Canucks start with a bang

The Vancouver Canucks came into LA for the season opener with only a bit of confidence after going 8-15 in the preseason.

During the first two periods, the Canucks (well, pretty much just BrindAmour and Bure), scored 4 goals to go up 4-0. In the third, the Canucks avoided a scare after the Kings scored 3 unanswered goals but Barrasso managed to hold on for the win.

The Canucks came into their home opener with a ton of confidence after the 4-3 win over LA. But the game that was coming up was harder than they thought. Detroit's Rick Tocchet opened the scoring and then it pretty much went back and forth between Detroit and Vancouver until the third. The score was 4-3 Detroit with 1:58 to go when the Russian Rocket scored on the PP to tie it up. The game went to OT where the infamous AIM incident (unintentionally) occured. The unexpected unpause to resume play caught thegr8199 off guard and Gary Suter made a check and brought the puck up the ice. BrindAmour had it behind the net and sent it in front to Bure who potted home the game winner and sent a furious Detroit team home. Vancouver was now 2-0 and very excited with their first two wins. Barrasso had this to say after the win, " This game was anything but pretty, but we got the job done and I'm proud of everyone. Bure stepped up when we needed him most and he did what needed to be done."

The Vancouver Canucks came into Anaheim a little bit too cocky though. The great division battles between dmac and DaDonch started with a bang. Vancouver lost the game 7-6 in a thriller. Anaheim went up 7-3 just 1:44 into the third but the Canucks didn't give up without a fight. Pavel Bure quickly scored two in less than 30 seconds apart. Gary Suter scored a late PP goal with just 28 seconds to go to make it 7-6 but that wasnt enough as the time ticked down and Anaheim came up with a thrilling win.

Interesting facts:

- Pavel Bure has got a point in every goal scored by the Canucks except for Gary Suters last goal

- All three of the Vancouver Canucks games so far have been decided by one goal
