  1. With Classic winding down and before SDL I was hoping to try out an SDL(SNES Draft League)-style league but using my All-Time Rosters(ATR) ROM instead. Here is the player draft list for your review prior to the draft. I've also attached my latest ATR 4.3 ROM if you wanted to try the players out. Some things to note: 12-round non-snake draft with B/A divisional order Each lineup will consist of 6F, 4D, and 2G Each coach will play 2(1 home/1 away) games outside of their division and 4 games(2H/2A) within their division. Single league of coaches split by A/B division where everyone plays each other but playoffs will be split for A/B Post your desired team here or in the Discord channel. First come, first serve on teams. I'm reserving Boston . I'm keeping this to the existing teams in the default 94 template(i.e. not updating Quebec to Colorado or anything like that). The team advantages will be the same for all teams just like SDL Penalties on, except offsides Manual goalie No line changes Playoffs: Top 6 teams from each division will make their divisional playoffs. Each round is 7 games. The top 2 teams in each division get a first-round bye. Seeds 3v6 and 4v5 will square off in round one. Each round will re-seed. Lowest ranked winner will play #1 seed in round two. Other winner will play #2 seed. Next two winners playin the Championship. If there is a tie in points, most games played will be the first tiebreaker, then overall goal differential, then overall GAA, then overall Save % Let me know if I missed anything or if anyone had additional questions. 2. Wow this is wild! It's awesome you can play a season mode in your browser. It was tough to control but probably takes a little time. Ctrl to pass and Spacebar to shoot. The only goal I scored in the one period I played was a pass from my goalie end to end haha.
  3. Nice to see a few of those buds actually came back
  4. Any chance of bringing this back for '23? Couldn't make it to Ko94 in Toronto this year. Would be awesome if there was another East Coast tourney.
  5. Released version 4.3. See OP for details.
  6. Not sure if you wanted to add my All-Time Rosters ROMs(wgt bug and wgt bug fix) or not. I never got around to updating logos/player portraits/jerseys and realistically probably never will due to lack of time and the knowledge gap. However, the rosters, lines, and teams are all there and it's 100% playable. Looks like there have been 100+ downloads of each ROM. Up to you @kingraph. If anyone in the community wanted to update those feel free to do so.
  7. Thinking about running a dynasty league soon using all 9 ROMs. Stay tuned.... 92-00 NHL Team Breakdown.pdf
  8. I've always wished I could play the whole EA hockey series from 92-00 with the feel of NHL 94 so I made this project for everyone to enjoy. Sadly, season mode, trades, or create-a-player features that appeared in later games are not present. However, I've compiled the rosters from the various games and made a SNES ROM for each year. ROM Notes: Extracted rosters from NHLPA 93 - NHL 98 from Genesis(manually transcribed NHL Hockey (92) rosters by matching the jersey numbers in the ROM with players for that season and team using Hockey-Reference.com) and NHL 99 and 2000 from PC. Some games had a 0-15 attribute scale so I converted to 0-6 to match 94 Player Overall calculated using @kingraph’s player calculation Team Bonuses(Home/Away/PP/PK) were set based on their season’s stats Lines set based on top overall players for each team Team Overall for all ROMs updated(except All-Star and Easter egg teams) Trimmed every team in every ROM to 20-24 players(except ANH and FLA which are trimmed down to 18 players) by removing the worst overall players due to byte limitations I did not update jerseys and team colors for any teams in each ROM, except franchise team changes, noted further below Player portraits updated for each ROM(only if they had one in 94) Adjusted menu matchup based on the previous year’s Stanley Cup Final teams ROM-specific adjustments: NHL Hockey(92)/NHLPA 93: Re-labeled All-Star teams to Campbell and Wales Updated Dallas Stars to Minnesota North Stars including team name, menu banner, and jerseys NHL Hockey(92): ANH contains the rosters from the Disney Mighty Ducks movies HOL(FLA) is Hollywood Hockey made up of players from Slap Shot, Youngblood, Mystery Alaska, and Goon EXP(OTW) is the Expansion team from my All-Time Rosters ROM SIX(TB) is the Original 6 team from my All-Time Rosters ROM Swapped NHL ice logo for HOL/EXP/SIX. Unable to swap menu logos yet NHLPA 93: ANH contains the rosters from the Disney Mighty Ducks movies HOL(FLA) is Hollywood Hockey made up of players from Slap Shot, Youngblood, Mystery Alaska, and Goon Swapped NHL ice logo for HOL. Unable to swap menu logos yet NHL 96: Compiled top players by overall for each conference for the two All-Star teams as there was no 94-95 All-Star game and no All-Star teams Corrected stick-handedness for many players by referencing NHL 94/NHL 95 NHL 97/NHL 98: Updated Quebec Nordiques to Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets to Phoenix Coyotes including team name, menu banner, and jerseys. Ice logo updated to NHL logo(unable to edit menu logo). Additionally, for NHL 98 I updated Hartford Whalers to Carolina Hurricanes including team name, menu banner, and jerseys. Ice logo updated to NHL logo(unable to edit menu logo). Playoff matchups updated where Colorado(Quebec) moved to the Western Conference Corrected stick-handedness for many players by referencing NHL 94/NHL 95 NHL 99 Updated ASE to Nashville Predators including team name, menu banner, and jerseys. Ice logo updated to NHL logo(unable to edit menu logo). Playoff matchups updated where Toronto moved to the Eastern Conference and added Nashville to Western Conference ASW contains a 50/50 combination of World and North American All-Stars NHL 2000 Updated ASW to Atlanta Thrashers including team name, menu banner, and jerseys. Ice logo updated to NHL logo(unable to edit menu logo). No All-Star teams as all 28 teams are being used Team Ranking PDFs are included in this post-Sorted by Overall Team Rating and then by Starting Lineup Rating Roster sheets are here if anyone wanted to use them for Gens or whatever: 92-00 NHL Rosters.xlsx 92-00 Team Rankings.zip 92-2000 ROMs.zip
  9. I may have misunderstood the menu logo posts above. Is that just for the menu logo palette or the entire logo itself? If it's just the palette, has anyone found where the menu logos themselves are?
  10. Hi @DominikJagr would you be able to post the complete offset values for menu logos here like you did with the center ice logos as I don't have access to your Google sheet? I'm using a headered ROM and having trouble following.
  11. I've been experimenting with this roster extractor tool myself. What's weird is the 96 and 97 CSV's spit out G and D for everyone. Forwards are included but listed as D. Kind of annoying but an easy manual fix in the export files. In the 98.csv I noticed Ray Bourque, for example, has a weight of 6 but in-game his weight matches fellow Bruins teammate Sandy Moger(10) as well as his weight the whole NHL series(10). I'm wondering what other oddities there are. I would love to use the 98 ROM for future leagues but I'm hesitant about its accuracy. What's strange is most of his other attributes seem accurate like O/D-Aware, SHP/SHA and PAS. I manually transcribed an NHL Hockey(91) CSV from the ROM in NOSE. The NHLPA 93-NHL 95 CSV's seem accurate. 96 and 97 are complete after I changed the various D's to F where necessary. 98 remains the lone issue. If you want I could post the completed CSV's here, which include any 0-12 or 0-15 conversions to the 0-6 94 rating format(not sure what the format is for 95-I can't remember).
  12. With SDL dwindling down we're getting ready for the next SNES league. I am running a Salary Cap league where you put together a team of your choice and stay under the cap. This season we will be using my All-Time Rosters(ATR) rom containing the greatest players from each franchise. How it works is everyone builds their own team using a pricing sheet I have come up with sorted mostly by overall with some adjustments based on player weight. For anyone familiar with my previous Salary Cap leagues- I am removing the rule from previous seasons where a team would need to have a top and bottom player having a difference of no more than $40. However, I've created a new, hopefully, more flexible rule where a single bench player(4F or 3D) needs to be a minimum of $60. I'm also adding a second goalie but with an extra $60 to the cap to bring it to $800. The template below includes the Price List as well as a Team Template tab for you to experiment with two lineups, as well as an example team I created to show you for reference. Download a copy for yourself to create your own lineup: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oMhnH2VmJKL-Sil8ZYoORvBXoTDmFCejWV7oGDuflvY/edit?usp=sharing Some things to note: Your lineup will consist of 6F, 4D, and 2G(new this season) using the ATR rosters Your team must be under the cap meaning $800 is the maximum salary your team can have. You don't have to spend the entire $800 if you choose not to. A bench player(4th F OR 3rd D) must be $60 or above(coach's discretion on which). 30 GP - Everyone plays every opponent 6 games each(3 home 3 away). I'm planning on having at least two divisions: A and B but may add C if there are a lot of signups Post your desired team here. First come, first serve on teams. I'm reserving Boston . I'm keeping this to the existing teams in the default 94 template(i.e. not updating Quebec to Colorado or anything like that). I'd be open to utilizing ASE and ASW if someone wanted. I'm not updating jerseys either this season. The team advantages will be the same for all teams just like SDL Penalties on, except offsides Manual goalie No line changes Submit rosters to me through Discord by Sunday night 7/24. I will be updating the ROM as the rosters are being submitted. Please submit your roster and lines using the following format: Line 1: LW-C-RW, LD-RD, G Line 2: LW-C-RW, LD-RD I will not be posting anyone's rosters publicly until all rosters are submitted to me. You will all find out once the ROM is finalized. Let me know if I missed anything or if anyone had additional questions. I will reserve everyone's season 1 teams(minus the actual players) unless you want to drop out, trade with someone else, or pick up a team that hasn't been used yet. Teams available: ANH, BUF, CGY, CHI, FLA, HFD, LA, NJ, NYI, SJ, STL, TB, WSH, WPG Teams: BOS @kidswasted DAL @stewy DET @Straka82 EDM @dcicon5148 MTL @annatar NYR @Mooney OTW @Bob Kudelski PHI @TheWiz84 PIT @dangler QUE @McMarkis TOR @TheProfessor VAN @koke_45
  13. I just noticed this over the weekend on the Nintendo store. I forgot about this a few years back. I might pick it up on the switch since there are practically no hockey games on the console.
  14. Uploaded updated ROM version 4.2 which fixed some player names and player handedness.
  15. Alright buds it's time I finally run a SNES All-Time Rosters(ATR) league using my ATR ROM. I have attached the ATR ROM to practice with and explore as well as the team rankings and the entire roster list in CSV format. This will be team draft, not a player draft. I will run a player draft in the future. The league signup deadline is 2/6. We will conduct the team draft sometime during that week but won't start the season until at least the SDL playoffs begin. This gives you time between now and the draft to test teams as well as time to practice your drafted team before the season starts. Draft order will be randomized using a draft randomizer website. There will be A, B, and C divisions. If you have a preference please let me know. Otherwise I will place you into the division I think you're suited for. Every team will play each other 6 times(3 home/3 away). A and B divisions will play a 42-game season. C division has 9 teams with a 48-game season. The team advantages will be the same for all teams just like SDL and Salary Cap. Penalties on, except offsides Manual goalie No line changes Top 4 in each division will make the playoffs with a Bo7 for each series Playoff tie-breakers: Games played, head-to-head record, overall goal differential, overall GAA, overall Save % All-Time Greatest Rosters Team Ranking - Sheet1.pdf All-Time Rosters Game-Ver4.2.smc ATRv4 Default Rosters.csv
  16. Apparently there's a Slapshot iOS app too: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/slapshot/id475515609
  17. I won Classic B with the following lineup: LW Robitaille-C Sandstrom-RW Carson LD Sydor-RD Blake Some games Carson or Robitaille would be too slow and I'd sub Gretzky in for them. He's so tiny and has such a weak shot he's mainly just a setup man in SNES. However some A coaches have seen better success with his shot. Granato isn't a bad second replacement either with his 5 speed but his 3 stickhandling means he doesn't always catch passes successfully. Sydor was surprisingly agile(or at least controllable) on LD and could still crush people despite being a 9 weight. I received less penalties this season with McSorley on the bench. Sydor is a lefty and Blake being a righty had them playing on their natural sides. Having defensemen playing on their natural side in SNES has been noticed by this community over the past few years and seems to work well on faceoff breakouts with how the d-men curl. Blake might be the best all-around defenseman in the game IMO. I'm glad I was able to play as them after passing them up for Buffalo the previous season and finished dead last.
  18. Here’s the main link with the ROM located on the far right of the page. http://www.nhl94online.com
  19. I realized I never followed up on my previous post. The Pocketgo S30 is really great. Having it during work meetings or long road trips is awesome. I play to practice 94 on both Gens and SNES but it can play pretty much every console from Atari through some N64, Dreamcast, and PS1 but I don't recommend it. I can't remember if it came with a microSD card or not but they're pretty cheap to buy. The microSD card stores the ROMs(which you will need to download yourself) and pops right into a slot. I guess it's modeled after 8bitdo's SN30 gamepad. I had to update the emulators as the ones that come with the handheld aren't the best. However it's extremely easy to do. With the Simple 30 update mentioned below it comes with Retroarch so it should be familiar to most of us here. There is no WiFi for this model although some different models may have it. The sound isn't the best but it's not bad either. It comes with a headphone jack in case you want to play in bed and don't want to wake your partner up lol. After playing for a few hours my fingers and hands start to get cramped but I'm rarely ever playing more than an hour. The screen looks great especially after the Simple 30 update below. Here are the official specs: Quad Core 1.2GHZ AllWinner A33 CPU 512MB RAM Mali400 MP2 GPU 2600 MAH Battery (5 HOURS) 3.5″ IPS Display (480 X 320) USB-C Charging Headphone Jack I purchased it last year from RetroMini here for $59 USD but it looks like it's currently sold out. However there are alternative models on there. Amazon used to have it for $89 USD but it's also sold out there. eBay might have it but not sure. Simple 30 update to update the emulators(includes video and guide)
  20. kidswasted - SNES/GENS Name, age, occupation, location, system Chris A, 34, Software Support for an EdTech company, New Hampshire(originally from Massachusetts), SNES and Gens What hobbies or other interests do you have? Hiking, listening to music, guitar, movies, video games, watching/playing sports, brewing and drinking beer(love hefeweizens) When did you get introduced to the game NHL'94? How did it happen? My cousin had 92(best intro music in the series. Reminds me of Road Rash). My older brother eventually got NHLPA 93 which had the player names and edit lines features. For some reason that was the last Gens EA hockey game we owned but my parents bought us 94 for SNES the next year. My next-door neighbor friends had 93 and 95 on Gens and 94 and 96 on SNES for some reason. We almost always played 93 Gens or 94 SNES just like I had at my house. 95 felt too fast and out of control so we always gravitated back to 93/94. We would play on almost a daily basis until about 2005 when we graduated high school and went off to college. What's funny is we would enable manual goalie and d-control in the menus but never figured out how to use either in-game although we didn't try very hard either. Both households apparently lost or threw out the game manuals and the internet was rather new. I would play 94 SNES every now and then on emulators over the years but mainly against the CPU. Although I've had almost 30 years experience with 94 SNES I had to learn how to utilize manual goalie on both consoles and one-timers in 94 Gens over the past 2 years as neither were present in NHLPA 93. When did you get introduced to nhl94.com and the online community? Were you playing between these two dates? (That is, between first becoming aware of game, and first becoming aware of nhl94.com.) I found this site when looking for the 94 rom one day around 2010. Then I found updates rosters and things like that which was amazing. I believe I joined around 2010 as that was then a requirement to download roms from the forums. I would come back almost annually for the latest roster updates but didn't join any leagues or anything. I finally dove in once I received a SoChel invitation through EventBrite where I ran some 5k's through in the past. What are a couple things that you love about the game? 10 minute real-time games, the fluidity of the skating, ease to play/difficult to master. I feel Gens is like chess while SNES is like checkers. I love both but Gens is more strategic with weights, different ways of scoring, etc. SNES is great to just pick up and play but still tough to master. It's more arcade-y to me which I love. Are you a gamer in general? What other games do you play? Yes I took a break for a few years in the mid 00s but came back to own every generation of Xbox. Feel free to add me(kidswasted). I typically play the perennial COD games as well as Fortnite, Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon, Far Cry, Rocket League, Sea of Thieves. I have EA Access too which provides 10 hours of gameplay for all EA games each year. I rarely make it the full 10 hours each year in NHL and Madden but still play from time to time. Do you follow hockey in real life? Any other sports? Yes I used to run a money fantasy league until it became too much of a burden. I still join random Yahoo leagues for fun. I follow the 4 main sports including the Six Nations rugby tournament(go Ireland) but baseball is dying for me. I don't catch as many live games as I used to outside of football. Bruins, Patriots, Celtics, Sox, Boston College fan here. If you have been to a live tourney, what was it like meeting the real people behind the screen names? Any big surprises? I have never been but would love to when COVID stops actin a fool. What is behind your screen name? (Origin story, if there is one.) I originally joined as BergieandFries47 to gain access to the custom roms. This was in reference to one of my favorite Bruins of all-time, Patrice Bergeron, and my love of french fries. However I updated it after the SoChel invite to kidswasted. Kidswasted started years ago with my family and friends as sort of a SMH replacement. If someone does or says something stupid or funny we would always say "wow kid's wasted". Favorite NHL94 player in game (and why)? Gens-Loved the Red wings on 93 as well as 94. I'd say Yzerman was my favorite on Gens growing up. I think JR or Bure are my current favorites. SNES-Neely/Bourque growing up. Sandstrom these days.
