  1. That idea just seems the most fair to me. AJ is given a chance to win a championship without ruining (I meant that in a complimentary way, really) a tournament that was anybody's for the taking.
  2. Let's attempt a compromise (from somebody who was against the change to begin with): We go to the original format, no "Toilet Bowl," no MTL or DAL. We play out the A and B playoffs as normal. After that, AJ plays a best of 7 against the winner of the B league. Winner of that series plays a best of 7 against the A winner. Winner of that series is the True Champion of the GENS 2011 League. Thoughts?
  3. Hart, Conn Smythe, and Vezina awards will be given after the playoffs are completed.
  4. One lesson I learned from doing these stats: Don't cram at the last minute. Anyway, not going to dick around with some long intro, let's get to the awards. ART ROSS The winner of the Art Ross trophy, or the player with the most regular season points, is... Brandon Dubinsky of the New York Rangers, under coach Kingraph. Finishing with 46 points, 23 goals and 23 assists. He edges out teammate Artem Anisimov by a margin of 3 points, and Boston superstar David Krejci by 4 points. MAURICE "ROCKET" RICHARD The winner of the Maurice "Rocket" Richard trophy, awared to the play who finishes with the most regular season goals, is... Another New York Ranger. Artem Anisimov. This one was extremely close. Anisimov edges out David Krejci by just one goal, as they scored 33 and 32, respectively. James Norris Memorial Trophy This award goes to the best defenseman in the league. Obviously, we have no way of really judging who really was the best defenseman in the game, but this award will go to the defenseman who finished with most points of all other players of the same position. The winner, good God this was hard to find, not many offensive minded defensemen in this league, is... Dennis Seidenberg. After falling just short of the Art Ross and Rocket trophies, dcicon's Bruins finally have one to take him. He finished with 2 goals and 10 assists, edging out Seabrook from Chicago by one point. Congrats to the coaches of the award winners. I attempted to attatch the file that contained all the player stats of every team, but it wouldn't let me. I'll post some mentionable totals below, and I can tell anybody anything they'd like to know about the stats of their team or any team. Or I could email you the file if anybody would like to see it.
  5. Just do the same thing we've done all season, post the score(s) of the game(s) and the goal scorers and assists. Doesn't matter how you do it, you can do one post for each game, or one for the entire series, or anything in between. Just make sure the other coach confirms. Also, if anyone would like to record their games and post the videos, you certainly may do that. Good luck to all!

  7. A few awards to give out: President's Trophy (Awarded to the club finishing the regular season with the best overall record (based on points)): Washington (Vocally Caged). Congrats on a dominant regular season. William M. Jennings Trophy (Awarded to the goalkeeper(s) having played a minimum of 25 games for the team with the fewest goals scored against it in the regular season) By definition, nobody actually qualifies, BUT: Tim Thomas/anybody else who played in goal for the Bruins this season, Boston (dcicon) Lady Byng Memorial Trophy (Awarded to the player who exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability) Yeah, we're giving it to a coach instead of a player. Deal with it.: Kingraph (NY Rangers). Always seemed to win with class, and offer to help to those who needed it. Was also very active in the league. Jack Adams Award: (Awarded to the NHL coach adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success): Houly (Edmonton). Had the 2nd worst team in the entire ROM and got them to the A playoffs. Give credit where credit is due. NHL General Manager of the Year Award: (Awarded to the top National Hockey League General Manager): LA Robbie (Anaheim). He had the idea to start this league, and did a spectacular job running it. Great thanks go out to him. NHL Foundation Player Award (Awarded to the player who applies the core values of hockey to enrich the lives of people in his community): How about Cory Gibson (San Jose). Took over a winless SJ team, played out the season to keep the league from getting screwed over, and will have a shot to do some damage in the playoffs now. Thank you very much. Individual player awards (Art Ross, Rocket) along with the Vezina and Hart finalists will be posted later this week, once player stats are finalized. Congrats to everyone on a great regular season. Good luck in the playoffs.
  8. Final standings and seedings will be posted when they're, well, final. The deadline hasn't passed yet. There was a 24 hour extension. We also still need to finalize the playoff format. Check back later tonight.
  9. I confirm playing with kingraph. And we'll take Colorado.
  10. I understand the defense, Comeback. But there IS more to it than him just "bringing up a suggestion" to help out. And as for the "change of heart," if that happens he will not be welcomed back. Honestly, we're not just being jerks. There was more to it than just a complaint.
  11. PIT: 3 @ WSH: 6 WSH: Ovechkin: 2G Backstrom: 2G, 1A Semin: 1G, 1A Arnott: 1G PIT: Crosby: 2G Martin: 1G Not 1 assist from a Pens player... weird. GG.
  12. Just one question: If I choose the last option, does that mean I'm a tool?
  13. I nominate this for forum post of the year.
  14. WITH THE FINAL SPOT IN THE B PLAYOFFS UP FOR GRABS: MTL: 0 @ PIT: 4 Letang (Kennedy, Crosby) Crosby (Kunitz) Kennedy (Orpik) Crosby (Letang, Orpik) So that comes out to: Letang (1G, 1A) Kennedy (1G, 1A) Crosby (2G, 1A) Kunitz (1A) Orpik (2A) great game. closer than the score.
  15. Uh oh, just reported that Detroit's out too....
  16. Pens withdraw offer, re-sign Kennedy. Works for me. Jagr still sucks. He'll be back for us to boo again next year, good stuff :-).
  17. I change my mind every day on this subject. But yes, bring him in. Hopefully he has enough left in the tank to give us a solid RW (we don't have many), and be a legitimate threat on a powerplay that has been awful the past 3 seasons.
  18. No mention of a possible game between me and you that'll determine who moves onto B and who suffers the embarassment of the Toilet Bowl series?
  19. CHI @ PIT PIT: Kunitz CHI: Stalberg Stalberg (Hjalmarrsson, Pisani) Hossa (Toews, Crawford) 3-1 Chicago wins. gg.
  20. Just a quick team switch: houli takes nationals's place, but he will be using Edmonton instead of Toronto. Only 2 games had been played, 1 was by him. He was allowed to switch for that reason only. So just to clarify, houli/edmonton takes over for nationals/toronto.
  21. Yay @ firmly cementing my spot in the B playoffs. I'm still not in the bottom 2. WOO!
