  1. Hey guys,

From there on, there are plenty of posts about the game. So that's pretty rock-solid evidence that the game was first available on September 22/23, 1993. Hope you guys find that helpful/interesting!

    Chris

Edit: For anyone interested, the newsgroup these game from was rec.games.video.sega. I was also able to find that NHL 94 for the Sega CD was released in January of 1994.

Awesome post! Thanks Jibs for sharing!

  2. Hey guys,

I know we're entering the 2nd week of GDL so my apologies for the slow start this season. I was out of town through much of the holidays and I was trying to catch up last week.

Here is my availability through the remainder of this week:

    1/12 Tue = OUT

    1/13 Wed = 7:30-9:30 CST

    1/14 Thu = 7:30-9:30 CST

    1/15 Fri = 8:30-??? CST

1/16 Sat = flexible but please schedule time

1/17 Sun = flexible but please schedule time

  3. No one who is still active in Classic A playoffs & participating in GDL has had any issues with drafting, trade talks, playing preseason rom, etc but can't make time to finish their prior obligation to classic A?... I don't know, that just sets a poor precedent..

Raph, I understand your analysis about 1 week / series, however, I don't think that should be applied across every tier. A-leaguers should finish ahead of the other groups. So while GensB may be 1 week behind and that's not too bad, GensA being 1 week behind seems a lot worse.

  4. The first series of the playoffs was finished on 11/25.

It's 12/21 and the last quarterfinals series finished last night... I don't know, that seems pretty long and it's a drag for guys who are waiting around.

I'm not sure why anything is different from the regular season. There should be checkpoints set up and if you don't hit them, then you should be penalized for future seasons (whether in classic or in other leagues).

I would be surprised with everyone's schedule during the holidays that this season finishes up before the New Year.

Obviously everyone should be making efforts to finish playoffs but especially to the A-leaguers, I think there's a need to lead by example. I think it's important for those who play at the elite level to set the pace for the community and establish expectations through good practice.

  6. I've been playing a lot of Battlefront lately but I'm on XB1. Doesn't work for you I know, Wally but if anyone else out there is on XB1, my tag is Tigvee.

I'll play BF4, Borderlands, BF Hardline, Battlefront, GTAV

Also been collecting and playing a bit of Dreamcast these days... not sure if you can play online anymore with that system, probably not. If you can, I'm sure to do that is far above my tech know how pay grade.

  7. Very cool Brutus... I like the changes. We've had some worthy commishes over the years and you'll be a great one to add to the the list (and you may have commished a league before this one but not during my time)

I'm good to draft over the next 2 weeks but then my schedule gets pretty sketchy with running around and leaving town during the holidays.

  8. MK-1650 modded with USB

    MK-1653 6-button

MK-1470 6-button with turbo (they run slightly smaller than the 1653s)

Before I joined the site, I used to only play with the original Genesis Arcade Stick but I quickly discovered that the control is way better with a dpad.

  9. Hi everybody - I've joined since I've played this game on the console, and play online a lot (QuakeLive, etc.). I'm a Mets fan and a soccer fan (and glad the Islanders are in Barclay's center now). I'd be happy for a game when I'm online (most weeknights = 6 PM - 12 AM)

Hey GusIslander, welcome to the community. No shortage of people you can find to play here online any given night.

If you're Gens, feel free to hit me up on my AIM located in my sig.

    See you out there!
