fank009
Will be updated as soon as draws goes up... But good news, I have been able to formulate a good mathematical model to determine The Starting odds.
Bo Knows NHL94
Will be updated as soon as draws goes up... But good news, I have been able to formulate a good mathematical model to determine The Starting odds. Does it involve doing the Fanky Panky? fank009
(just a note, I have b2 ready, waiting for the draw... unfortunatley, too many players in A = too much work to solve manually (unless someone can help me out xD)
fank009
Im going to put B2s "starting" odds in, Will put B1s starting odds in later... and will bring in "current" stats for each league B2 Starting odds to Win (B2) Dallas wittgenstein $9.29 Pittsburgh matticefire $9.65 Quebec marchawg $10.12 St louis Fank009 $10.32 New Jersey singelmamma $10.47 Detroit tommy1978 $10.95 Boston the1jasontaylor $11.00 Montreal dumpnchase $11.00 Toronto Lash $11.00 Chicago BlackDevil19 $12.22 NY Rangers Kero5hin $19.37 *these odds are based Solely on Mathematical values, Teams are not taken into account when comparing potential skill or matchups from past experience. (I dont have a mathematical formula for the difference between Pitt and Anaheim) Edited April 8, 2013 by fank009
the1jasontaylor
Does a lower dollar amount indicate better odds to win? I'm curious as to your formulas/methodology, seems interesting!
fank009
Yes, the lower the dollar the better the odds ($= payout per $1 bet, thats how that works) Does a lower dollar amount indicate better odds to win? I'm curious as to your formulas/methodology, seems interesting! The formula used (in this instance) is 1st i create a head to head base, using all the posibilities in the league. For each person its calculated as follows (%overall + % head to head)/ (1+% of both players) that creates the expected % of how many times x beats y, A note with the head to head calculations, previous teams arent used. The overall % calculations are swayed a bit too if a person plays gens... and can also be inaccurate if he was placed in a bad league the previous season. The next step, is to get all the values for a player, and sum them, do them for each player, and take the proportion of the players sum over the total sum, to create decimal odds, inversing that will create the $ odds
the1jasontaylor
Interesting approach, thanks for clarifying. Thanks for this!
fank009
(EDIT: after a reliasation about the unreliability with numbers, im prolly going to hold on to all odds until playofs time, when the numbers are fairly represnetitive)
