up either your right, it isnt over, but the 1st round order doesnt change, plus, i dont think the top picks would change their picks despite it being hyrbid or snake...i think it applies more to guys in the latter part of the 1st round.
