  1. I see NHL 2006a being played all the time in net play, usually at around 10:00 PM all the way up to 3:00 AM!

Getting that cable hook-up on Saturday, I will contact you then for sure.

Oh yeah, do you prefer NHL 2006a or the original NHL 94?

I'm currently playing 94 and just recently played one of the league guys in two spectacular games. Hope to hear from you soon.

  2. NHL '94 isn't popular enough to have people sitting in the major Kaillera servers at all hours waiting for a game, unlike a lot of the Kawaks and Final Burn Pro fighting games. Your best bet is to try and get AIM contact info for people who like to play it. As far as servers go, in the USA the games mostly take place on the Anti3D.com or GodWeapon servers.

    You wanna play tough guy?

  3. In the quest for competion I am issuing a challenge to ANYONE, ANYTIME. Please just email me @ jriley@nyc.rr.com with a exact time and netplay server and I'll be there. I will play everyone at their convenience and have a great business road runner connection. I know I should be using AIM or Hotmail but this is just a supplement to get games every now and then. If I beat you too bad you can always play Manowar who is trying to regain his touch. (He'll probable beat most of you too after a while so get em while he's still rusty ) But really were just a couple of guys who recently just started playing again and would like to play as many people as we can find who DON'T mind taking beatings. (Hoping to get a rise out of those that would like to prove us wrong thats all :) Please reply if your interested and if not than what the hell are you doing on this site? NICE!

  4. This thread appears to be heating up but I do agree that NHL94 was ALWAYS cool and will remain to be so. Desynching when your losing is ALWAYS uncool and lead to people getting bad reps. Take your losses like a man and get better! Anybody wanna play email me @ jriley@nyc.rr.com and I'll play anyone, anytime........

  5. 1.) You should always play with penalties especially offsides.

2.) Line changes gives you a more relistic game albeit a less exciting one.

3.)10 mins period is a good time length since it allows people to get back into the game if losing (like Manowar)

  6. I was just wondering which rooms are popular on Netplay and when the hell do people play? I've been on everyday for a month now and not one person is running NHL94. Anybody want to schedule an easy win against me? I'm just starting to play again so I'd like to get some practice other than the lame computer.

  7. Yeah I would stay away from both actually. Mabye you can use 32, but most people I play on the internet (so far) have used GENS 2.10

Of course I'm no expert but I like 2.10 and it seems to be the most popular version for netplay. GENS plus has too many damm features which I don't need and clogs up the emulator with junk.

P.S. next week I'm getting cable. Do you have aim? Whats your AIM address?

I don't have AIM yet but you can reach me at jriley@nyc.rr.com. I just ordered a controller to play on the pc so we can maybe schedule a certain night to play each week. As soon as I get AIM I will foward you by screen name.

  8. I'm having a problem running GensPlus but run Gens32 just fine. Whenever I boot up GensPlus, pull out the nhl94 rom, i then click on netplay and join a server, then I host nhl94 but when my friend who has the exact same config tries to join it boots both of us back to our desktops. This is not so with Gens32 which connected just fine. Please help!

  9. I'm pretty new to this community and to Netplay (in fact I've yet to play a game) but I was just wondering how many others live in or around NYC? I know Evan's in Long Island and I'm in Manhattan with another 2 guys and would love to get a little LAN party for NHL 94 if possible. I'm sure playing on Netplay is a great alternative but nothing beats having a bunch of guys in the same house playing the game like it was intended. I'm constantly holding Poker parties and will have something special for the Superbowl so I know how to throw an event. Anyway I'm just happy to see there are people like me that love the old school hockey and think it would be a blast to have a tournament.

  10. I tried connecting to my friend on netplay and got all the way to creating a game (Nhl94) and he joined the room but everytime push the "start game" button its boots us back to our desktop. I'm running the version 0.9 but don't know what the problem is?

  11. Whats a good general time that you go on to netplay on GENS?!?!

I just started using this! I am on now from about 11pm on for whoever wants to play this or any other game from the NHL series.

Please let me know if youd like to set up a time this week, or whenever! I went on there at about 1:30 last night AM, and saw a "nhl2006a" room, but like a jackass I hit "refresh", and it was gone! DAMMIT! I wanna play this with someone online!

I'd love to play you but everytime me and my friend try and connect its boot us back to our desktop. Do the versions have to be the same? Anyway give me a reasonable time in the evening and you will have two opponents...........

  12. NHL 95 WAS WAY TOO FAST AND THE SPINORAMA WAS CRAP. EA WENT SOUTH AFTER 94 HAVE YET TO RECAPTURE ITS MAGIC. GAMEPLAY IS EVERYTHING AND 94 HAD IT. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS MAKE BETTER ANIMATIONS MORE PIXELS AND UPDATE ROSTERS EACH YEAR........ :)

  13. is this a download? holy crap I miss that game. help please..

PLEASE HELP US TO GET THESE EMULATORS UP AND RUNNING. I'M SURE ITS SOMETHING SIMPLE BUT PLEASE CAN SOMEONE GIVES US A STEP BY STEP? EVAN HOPE YOU COULD HELP US OUT HERE...................

  14. JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE WHO PLAYS NHL 94. I RECENTLY STUBBLED ACROSS THIS WEBSITE AND SEE THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY PLAY ONLINE WITH A GAME EMULATOR.
