I'm a little aggitated that this is the route we are using. Wasn't this league first come first serve? If you want to change the philosophy to an elitist league where players are chosen based on various factors... including how much we like them... then openly state that. We were talking about Jamonica, Brown Magic, and Stan at first. Someone said Jamonica had a time issue in the future. Unless Jamonica says differently, why are we considering him? I'm not sure who was first, but it should just be Brown Magic or Stan. Probably both guys will end up getting a team based on current trends. Once this debacle ends, I nominate myself to handle league newcomers. I will rank the list in order, and I will personally play each player and keep tabs of how much they are online. Doing this, I can eliminate random dudes who just show up and rock the boat. I am just waiting for D to put his stamp on it, because it is his league.

I'm waiting to hear from you D. are we keeping a committee of 3? are we going with one guy? I've already excersized my opinion if it's committee style. I think there is some retooling to be done for replacement coaching since it seems like a guaruntee every season... but we don't have time for that crap. Just throw in Brown Magic. Stan should be able to get the next team that goes under the bus for not playing games... it's coming... take your pill, monkey juice.

Wow, thanks Jay. I appreciate the comments, although you are right up there with me. I think it's up to Dmitry to say if we should have a small committee, or a go to guy. If he wants to go with a go-to guy, then whoever he feels comfortable most with is the guy I'd vote for.

p.s. Next order of business... MonkeyJuice and Takeyourpill. I am under the impression that these guys are reliable, but their # of games played does not back up this claim. You guys need to be advocates for yourself, and initiate playing games, instead of waiting for people to play you. If that can't be done... it is only time before people start jumping on the bandwagon to move you guys out. That's just the reality of this league; it is paced like woah.

well... I'll just restate what I think needs to be done. 1. Official waiting list. 2. Committee of dudes to play people on list. (not necessarily this crazy committee of underachieving, but guys who are online often and willing to play) I think this is necessary to avoid jipping other dudes of their dude-right to dibs on playing. I think someone a while ago had a list all hipped up and ready to go. I'm not sure what happened to that. however..... JJ's games need to be played very soon. Brown Magic it up baby. Committees, waiting lists, and other official orders of business can be handled in the off-season to make GDL3 one heckofa league.

Ehhh.... I'll take this one with a grain of salt. Skool has great sportsmanship. I can't inform you as to why the game was paused, but I can vouch for him at least saying he wouldn't pause just to throw your game off. This has happened to me once before... I was playing against someone recently (Jamonica, Mike, someone.... the name escapes me) and they had a breakaway, and the game paused. I swear to sweet baby Jesus I didn't hit the start button, but the pause was on my end. I felt pretty guilty because I might've just taken a score away, but it was a total accident. These things happen, and luckily that scoring chance didn't affect the final outcome. And bad connections are just something everyone has to deal with. That is until the future when we all have cybernetic implants like Lobot.

I know Jamonica would be probably the most suitable replacement... however I really feel that we'd be promoting ourselves as elitist jackasses if we ignored people who had some sort of dibs on next in line. We need an official list... and we need people to vouch for dudes on the list. I know there are plenty of guys, including myself, that are willing to play exhibitions against guys and keep tabs to see who is online and when.

I believe that we will need some fresh blood to take over Quebec. He isn't keeping pace with the other guys in terms of games played... and his record certainly is a deterant to him playing. After taking a 12-0 loss, who wants to stay online to play 5 more games just to catch up? Whoever is first in line on "the list" (wherever and whatever that may be), that person should have the right to take over the team. That is assuming the person can fulfill the requirements of catching up in games played.

It is only counted as two ties on my record (and games played)... and all stats are only counted once. I don't know what the problem was.

so Mike and I played a great game, I lost 7-8 in OT... but I certainly don't care for it to count as 2 games for me. I think it's counted twice, so if one of them could just go away, that'd be great Thanks Dmitry.

I think our boy Ranatoro took care of any issues about a 2 week trading period. If there was a pre-trade Rom and a post-trade Rom, there is no need for hiatus. It looks pretty much all work would be in rerostering, and setting up the database. It sounds to me like Dmitry isn't feeling up the idea of fitting in two roms for the database.... so unless someone else can take the horns on that, I imagine it's dead in the water. (someone send Dmitry roses to soften him up!) oh... and if you have JR on your team, what is the likelihood of trading him? I can't see very many blockbuster trades going on with stingy owners (there is only one Hokkee in the league, don't you know), so maybe all the potential work would be fruitless with some crappy bench-warmer trades.

are you ever online and you look at your buddy list, and you see 2 guys under "NHL 94" both sign off at the same time presumably to play a game? does this remind anyone else of a strip club???? you know, the lady and your friend both go in the back area for a "good time" just thought I'd ask. p.s. I don't go to strip clubs.

judging from that screen shot NJK, it appears you egged him on a bit by saying "I WON:}" I would suggest that you don't provoke him like that, and don't dignify what he says with a response because that'll just keep him going. It is rather childish and cowardly to speak the way Dr. Pizza did, because I guaruntee no one would speak that way to a person face to face. There are plenty of other people that have a higher sense of being behind the computer screen too. I'd be all about a written code of conduct as mr. skool says, where penalties follow warnings and are severe enough to end this harassment no one (I hope) wants. Yet... none of these are my leagues. If Evan, Dmitry, or anyone else in charge of a league feels the same way, then they can write up the charter, or issue a group of guys to write up a set of ground rules. If you think it's a good idea, talk to those guys about it.
