  1. I've edited only the Sega CD version in the past and I was able to make each team have 2 goalies, even the teams with 1 goalie. Of course for most of you this is old news but 2 goalies should be enough. Increasing the roster size I think is impossible unless someone got the source code for NHL 94 for the SCD.

  2. These point are in my humble opinion only :)

    Sega had a better joypad

Snes felt like the level was a bit higher

    Sega had USER RECORDS

s**t....you guys are making me so curious on that Sega CD version!!!!

I've seen some downloads here on this site but I simply didn't had any clue how to get that to work....even after reading the read me

You can get the Sega CD version to easily work on your Sega CD system, all the files are on the main site. If you go here:

    http://www.nhl94.com/html/editing/edit_iso...y_on_segacd.asp

That will tell you how to burn the ISO image to make it work in your Sega CD. Also, if you have the CD, you can boot that with GENS, just make sure PERFECT SYNCRO is on in the CPU menu. That applies for running the ISO image or the CD itself.

  3. The Sega CD unit here:

    and the unit here:

will both play NHL 94 just as well. Get whichever one you can get your hands on.

They also make a few other hard to find units but the most common (if i can say that) is called a JVC X'Eye

That one plays all Genny games and Sega CD games but it doesn't work with the 32x.

They have some more info on the system here:

  4. Sega CD systems in the US

Sega CD systems (Mega CD) in the UK

    At Half.com

    Ebay store

Ebay is a obvious place to go look for a Sega CD system but once you have played 94 on it you will know, 94 junkies like me and a few others on this site know as well that the CD version is worth getting your hands on. Playing the game online via the ROM version is awesome but you owe it to yourself to get an original system. Plus they do make a few other good titles for the CD attachment.

  5. Those are all things that all of us here would love to have in a hockey game. Heck, the reason why we went to great lengths to edit NHL 94 is because new hockey games fail to play like a hockey game should, not many have even come close. I'd be happy with NHL 94 for the Sega CD that had NHL 95 SNES options.

  6. Yeah, they kinda came up short when they put NHL 94 into ONLY the PS2 version and none of the others and didn't make it online capable. I think they were trying to make up for putting out crappy hockey games in the past but what they could have done is made a new kinda NHL 94 on it with new rosters and all that.

Another way to play 94 on your PS2 is to use this device: I don't have it but I hear good things
