hokkee had a plan to neutralize Wayne Gretzky and keep him from doing some damage, so Iceguy94 decides to mix things up with the lineup for these games (Just like real life NHL coaches do).

On the first game, the Blues managed to score with 2 short-handed goals made by Brian Bellows and Joe Mullen, but the Caps' early lead was too much to overcome and Dino Ciccareli sealed the deal in the waning minutes of the 3rd period.

Caps 5-3

In the second game Ciccareli made his 2nd straight hat trick, but it wasn't enough this time as the team effort made by the Blues with 2 goals each by Peter Bondra and Mullen pushed off the Caps. Brian Leetch and Garth Butcher made 2 assists and Bellows was the pointman for St. Louis.

Blues 5-4

At St. Louis, the Blues were geared up for a win, but the performance made by Wendel Clark proved to be devastating for St. Louis as he scored all of the Caps' goals. Brian Leetch made sure they didn't come away with the shutout.

Caps 4-1

With a different lineup combining scoring and checking power, the Blues played hard, scored first blood and had a lead that they never let go, despite Ciccareli's 3rd hat trick of the postseason. Led by Grant Fuhr's valiant efforts and 3 points made by Bellows, Mullen, Dirk Graham and Butcher, the Blues win.

Blues 5-3

The Capitals return home looking for some blood and this time around it was a defensive effort made by both teams. Clark and Cicarelli scored once each for Washington in the 1st period, but were since then contained for the rest of the game. Peter Bondra scored on a brlilliant power play and Fuhr played the better game, but the Blues couldn't muster the tying goal despite earning 3 more power plays in the final period.

Caps 2-1

At St. Louis, the fans cheered their hearts out for their Blues in an exciting game. Clark scored first, but Glen Wesley and Bondra got the Blues on top with goals that took Patrick Roy by surprise. The combined efforts of Ciccareli and Clark fought out the Blues who didn't go away and even with Nelson Emerson scoring close to the end, the Blues couldn't get the last goal in the waning moments of the game. So close, yet so far...

Caps 4-3

I didn't know that hokkee was banned. No news, no nothing! Sorry to keep you in the dark with our scores.
