    Any update on dcicon vs seth series? I've seen seth on a few times, and I know his controller busted last night, but it'd be nice to have you guys set up a time to play. Only two series left in classic!

    - Borrowing the brother's controller adapter today while I wait for a new one to arrive.

    - Yes, we should set up a couple of specific time slots/days that we're both available.

    - I can make myself available from 8:30-10:30 EST on the following nights over the course of the next 5-6 days.

    Fri, Sat, Tue,. Wed. Also, Sat/Sunday during the afternoon/early evening (2pm-6pm)

    Oh, and possibly tonight as well.

    I've been as patient as I can. So has Minpin. We were just sitting here for weeks with our thumbs up our asses. I have nothing against Dscion & JL as people, but as players in a league, it's just a dick move (aka inconsiderate) to not make the effort to get a single game in. So my frustration with this situation led to my rant. If this was an A division or GDL, people would be throwing hissy-fits left & right. But no matter the level, we all put our time in and most of us don't like seeing a season end like that.

    And Plabber, my signature below has been pretty much the same since I joined the league. I just took out the word "future".

    That's pretty ballsy to come out with this, also Mogilny racked up 13 points in 4 games against you in the regular season.... Don't Let Your Mouth Write A Check That Your Ass Can't Cash

    Bring it kid. You've been slacking because it's in your best interest. Let's do a best of 7. I'll even give you a 2-0 series lead. I could give two F's who is pulling for who or what anyone in here thinks. I'm the best in B this season and I'll pound you Dscion. I've been waiting over two weeks for you 2 to play your series. You held me up and Minpin, while you do who knows what. You don't contact anyone like Raph or Chaos about this, just let it die seemingly unnoticed? And me calling you out on that is ballsy? Haha. You and that other clown still stuck in your unstarted series don't even belong in GDL if you don't complete a playoff series that like EVERYONE else does.

    Sure, you can look at the Playoffs page and see that there in fact wasn't even a finals played. Dscion & Jaylighter420 haven't played a single game of their series, which could have started after June 16th. However, if they did play it out, Dscion would win (no offense JL). Then Uncle Seth would sweep Dscion in a hard fought series, with Mogilny being held to less than half of the points-per-game he had in the reg season. Next, Uncle Seth would play Minpin in the B1-B2 finals. That is where Seth wins the series 4-1 Minpin, but with most games decided by a goal or two. Congrats to Seth for taking the crown and to runner-up Minpin.

    For excitement (which is what this thread is about) it's Bure, hands down IMO. Stickhandled and deked as good as anyone, and did it at top speed....which was way faster than anyone else's top speed with the puck. Oh, and he could score at will. Not to mention, I don't know of anyone who scored more breakaway goals. Yes, he was selfish, but that just meant he had to go through the whole team, which he could. And with all those hundreds of goals, he never really had a guy to set him up. He just did it all himself, offensively speaking.

    I just played an exi w/out penalties. I felt helpless on the defensive side of things. I managed a few B-checks, but definitely a huge difference. Noticed it immediately.

    So yeah, I'd rather have penalties on and be able to B-check.

    I just wish there was a way to make it so that the only penalties you get are ones that you actually commit, not the computer too.

    Wow, no B check with penalties off? What a weird one. What on earth would cause that?!

    I personally hate the penalties. They're not consistent. The programming on why a penalty might be called seems totally random. You can play as dirty as you like & you won't take more penalties than trying to keep it clean. On top of that the AI is just dumb. You could be comfortable & winning by a goal in the 3rd, or 1 down on a come back with all the momentum and all of a sudden the idiots on your team start taking penalties costing you the game. It's so ridiculous because there's just no realistic, sensible reason for it, apart from what seems to be the AI trying to f#*% with the outcome. How often in real life, in a situation where everything's going well, you're on top & in control would your players start committing off the puck penalties to sabotage your chances? Just silly.

    Thing is, how can you take the B check away from people?

    Penalties have to stay i'm afraid :(

    some new players expressed that they were pissed being stuck getting rapons from vets... and my guess is a lot of them are the ones that went missing after 10 games.

    Yaa.. seth is the worst at that... he can be down or up 5 goals, but if his winger takes a penalty with 20 secs left in game he has to sub someone in & change lines around

    I have OCD!

    Btw, Carse does it waaaaaaaaaay more than me, and even if they're isn't a penalty being called. Carse takes the cake. Or I think he likes to be called Le Carse.

    We all have our own opinions about what we like/dislike about a league format and rules. Personally, I think penalties are dumb and frustrating simply because most of the time the infraction is committed by the computer. Hard hits result in penalties, boooooooo! Oftentimes I can hold an opposing player for 5 seconds and rarely get called. Or ram the goalie all day with no call. Most of all though, my gripe is that penalties really slow down the game due to the obvious stoppage in play, plus any line-up changes that may be warranted for those 2 minutes. Then when the penalty is over, you have to switch back to the player you had in the position in the first place.

    I believe it is mostly luck who gets penalties and who doesn't. That bothers me in a game like 94, in which almost everything is controllable by you. It can be a tight game all the way till the end, then your own players (controlled by the computer) take penalties behind the play that result in a 5-3 for the last 2 minutes of the game. Takes the fun out of it if you're the guy getting called, and it really isn't fair if your manual controlled player didn't commit the act. And who the hell played w/penalties as a kid? 5% of us? Am I alone in wishing the classic league had penalties completely off? Ok, I had to rant.

    PS, there should be a vote/poll on stuff like this.
