I also tend to play 20/on/on/manual, so I see those other guys a lot more than 5/off/off/whatever players might. I don't get much use out of the starting defensemen on Vancouver, but they are deep.
-
I am not sure, as I have not attempted such a ranking, but there are at least two more unmentioned defensemen I like on that team.
-
Vancouver mentioning just two of their many interesting defensemen? they deserve a revisiting, big time. I would rank them much higher.
-
probably. get any hex editor and get used to finding (and replacing) lines of code, as described in the ROM mapping thread, I guess.
-
The Boston Bourques. I am loving some Kevin Lowe, too. plenty to pick from....

perfect. thank you!

please download the SNES editor.

(you may also want at least one hex editor. I like Hex Fiend, but I also use another for the other sequencing format.) get used to opening files. tinker.
please read the ROM mapping thread.

selfishly, I would like to start with my existing file, but the roster section(s) can be copied in either direction, and that is where most of the work lies -- in the player data updates. I imagine you helping by copying entire player lines, changing jersey numbers and weights to current, replacing retirees with rookies for me to rate. what do you envision, just helping me get my thing done, creating something fresh together, working along side and sharing roster work?
let me know where you have answers/questions. thank you!

there are some passionate SNESers that can help you get used to it. I haven't gotten there, yet, either, but it must not be too hard, as that is what most of the active folks are here to do/discuss. Bob Kudelski and Halifax are knowledgeable about setups, it seems.

could you limit the regular season menu to the five teams and still have a full playoff with other teams?
-
how are you forcing the four games? very interested....

schooled? there wasn't a solid fact in any of that. it was implications of personal insults covered in speculation with a side of unsubstantiated claims. yay? read the whole thread again without sucking up the clear bias against me that plagues this place to its own detriment.

that project would be rad.

...always found it a-hole like to pause the game after i score. Raph does it the most. I've mentioned it before. I know there is a lot of old school 94 that is considered standard behavior, but to me, it was always such a slap in the face. If we were in person, I'd punch you in the balls for sure if you tried to buzz kill my momentum....tru STFU
it is really almost all "competitive etiquette," so don't let yourself get riled up by my agreeing with you in a thread with the term "online" in it. no need to be a jerk. or maybe there is -- maybe if enough people get worked up and nasty I will be banned from more sections of the site in which I previously enjoyed conversing about the games. is that your goal with that stupid jab? I had better check my account for the demerits you deserve, right? the freaking cool kids club here is awful. this crap is counter to the push for more active members. why don't you report this post so I can have further disciplinary action taken against me for other people's inability to stay civil?
-
the excuse that killing momentum is to give the other guy props is a cruel lie perpetuated needlessly. cut that out. it is not "good game" unless spraying glue in a race is a way to say "I forfeit," and defecating on somebody's pillow is a token of deep respect.
-
valid point was about music, running fools over, momentum. rest was nonsense stuff, at best.
-
sorry I misunderstood and forgot about the workaround product. I have set in my mind my own preference for cartridges which I wasn't thinking beyond.
-
find a seller on Etsy that makes them. send over a ROM and sticker image. pay a lot.
-
what I can add is that if you don't like what is about to happen in a highlight, press a button and it seems fifty-fifty rather than the 80% or so likelihood of being a goal that each shot in highlights seems to have. I built a playoff tree to the same results as the actual 2011 finals, game by game, save and play/simulate until achieved.

rereading my post above about hitting posts....I feel pretty solidly that Genesis vacuum nets are weird and that SNES posts are perfectly balanced. "gluchunk!"

I am in Maine and interested.

tested linking so the videos would show, but this new site is garbage, so it didn't work.
-
I failed wondrously and shall rely on the work of others for these in the future.

there is a SNES editor that works well as long as you don't shorten your roster before shortening your lines. the newest version is many years old. it doesn't do graphics beyond uniforms. there is also a very detailed ROM mapping thread. read around there to advance your understanding.
SNES Defensemen Ranking

the huge speed bonuses afforded to hot/cold players can routinely boost a scrub-looking dude into superstardom. Terry Yake (although not a defenseman) comes to mind as a frequent recipient of the gifted attribute bumps. getting each player some ice time early can help you figure out who is on fire. it can make or break your Oz/Wilk-level decisions.
