AJ, is there anyway we can push up those dates a little for a 3/15 start date? When it's all said and done, the two week hiatus will be more like 6-8 weeks for most of use who didn't advance beyond the 2nd round. If not, I'm cool with an end of March date. Just starting to get the 'draft itch'. Thanks for taking the reins chief. Peace

I'd be down for a league when RIT is added to the ROM. Hometown college team. Def an up and coming program in DI We were a great team in DIII for many many years.

I like trying to align the leagues by GM locations (whenever possible). Matt Hurray suggested it on another thread and it makes a lot of sense. It should make the majority of games smoother. Also, is there a way to keep player stats similar to the GDL? That's a pretty cool element.

I'm totally down with AJ running the league. I'd like to offer my services towards decision makings/rulings. I've run fantasy football leagues for 10+ years so I have some decent experience dealing with conflict. I also stayed at a Holiday Inn last night so that just adds to my qualifications I'm open for a line change league but don't think the GDL is the place for it. I think I suggested doing a line change league on Hab's post about a new league. It definitely adds a new element to the game. Haven't played with them on in ages but have fond memories of those games. As for Carse, ya he definitely vented way too much and did offend the vast majority of the league. I wasn't 100% behind the final decision that was made but I understand these types of decisions can be difficult. I agree with Sebe that up front rules should be more clearly defined next season. When in doubt tho, play-in mini series are NEVER a bad idea when situations like this arise. Bottom line is I'd prefer to see Carse in season 4 with no penalties (and with full P2P capabilities). I think 20 is a solid number but that can be revisited based on the waiting list. It looks like there's a bunch of very good players fairly new to the community waiting to get in. MindDefect would be a very solid addition. For those guys wanting to get in and on the waiting list, best thing to do is be online OFTEN and hit up as many vets for practice games. This goes a long ways in getting into the GDL. I luckily got in based on doing this for a few months. Anyone know if KG is serious about sitting this season out too? Thats quite a laundry list of great players sitting out the next season. Damn, can't imagine a league without any of those 5 guys. It's like the having an NHL season without the majority of the Original Six teams. Just aint right. SKool, WTF you gots going on that ur not gonna play? ummmmmmmmmmm ya, like, I'd say just play a lot and play well. But great analysis and guidance Scribe. You're spot on bro. Imo you're gdl team was as complete a team as I've seen. But it all goes back to your style preference. My preference is having good speed up front, a shooter, and couple of light guys. At least one mobile D-man and one stay at home banger. Finally a decent goalie that can be easily controlled. As you mentioned when you get into games against more experienced players, your Goalie Control (GC) is critical to your success. Especially when you're finding your way offensively. I'd also suggest playing shootouts to get familiar with the movement of goalies etc. Bottom line, is have fun. Take your lumps initially and progress will begin to show. Understand some guys play all out the whole 15 minutes while others play just to fine tune their games. It's never personal if someone drops 10+ goals on you. (Unless you have a tendency to run your yapper, then its gets personal

You're spot on Habs (nice plug for 2on2 btw). I think playing 2 on 2 develops your defense a little better. You're forced to use one guy and get in better defensive position at all times. Join us................

Sounds good to me. Just wasn't sure what the typical turn around time is between GDL seasons. Figured if it was 3-4 months we could kill time doing this idea. Count me in BHF on a boatload of exi's. Jrod, if I only changed my boxers as much as my avitar, my wife might actually sleep in the same bed.

Hey what does everyone think of this idea. Since we already have the GDL season 3 ROM set up, why don't we have a 30 game season with 16 of the existing teams? Meaning the 16 teams who'd like to do the short season would do a draft of the existing teams. Only rule is you cannot select your old GDL team. Since my early exit in season 3 I've been playing with other peoples teams, and loving it. (Scribe your teams rocks man). Not sure how much work would be required to set it up with stats etc. Was hoping it'd be fairly easy and fill the void between season 3 and season 4. Any thoughts? Yays? Nays?

I didn't know Hokkee before this past GDL season, but dude seems pretty cool to me. We had a little run in yesterday that we solved amicably withing a few minutes. I think the old days are long gone man. BTW, nothing like a fist pound into the desk, works great on these peice o' crap particle boards desks

Brilliant idea Matty. Who we gots on the left coast? AJ, KingsCup, Dmac, Jrod....who else? I suppose to us East Coasters anything from Chicago west would qualify for the Western Conference.

If we decide to go the route of a Tribunal, I'll volunteer to do the deadlines, decisions etc. I'm not technically skilled by any means, but I think i'm a decent problem solver and communicator etc.

I recommend we have 24 teams again. Everyone plays 46 games except Hokkee. He has 1,058 games. We all play Hokkee 46 times. This way Hokkee will always be too busy playing games then posting messages
