  1. The next one I could find (I'm sure there was a whole lot of absolute s**t between this one and the first one, just never uploaded it)

When did I make it? Spring 2018

What are the rosters?  Mighty Ducks Triology Fictional Rosters

    • This one is actually pretty good, it's a full fledged remake of the "big games" from the old Mighty Ducks movies.
      • I'm not quite sure what else is playable, but the playoff mode should let you run through a "story" mode for each movie.
    • This one stands out since some podcasters actually talked about it, and I saw people playing it on Facebook Live at one point.
    • I've thought about going back to this one, probably would kick everything over to the 32-team rom and work at it a bit differently.

  2. The first ROM hack I ever made, NHAHA 13

When did I make it? Summer 2013

What are the rosters? 2012-13 NHAHA Rosters

    • Bare bones ROM hack that I thought about going back and "remastering", which is what led to this thread
    • Rosters "reflect" my U10 league I was playing in. A few generous ratings to friends on my team and others, a few spiteful ones to kids I didn't like.
    • There are no graphical changes other than uniforms. This is the beginning of my ROM hacking "career", and there was nowhere to go but up.

  3. Hi all!

I've been thinking of starting a thread like this for a while, mostly to be a self-serving journal of all of my ROMs. I wanted to set up a place to track my progress and see how things improve over time, put all of my project, keep a record of what projects got to what point, and also act as a back-up incase my computer dies, since I haven't uploaded all of my projects here.

Attached in each post is a .bin file, and a brief description of the ROM. There's some goodies that never made it onto the site, and some pretty weird stuff, so I figure I

My goal is to add something to this once or twice a month, since I want to make some more ROM hacks since I have nothing but time on my hands as a student during a pandemic.

edit: "retired" now, but thankful I made this to back up some other stuff I never posted because my last laptop died. forever grateful for the effort that goes into maintaining storage and access for this site/community.

    Hi all,

I wasn't really satisfied with the news so far on NHL 94 Rewind, and while I was complaining to a friend, he said "you couldn't do any better".

I took it as a challenge, and spent the better part of a week, and anytime I could turn my camera off during Zoom classes on this baby right here.

    1.0 Notes

    • 31 NHL teams, all in the style they were in 1993-94, or at the very least, with a bit of retro flair.
    • 1 team of all-stars from NHL 94, with 20 players all representing a different team. Not always the highest overall player, but just someone I thought would be fun.
    • 5 Easter Egg players.

    To Do:

    • Smozoma gave me some tips a few days to potentially conquer the mighty Winnipeg Freeze Bug...... I'll try my hand at it this week.
    • Update rosters, lines, and player cards once the season begins.
    • Add more challenging content over time, potentially over the All-Star team.
    • Try my best to rip the actual NHL 94 Rewind ROM from the game.

    End Credits

    • I used @Sauce's playoff ROM as a base, so some ratings overlap since I really like the way he structures things, and it uses @clockwise's sprite patch.
    • @slapshot67 gave us the 32-team ROM, so always need to thank him when the opportunity arises.
    • SportsLogos.net and NHLUniforms.com were very helpful for this project.

I hope you enjoy, and have a little bit of 90s themed fun. Any and all feedback is welcome.

I set up first and second round as you suggested.
When set up like this you are always the Home Team.
I went with 15 second periods, with the goalie pulled and scored an own goal in each game.
I had to play 7 games in each round so it was a little time consuming.
I got what I wanted which was 4 team playoff bracket with the Cup skated at the end.
As an added bonus the team I was controlling had no stats when you got to the real games in round 3.

Awesome! It's not the most efficient, but if it works, it works. If your ROMs can somehow get even more immersive, I am certainly all for it.

  6. Not the most exciting way, but just a loophole I thought might work:

    • Set up first round as A vs A, A vs A, B vs B, B vs B, C vs C, C vs C, D vs D, and D vs D
    • Program the 0-second periods/instant overtime hack in as an option
    • Player plays the OT, even if they lose they'll stay in because the game will recognize their selected team and keep them
    • Real games would start in Round 3, with A vs B and C vs D, where player would then be able to play with real periods

I haven't tested it since it was just an idea off the dome, but it seems like it might work.

Any team that has 'Extra' players means they aren't on the roster but are on the cusp. If I add them who should I replace?

That's tough, maybe Palat over Purcell? Similar numbers in their best seasons, but Palat wears the A, was a solid part of every extended run Tampa has had. Still looks awesome man!

I would not necessary categorize NHL rinksters as a hockey mmo since you don't actually get to play a full hockey game that falls more in line with those kid casual virtual world games akin to club penguin which also had a hockey rink and a unofficial way to play hockey but you don't see that much major coverage of it on youtube and no one starting hockey leagues or holding tournaments or championships there besides club penguin wars and army battles. As for Kiekko, well.. that is more of so a stick skill based online hockey game kind of up there with Hockey Question Mark and the other Slapshot (which has no relation to slapshot underground and made by a entirely different developer) you know due to the lack of interest of adding body checking or decent physics and stuff like that.

Slapshot is releasing a sequel/update, have you seen that? Hopefully it’s good.

If no one has had any concerns with your connection from the summer salary cap league then I think you’re okay to continue in this league if you want. Let me know. Thanks!

Rereading, I wasn’t very clear. I’m moving in the fall for school, so I won’t have Ethernet. I’d rather not leave it to chance with wireless, so I’m officially out for this league.

  10. Others worth noting: the NHL's own Rinksters, an attempt at copying NFL Rush Zone that lasted only a short while. There was also Upper Deck U, where you could crack open hockey cards to earn rewards, and hang out in a community with all 4 major North American sports. Kiekko.tk was also pretty big in Europe. I think there's some sort of sim league too, more so an MMORPG than a competitive MMO.

  11. I have to withdraw from whatever league I am being placed in. Unsure that I will have a wired connection this fall, and would rather not risk it. I will be able to close out Summer Salary Cap league, but just don't think I'll be able to plug in (literally) for the entirety of the classic season.

If this can be line changes off, I'm in as Quinnipiac

We were planning on going with line changes since it made things a bit more fresh, but I'll poll the group signed up so far to see how people would feel about turning them off.

Edit: Board of Govs met, they've been turned off. You're in.

  13. Hi all,

I've updated forum with first 12 hours of so of sign-ups, hopefully we get some more so we can set a cap at nice power of 2, so no one gets a bye. In the mean time, please download this version of the ROM for the tournament. The only difference is that OT is 100 minutes as opposed to 20, the menu is set to our default settings mentioned in the first post, and 3 Stars formula is updated for line changes.

If you haven't played online much before, I'd be happy to help some people set up tonight, but frankly I can't teach you anything the tutorials here can't already.

Please download the tournament version of the ROM so things can run smoothly once we get started, attached here: 2020 Frozen Four Tournament.bin
