  1. Changes player no. and name in team roster screen - @4FCD8 Goalie name in pause menu - @7ED5B This means everything in part 3 should now work from $90. Still included in the team data at 18000 bank $83 is team lines, number of goalies, team ratings and team palettes. Can this left as it is Smoz or will it have to be moved? I haven't tried expanding a roster yet to see what happens. ------- some other pointers that maybe useful: blanks out team roster info @27C81 blanks out rink data @78FD2 -------
  2. How much of a headache is it going to be to move the graphics?
  3. Wow - Smoz this is amazing in such a short time. Few things to add: CHI to CXI - @3AC6 Player ratings on team roster screen - @27C81 Still to be found: To change the player names and number on team roster screen goalies on edit menu
  4. About the SNES memory map. http://www.zophar.net/documents/snes/snes-memory.html http://www.romhacking.net/docs/%5B193%5Dmemmap.txt Is quite a lot of pages about this. I can't find a lot of stuff about how to use the free space of an expanded rom. About using free space for NES http://kingmike.emuxhaven.net/romhelp/NESromexp.txt
  5. All the team pointers also seem to come contain the bank byte ($83) - this makes sense/ looks correct for the bank starting 0x018000. On the expanded rom the free bytes start at 0x0080000. It should be bank $90 (from what I understand). Apparently it should be possible to change just the pointer without an ASM hack but I can't get it to work - Probably I'm doing something wrong/missing something!!! . Smoz - perhaps you want to have a look (did you notice this when you came across the team pointers?).

  7. Have found a link that explains how to use the free space in an expanded rom in NES not SNES but I guess it works in a similar way. Have not found much else helpful information. Not had a chance to read it properly but looks well beyond my level but may make more sense to someone else. http://kingmike.emuxhaven.net/romhelp/NESromexp.txt
  8. To kick off - Team offsets for 93. Please tell me if any data is incorrect. 9. You can now download: SNES 93 with checksum disabled SNES 93 with checksum disabled and expanded This now means you edit this game in an hex editor without it crashing. However, will add some offsets soon so hopefully and editor can be put together. It may not have the whistles and bells of the other games - but the game play is really great. 93.zip
  10. I had a look before at SNES 93 and the sprites and face-off screen are editable but looks like banners and rink are compressed. Downloaded the Snes9x Debugger but haven't had time to look at this yet. Related to this I have expanded the 93 rom. I am trying to see if I can use the free bytes. I want to help statto create an editor for 93 but want to see if this is possible first. I can do this in the Gens version of 93 no problem (e.g. to add another team from the original not wboys 30 team rom) but with the SNES no luck. Not totally sure about how the SNES memory banks work at the moment. I assume its possible and assume the problem is me being stupid about something. Guess if works for 93 will work for 94 as well. Any chance of some help Smoz? Not sure if you know about this but you may understand more what the problem is than me.
  11. thanks Xstioph. the fixer corrects the checksum but corrupts the data. However I found the checksum and disabled it and managed to edit the game without it crashing see picture. Note the s on the end of Lemieux. Doesn't look much but could be big. Don't want to get to exicited till have done a bit more testing but looks like a good start. Played this growing up but not for years as you couldn't hack it. However, went back to it due to the fact that I think most of the gameplay is better than the other NHL games. Could be on my own there but hey! Looks like SNES 93 might now be hackable. Hopefully a editor can now be put together
  12. Actually done the strip hack only problem is matching the face-off window. Looks like only wboy knows anything about this.
  13. Are you interested in creating an editor for 93? I would be more than happy to help get this done. I think I know most of the stuff needed from editing the Gens 93 version but just need to work out where it is in the SNES rom - bit confused at the moment. Had a quick look and seems like you can edit some of the graphics in the SNES version e.g. sprites, face-off window which is cool but this needs further investigation before I get carried away. Your editor for 94 looks great so to do it for 93 would be cool. Bit of an update - Have so far found offsets for uniform palettes home/away, team lines, no of goalies also have team ratings. Just need to figure out how to edit without rom crashing. Not sure where the checksum is at the moment. Perhaps someone knows where it is??
  14. If you use wboys rink map and apply it to 93 it isn't that hard to do/understand. Have done quite a few rink logos, face-off circles and creases and didn't take that long
  15. Regarding no2 - yeh I think it would be better if teams pulled their goalie when down 1 rather than 2 - more realistic. Ideally pulling the goalie when down by 1 or by 2. Weren't you talking about doing a hacking website before? Is that still on the horizon?
  16. Well was just wondering if some of this could be done as would definitely improve the game. Had a bit of a go at this hacking without any real success (just some strange happenings) so not sure what is and isn't possible.
  17. Any plans to incorporate NHL 93? Don't think the data will be in the same place as more teams in 94. If not what data do you need?
  18. Another brilliant hack. When you said you came across a few interesting things was just wondering if the following things are or could be possible? 1. Increasing or possibly reducing the goalie side-to-side movement making it harder to deke the goalie? (far too easy on Genesis but is certainly more difficult in the SNES 93 version) 2. Making the computer pull the goalie after just one goal rather than two 3. Further to this making the computer swap goalies if the starter is having a bad day. Also any ideas if the scoring areas of the net work in a similar way?
  19. Is it possible to edit SNES NHL 93 with this? Could only get it to open 94.
  20. wboy I need some help finishing off a strip hack for NHL 93. I have pretty much finished everthing spritewise except for the face-off window. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?showtopic=11129 So basically I need help editing the face-off window to match the sprites. I believe it is still compressed in your 30 team rom (as managed to change most of the colours in the rom apart from the two players in the window) but was wondering if it’s possible to uncompress (like the banners). Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
  21. Thanks for the support. Hopefully it will turn out as good as your rink hack
  22. Couple of pictures of my new strip hack. One in NOSE other how it appears in the game. A more realistic Montreal. Unfortunately need some help editing the face-off window? Believe it is still compressed. Wondering if anyone knows how to edit the sprite colours in this window as I want to match it to my hack as closely as possible?? Have managed to change everything in this window except the sprites Any information on the face-off window will be gratefully received. strips.bmp strip2.bmp
  23. Are you sure you want to play this - apparently it doesn't have the right crease?? It was on the now departed geocities. Will put the website back on somewhere at some point, trying to do a strip hack for 93 at the moment.
  24. Strip hack may be on the way for 93. Don't want to get too exicited as not sure it will work fully?? Have about maybe 80% of it done ( and it looks pretty good) but think finding missing bits and incorrect bits of colour is going to be a real pain. Will include - Different coloured helmets (this looks really cool) Seperate shoulders + Seperate arm bands inside and out (should give a lot more scope for editing uniforms) Eyes all the same colour. Have lost a bit of definition on uniforms but I think it worth it. Hopefully I can pull it off. Really should of done 1 bit at a time but I guess no turning back now.
  25. Well at least you’re big enough to apologise. Remember people do this for fun in what little spare time they have and not everybody wants the same things from a ROM you do.
