  1. Played against the rookie version of him last night in mine and Labs 92 series. The guy is amazing to still be playing.
  2. GAME 1 EDM PIT 3 G 5 11 PM 4 2 FW 0 Edmonton steals one at the Igloo. 2 tight games in Pittsburgh. The Oilers after many close calls finally break thru and beat the Pens. The Oilers and Pens split their 2 games in Edmonton.
  3. Hey Darko. Gonna be tough with our time diff. My daughter has ski races all weekend late night out west is all i can do.
  4. Pittsburgh vs Philly The Battle of PA 14 GP tonight! Week 1 will end on Sunday 2-15-15. Games left: MAJOR NYR v STL (4) LA v CGY (4) HAR v MTL (4) FARM Labs66 v Deadmeow (see site for team match ups) Jer33 will be out of town the next week. Plays Deadmeow.
  5. Oh what a night. The 2 rookies (I don't know if we can really consider them rookies but for this league they are) are for real as they put the hammer to last seasons 4 place team and semi-finalist Edmonton. They also showed very little respect for the Commisioner. Playing AJ with Montreal is like playing the Flying Frenchmen Canadiens of 70's. Speed and Skill. Playing Brutus with Philadelphia is like playing the Broad Street Bully Flyers of the 70's. Cracking skulls and crashing the Net. I can't wait to see these 2 play. The Oilers lead Game 1 6-4 in the 3rd period before the Habs scored 4 unanswered. In Game 2 the Habs dominated from the outset. The Flyers won 2 back in forth games in Edmonton. Game 3 in Philly Ron Hextall stood on his head and the Oilers took all the paint off the post. In Game 4 Grant Fuhr carried a shutout into the 3rd and The Oilers showed what they may be capable of. Messier setting up Anderson like it was the 80's. Remember the Oilers started slow in Season 1 also.
  6. This brings the whole online vs in person thing into play and the gamers vs hockey guys into play. The first thing that attracted to me to 92 is THE OILERS ARE GOOD! How I wish there was an NHL 84. In person we give guys crap for just taking good teams and props for playing with teams you like. You would not get punched for taking the Penguins. I have no problem with guys taking teams because they are good mind you. They would just get punched once if it was in person. Anyway we know you are a Pittsburgh guy and you never blinked when knee-capped ya. Win it again and I'll take out the other knee and give you line 3. By the way your Cup is in the mail.
  7. I got no problem with you taking the Pens. You deserved and earned the Cup. When are you gonna claim it in your signature.
  8. #1 NY Rangers (KingRaph)---Why they will win the Cup: Talented team with the best coach. He is the World Record Holder for a reason. I don't see how anyone stops Raph this season. His 94 skills have translated to 92 nicely. I beat him in his first 2 exis of 92 and have not been close since. With the Pens line-up downgraded I don't see anyone touching Raph. The rest of the league can look forward to commissionerMac knee capping the Rangers in Season 3 and bringing Raph back to the crowd with a depleted Line-up. Why they won't win the Cup: Skeletor and his LA Kings split with Raph during the Regular Season in Season 1 and gave them everything they wanted in the Playoffs. Adding Larry Robinson to the starting D improves LA more than Raphs move of switching Gartner to the LW. The Kings will be the #1 threat to the Rangers run at the Cup. #2 Montreal Canadiens (AngryJay93)---Why they will win the Cup: Skilled, small, fast team with a talented and legendary but unknown coach in these parts. I played AJ in a few 92 exis and the Montreal "Paper Tigers" smoked my big physical Oilers 7-1. AngryJay went to Saskatchewan and played and adapted to SNES and finished 4th. He is a 94 legend and he can hold as well as Deadmeow which works well for the Paper Tigers. His style is very different from anyone else in the league. I predict he sneaks into the playoffs as he learns this game, but with the right match-ups he is my #2 choice to win the Cup.. Why they won't win the Cup: He can't beat the Rangers in a 7 game series with this line-up. AngryJay needs LA to knock off NY and then he can win the Cup. #3 Los Angeles Kings (Skeletor)---Why they will win the Cup: Skill, motivation and finally Larry Robinson (236 lbs). If they don't win it this year with a second line edit next year (McSorley is still on the bench at 244lbs and rated 61) they will be the favorites. Super talent and scoring up front. Improved defense with the added size of Robinson. They match up well with the Rangers and Skeletor is a great coach and motivated to beat Raph. Why they won't win the Cup: Mixed results in Season 1 against some lesser teams makes me wonder if the Kings can bring it every night. I also think they are still vulnerable to physical defensive minded teams. #4 Hartford Whalers (Deadmeow)---Why they will win the Cup: The Godfather of 92 Deadmeow is behind the bench of another group of underdogs. He plays the flat out the best most frustrating defensive system in the game. He has an upgraded faster roster moving from Toronto to Hartford. He can beat anybody with any team on any given night. Why they won't win the Cup: The roster. Hartford is just not that talented. It is a tribute to his sportsmenship that he always wants to take poor to mediocre teams to win the Cup. #5 Pittsburgh Penguins (Labs66)--- Why they win the Cup: Labs dominated last season with the greatest roster ever assembled in a video hockey game. The Penguins Line 1 is far better comparably than the BlackHawks or Red Wings in 94. In fact they have no rival. That said, Labs did a great job coaching them and delivered the Cup. He is a skilled coach who still has a strong line-up. Much like Montreal, he needs to be on the other side of the playoff bracket from the Rangers and hope Skeletor or Deadmeow can upset KingRaph. Why they won't win the Cup: #66 Mario Lemieux is out for the season unless Labs pulls the goalie. #6 Boston Bruins (Lupz27)--- Why they get in the Stanley Cup Playoffs: I don't think Lupz27 can win the Cup with his new team in Boston. I do think he could finish as high as second and reach the Finals. This is an upgraded roster for a young enthusiastic coach who moves from Chicago to Boston. Neely and Bourque are both beast. Probably the best line-up in the league but not head and shoulders above everyone else like the Pens were last season. I think it will be tight for this last spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but I see Boston getting it baed on the skilled roster. Why they are playing for the John Deere Cup; I think the 6-10 spots will be very close in the Major League. #7 Philadelphia Flyers (Brutus)--- Why they get in the Stanley Cup Playoffs: Brutus the c-mashing maniac. Heaven help us if he gets a more talented team or Chicago had any beef. I can see Philly finishing as high as 4th. Brutus's c-mashing, skull crushing, gimme the biggest guys on the roster the style is tough to play against. This will be dangerous team. Why they are playing for the John Deere Cup: I just don't think Philly has enough scoring to win consistently in Major. I think they could very well be playing Brutus's other team in the John Deere Cup Finals. #8 Edmonton Oilers (CoachMac)--- Why they get in the Stanley Cup Playoffs: The roster. The Oilers are everything a coach could dream of. CoachMac is improving his level of play online after dominating locally. They will challenge for a playoff spot. Why they are playing for the John Deere Cup: They may be the favorites if they are not in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. #9 Calgary Flames (Jer33)--- Why they get in the Stanley Cup Playoffs: The Flames are a very similar team to the Kings the talent is there. Jer33 is the right guy behind the bench and may feel like he traded in a Edsel (NorthStars) for a Porsche (Flames). If Jer can outscore people he could get one of the coveted playoff spots. Why they are playing for the John Deere Cup: This league is stacked and the 6-10 spots will be very close. The Flames will be one of the favorites here. #10 St. Louis Blues (Darko99)--- Why they get in the Stanley Cup Playoffs: Wow tough to pick this team last. The Blues were improving quickly at the end of season 1. Darko is a talented coach. If Hull and Oates get hot. I could be eating crow. These guys will be threat to get in the Big Dance. Why they are playing for the John Deere Cup: Another team that will be very dangerous if they turn out here. FARM LEAGUE DIVISION WINNERS: #1 Chicago (Brutus)--- Class of their own here. I predict they will go 10-0. Toronto will be the #1 threat in the playoffs as Deadmeow has a history of upsetting the Hawks with the Leafs. They have the talent to beat the Major League's representative in John Deere Cup Finals. Other Brutus Division Teams (New Jersey 6-4) (San Jose 2-8). #2 Toronto (Deadmeow)--- Went .500 in Major during season 1. I predict a 7-3 season in Farm League. Great chance to advance to the John Deere Cup Finals as they are the burr in the BlackHawks saddle. Other Deadmeow Division Teams (Winnipeg 6-4) Vancouver (2-8) #3 Buffalo (Labs66)--- I wish I had picked them instead of the NorthStars. I went with my heart over my head. I think they will edge the Caps for the Playoff spot with a 6-4 record. Other Labs66 Division Teams (Washington 5-5) (Quebec 1-9) #4 Detroit (CoachMac)--- I made horrible picks. This division may look like the NFC South. Detroit wins it at 4-6. Other Coachmac Division Teams (Minnesota 3-7) (NY Islanders 1-9)
  9. I have made some changes to the Playoff Format for both leagues that I think everyone will enjoy and keep everybody in Major interested and involved right to the end. It will also eliminate pointless playoff match ups. The only possible conflict is a Farm coach could turn out playing against himself in the John Deere Cup Finals (but highly unlikely). The 7-10 place teams will have something to play for right to the end and #5 and #6 in major will have a shot against the #3 and #4 seeds. One of the main weaknesses to leagues on this site is keeping it interesting once the season and more importantly post season get going. Keeping the lesser talented players involved. I think this format goes a long way towards addressing that. Stanley Cup Playoffs 1-6 Place in Major Q-Finals are Best of 5 Semi's are Best of 7 Finals are Best of 7 John Deere Cup Playoffs 7-10 in Major 4 Division winners in Farm Q-Finals are Best of 5 Semi's are Best of 5 Finals are Best 7
  10. Brutus says "Thanks for the Invite" and then dominates week 1 Farm League Action, sweeping CoachMac. 27 combined penalty minutes and 6 fights of which Chicago won 5 highlighted the BlackHawks win over the NorthStars. New Jersey dominated Detroit. The Sharks open the season with a shutout win over the Islanders.
  11. Official Season 2 Rom NHL '92(S2).bin http://www.nhl92.com/2015springs2.htm Please use this thread just to post scores. #1 At the end of the game when the stat page comes up hit shift/backspace to get the screenshot. #2 Then open the bmp in Paint and just Save As a png file. #3 Then upload here. I will be manually keeping stats like last season. Goals For Goals Against PIM Fights Won If you miss the screen shot or have a desynch and stiched game, you will need to enter the stats for me here. Best estimate if nothing else. Major League you play each coach in a 4 game series 2 Home and 2 away. One series per week follow schedule or play ahead. 36 Game Regular Season. 1-6 Place Qualify for Stanley Cup Playoffs. 7-10 Place Qualify for John Deere Cup Playoffs (see below) Q-Finals are Best of 5 (Top 2 seeds have byes) (3 v 6 and 4v 5) Semi's are Best of 7 Finals are Best of 7 Farm League you play 3 games per week. Each week you play one other coach and the same guy host all 3 games. The Final week you play 6 games a Home and Home with your rival coach. This matches 1st picks, 2nd picks, and 3rd picks. Each Team plays 10 games each coach plays 30. 1st Place team from each Farm League coach/division makes playoffs. 7-10 Place in Major League makes Farm League Playoffs. Q-Finals are Best of 5 Semi's are Best of 5 Finals are Best of 7 Major League Week 1 Schedule Deadline to complete 2-13-15 PIT vs BOS NYR vs STL LA vs CGY EDM vs PHI HAR vs MTL Farm League Week 1 Schedule Deadline to complete 2-13-15 CoachMac Teams at Brutus Teams Deadmeow Teams at Labs66 Teams GAME ON!
  12. Final Rom will be finished within the hour. No further changes allowed.
  13. No problem. Great group of buds. I am sure we will get 100% completion again. The schedule is a guide you can play ahead and as long as you communicate and don't fall 2 or 3 weeks behind it will be fine. I've got a couple weeks I am out of town during this season. I can have the rom ready later tonight. Any objections to getting this thing going? I'll make week 1 end 2-22-15. You can't make this move Claude is a winger he can replace MacLean or Muller. If you want to get Stastny out and add some beef in the middle, your only choice is #17 Sundstrum 196lbs and good #'s. The other 2 centers are lighter and worst than Stastny. Deadmeow. Do you want to make a goalie switch with the Whalers the back-up Reagh is higher rated (46) than Sidorkiewicz (32)?
  14. The D pairing is the best they got IMO. I would switch in #10 Guy LaFleur for #22 Scott Pearson. Guy deserves to play and he is better. Just need to know on Quebec, Brutus Farm teams (which I am getting tonight), and Skeletor if he wants to do any with LA. Would be great If Raph or Deadmeow or both would do it. He has to be the Favorite. I'll do one later this weekend, but I always enjoy Raph's.
  15. Any objections to starting Sunday Feb 15? The schedule reads showing the last day to play those games. So when it says: Week 1 ends 3-8-15. I am thinking a March 1 start. I would love to move it up to: Week 1 ends 2-22-15. Remember you can always play games later in the schedule. You just must get the games scheduled each week done. OK to get ahead. NOT OK to fall behind. Current Roster Moves. Roster moves close Friday 2-6-15 at Midnight Eastern so I can get the regular season rom out for the weekend. No extensions or changes after that. 1st pick Jer33--- Calgary (Replace LW #10 Roberts with reserve RW #42 Makarov) (Goalie Switch #31 Wamsley replaces #30 Vernon) 2nd pick Darko99 St. Louis (Switch LW #10 Lowry and RW #16 Hull) (Goalie Switch #31 Joseph replaces #30 Riendeau) 3rd pick Lupz27--- Boston (Switch LW #27 Christian and RW #8 Neely) 4th pick Deadmeow Hartford (Switch LW #24 Holik and RW #16 Verbeek) 5th pick CoachMac--- Edmonton (Replace RW #8 Murphy with reserve RW #9 Anderson) (Goalie Switch #31 Fuhr replaces #30 Ranford) 6th pick Skeletor--- Los Angeles (Replace D #4 Blake with reserve D #19 Robinson) 7th pick KingRaph--- NY Rangers (Switch LW #25 Ogrodnick and RW #22 Gartner) 8th pick Labs66--- Pittsburgh Line 2 (Replace LW #12 Errey with reserve RW #7 Mullen) 9th pick Brutus--- Philadelphia (Replace LW #32 Craven with reserve LW #24 Smith) 10th pick AngryJay--- Montreal (Replace LW #27 Corson with reserve RW #44 Richer) FARM LEAGUE 11th Pick Brutus--- Chicago (Replace LW #32 Thomas with reserve LW #44 Peluso) 12th Pick Deadmeow--- Toronto (Switch LW #10 Damphousse and RW #32 Marios) 13th Pick CoachMac--- Minnesota (Replace C #15 Gagner with reserve C #18 Smith) 14th Pick Labs66--- Washington (Replace D #6 Johansson with reserve D #34 Iafrate) 15th Pick Labs66--- Buffalo (Replace RW #22 Vaive with reserve LW #89 Mogilny) (Goalie switch #30 Malarchuk replaces #31 Puppa) 16th Pick CoachMac--- Detroit (Replace LW #11 Burr with reserve RW #24 Probert) (Goalie Switch #1 Hanlon replaces #32 Cheveldae) 17th Pick Deadmeow--- Winnipeg (Switch LW #7 Ashton and RW #15 Elynuik) 18th Pick Brutus--- New Jersey (TBA) 19th Pick Brutus--- San Jose (Replace D #48 with D #29) 20th Pick Deadmeow--- Vancouver (Switch LW #10 Courtnall and RW #16 Linden) 21st Pick CoachMac--- NY Islanders (Replace D #8 Norton with reserve D #29 Reekie) 22nd Pick Labs66--- Quebec (Replace LW #22 Pearson with reserve RW #10 LaFleur)
  16. Gotta be the Isles. Labs gets the Nordiques. Dead switches wings on all 3 teams. Send me any roster moves not done yet. Still need Skeletors for Major. Check out the web-site for season 2. http://www.nhl92.com/2015springs2.htm
  17. Deadmeow on the clock: Vancouver NY Islanders Quebec
  18. Brutus on the clock with 2 picks. Labs, sticking with Puppa? Anybody else with roster moves please post.
  19. I like Buffalo. They were my next choice ahead of Detroit. Even though Turgeon is much bigger than Hawerchuk and rated slightly higher. I like Dale for his shot and speed (93-73) both better than Turgeon (53-53). Mogilny for Vaive is an OK move. One will be your starting RW and the other will be your first sub as the Line 2 LW so they will probably get about equal ice time. You also have a better back-up goalie in Malarchuk (59) than Puppa (55), but Puppa is much heavier which I think helps at times in this game. not sure about that though. Need to put in a good word for Clint as he lives in my town. On a side note just want to mention the 92 sub progression. for Forwards your first sub is Line 2 LW, your second sub is Line 3 LW, your 3rd sub is PP1 LW, your 4th sub is PP2 LW, etc... thru PK2 LW If your center is in the box Line 1 LW moves to C and Line 2 LW moves to LW. Bottom Line no centers or RW aside from Line 1 will ever see the ice. Unless you pull goalie then you get C #2. for Defensemen your first sub is Line 2 LD, then Line 3 LD, then PP1 LD, etc.. all the way thru PK2 LD. Bottom Line no RD aside From Line 1 will ever see the ice.
  20. Deadmeow on the clock. Teams Left: NY Islanders New Jersey Quebec Vancouver Winnipeg San Jose
  21. Detroit bringing in Bob Probert at LW replacing Shawn Burr. Already looking forward to my game with the BlackHawks and an appointment with Stu or Peluso.
  22. Good. I think Peluso should be your guy. Peluso is heavier 236 to 228. Has a way better shot 86 to 0 The only thing Stu has is a cool nickname and 60 speed to Pelusos 40. Let me know tonight.
