  1. hey Steve, I'm sorry but I can't find/remember my password to log the scores so i hope this will work for now. The scores were as follows: Buffalo @ Pittsburgh: 4-3(OT) Buffalo @ Pittsburgh: 3-4 Pittsburgh @ Buffalo: 7-5 Pittsburgh @ Buffalo: 5-1 Buffalo @ Pittsburgh: 2-7 You played some good games man, good luck in the finals.
  2. Hey man, let me know if you're around at all cause the deadline is tonight...i realize it's new year's and all, so i probably won't even be around to play games but let me know and maybe we can set something up tomorrow and submit it late.
  3. Hey, Toronto defaulted our quarter final series so it's you an me. Hopefully we can get some games in this weekend, as i realize the deadline is this monday night!..perhaps some sunday evening action??
  4. It was a thriller indeed! As soon as my heart rate returns to normal, and if you still hold the title, I shall look for a rematch. Good luck.
  5. hey jeff, I'll be your first challenger if you want to find me on AIM (drinnagh)
  6. i'm down for some offside action. whoever wins, message, or look me up at 'drinnagh' on aim.
  7. You should try just mastering the crease cut across instead of the full on wraparound. I find that I run into players more often if I try going all the way around the net first, and the crease cut across is essentially the same maneuver anyway... While admittedly this is much more useful against the computer (as the goalie will never move across quick enough), it is still very valuable in online play. Granted, in the most likely scenario, your opponent WILL see it coming and switch to manual goalie, but...that's when you switch it up and drop it short side as he/she is moving across in anticipation! And then perhaps next time the goalie will stay put, which is when you fall back to the original cut across! So I feel you're always left with a 50/50 chance, which to me makes it something worthwhile to learn and keep in your arsenal...ideally, the better you get the more you can switch it up, so that the more your opponents get to know you the crazier it all gets...thus, you enter the realm of the hectic psychological guessing game that is the essence of NHL94's greatness!! "Is he going short side or cut across?? Who knows?? Maybe he knows that I know that he knows what I think I know he's gonna do so he won't do it!! ??!?" ...so maybe a bit dramatic, but hopefully some of this helps.
  8. Hey man, I was hoping we'd connect last Friday but you never showed...let me know what your availability is like for the coming week and beyond..I'm actually getting pretty busy now with year end exams, but I'm hoping we can get this series started soon!

  18. Hey everyone! I am a big SNES 94' fan but i'm new to this website and to these programs. Does anyone want to play a game/help me understand and use these programs?? I will be around for most of the day if you want to arrange something
  19. Greetings fellow 94' players. I have been following this website for a while now and i look forward to finally playing some games and perhaps a league. I have been playing the SNES version, which seem underrepresented on this site, for as long as i can remember Perhaps my fondest memory is of a four player, best of 5 "cup match" played on my birthday many years ago. It was game 5, and as anyone who's played 5 ten minute games in a row knows, tensions were high, particularly after coming back from a 2 game deficit. With the last seconds of the game ticking by, we were down a goal, and it looked like it was all over - to the point where i even "tossed the controller" out of frustration. Luckily, my teammate kept his composure within these final seconds and was able to capitalize on what is now infamously remembered as "the J-To giveaway" (J-To, playing as goalie, tried to dump the puck out of the zone to end the game with seconds left, but ended up giving it to my teammate along with an empty net.) The game went to a crazy over-time period in which we ultimately prevailed in a blaze of glory. Indeed, it was quite the birthday tourney, and i was feeling the after effects of the intense adrenalin rush for weeks! P.S. if anyone is wondering about my name, it is actually the name of a forward on the Nordiques with the terrible and embarassing overall rating of 33 (one of the worst that i've been able to find)...anyway, i was quite amused when i saw the stat.
