  1. hmm. I'm not sure why I had 4-on-4, then. also, goalie control is a must and weight bug fix is a must. I found it pretty annoying to see names like Defenseman. just call him Bobby Trufant or Jimmy Permann or Toby Hinzor. it's not like we know these kids you play against, anyway. if you could research the other teams' full rosters, that would be better. I made a ROM with full rosters or scrubs. 25 ratings in everything. it was surprisingly playable. I think if you gave your players 25-50 ratings -- with a rare 72 or 67 for the guys you expect to see playing professionally in a few years -- it would be a much more realistic (and better) game. again, great concept. it's obvious that you put some serious (and quick) effort into this. keep working on it.

Actually I had a finished game but restarted because I wanted to use 94 instead of 93, so almost all week, when I wasn't at summer camp, I was non stop working on this rom

So like the fifty goal scorers of the league get up to 72, while the bad teams have an average of 25, and the teams who had an early play-off elimination and also just missed the post season have 35, and the teams that lost in the semi finals have 40, the league runner up has 45, and the champs get 50. But some of the teams, I just looked up online so what about them?
  3. pretty good stuff. I wasn't able to delve too far into this because I have that problem with Sega emulators that I've had with NES emulators. it just can't map any directional commands from my controllers correctly. I have another one to try, so I will, but I wanted to respond with my initial impressions.

4-on-4. is that how y'all really play? pretty cool. more open ice.

great use of colors. nice uniforms and ice color.

it seems like you have the fatigue set as quick and hard to recover from and I like that a lot. I don't play much Sega, so I'm not sure you changed anything like that, but it seems about right.

plenty to work on. get the player cards to show up in the menu. edit the team logos. fill out those rosters with real people! have you done any physics editing? I think you could lower the skills/ratings of nearly everybody, as I imagine y'all dont play at an NHL level.

good stuff! it's great to have another dedicated hacker here! keep making progress. read those edit threads and practice the hacking. you have the start of a great game. stick with this project.

No If its 4 on 4 it glitches. But I guess since we are all 5 feet tall in my age group, that is the amount of ice we have
  4. having our hacking applications advanced another generation would be great. it's a good idea, but the effort may be better spent convincing somebody new to make an application that does these things. I'm pretty sure the folks that made our tools are not actively working on them anymore. I hope I'm wrong and I hope the SNES editor source code is recovered, but I suspect it would be easier/quicker to find somebody like Steveyzerman to work on such a project. our community doesn't have many real hackers and developers, so it may be necessary to seek assistance from people in other SNES hacking communities.

    Thanks I will pm him

  5. It would be a nice tool to have...something that makes changing banners and logos as easy as changing ratings in NOSE. Maybe convince someone that this would be a great project, maybe for a school project or something. Note: I have no idea about programming curriculum so I'm talking out of my @$$.

Since I am in 6th grade next year, and I am learning to code on codeacademy.com, I may eventually get the skill.

  6. I said that because l think he thinks Auto Goalie is the norm here. In SNES an Auto Goalie shootout tournament winner will be whoever hits the post the least, Don't really think it would be fun to sit through 17 rounds of watching the same move go in until someone hits the post.

Especially after your ranting of TheScore tournament with Auto Goalie and GDL 93, there is no doubt my comment is only going to improve his tournament, and not make it worse.

Also I forgot to mention it was also on genesis so you could play in the genesis division instead of snes if that's easier

Well, what's an 11 year old supposed to think?!? I have been playing 94 (Well had 93 first I think) since I can remember and have always used auto goalie.

  8. there are other places for that discussion and I've certainly seen that comment before. read the Ninety Flow threads for more on all of that. and of course you are free to hit me with any and all comments.

did you make yourself the star of your team in your ROM? when I first got into hacking this fine game, it was so I could put myself in the place of one of the scrubbier Rangers. I figured I'd need to replace a guy with the same length name. then I found that I could do MUCH more with relative ease and I haven't stopped working on my ideal ROM, yet. I did, however, give up on keeping myself "in the game." I will try your ROM when you have in "done." keep at it!

Wait, no check my other topic, I'll have the rom done!

Check back on this tonight TruDatMan, I'll have it done! :)

Yeah it would be an honor to have you try my rom! It will be done soon, preferably by Wednesday! I actually am logged into a daily presentation at 12:30 on Wednesday at my summer camp! They want more computers kids showing their work.
