well, it's 26 hours since 4 picks ago, but yeah, this is the weekend and people need to be a little more considerate that we need things to keep moving. i'll change it..

I was considering those expansion picks at the end of rd1 and at the start of rd3 as part of Round 2. Since you've lost 3 players to other teams at this point, no one else can take guys from you.

Round 4 is a normal round (not a protection round). There is a rule similar to round 2, limiting the number of players a team can lose: The rule is that a team can lose 3 players max from all the previous rounds (so if they lose 2 players in round 2, they can only lose 1 this round, and if they lost only 1 last time, they can lose 2 this round). Unfortunately, this will make it a little tough to find a player to pick sometimes, so if your pick gets rejected (there will be a big red bar shown if that happens, rather than the blue one telling you the pick was successful), just keep trying other players until it works. There are about 12 picks left in round 4, and i think 17 valid players to pick. If you're having trouble finding a player to pick, use the Last Season Team page ( http://www.blitz94.com/draftab/lastseasonteam.asp?team=NYR ), and if the team has had LESS than 5 players drafted (in the 2nd table), then you can pick a guy from that team.

Due to jackets disappearing in the middle of the draft, I'm giving Hartford to donnybrook94. Hopefully he is online tonight and can make his 3 picks. If not, I'll pick some guys in his best interests.

in short, no. in long: during the draft, you can only trade players you have drafted or protected already in this round. the main reason for this is that if you traded guys from last season during this draft but before drafting/protecting them this season, i'd have to do some database kungfu to get some of the draft website to work properly. i don't really know why anyone would make a trade for players they might not actually get, anyway... because what you're talking about is trading the *right* to protect a guy.. even though someone else my draft that player before they get a chance to protect him.

yep, i think 6 teams will have lost 2 players (since there are 3 expansion teams, and they pick in rounds 2 and 3)

I'm giving Zalex 'til midnight, then if he still hasn't picked, i'm skipping him and we're moving on to the protection round. The protection round will last ONE DAY, Feb 5th. In the protection round, EVERYONE can pick at the SAME TIME. You don't have to wait your turn, you just pick. Also, there is no advantage in trying to wait until other people have picked to see who they picked -- the picks are SECRET, so you don't see who anyone picked with their protection picks until the protection round is over (the website will display "secret pick" instead of the player name). I will wait until about half the protection picks are done before I give Jackets and Zalex the highest remaining players at that point. If people don't make their protection picks on Feb 5th, or don't give me a player to pick for them tonight, I will just give them the top-rated player from their team last year.

yep, my fault every time things got rolling, i found a need to upgrade the site season 3 should be really smooth, though!

just gotta say that zalex was on this morning and made a pick, but i screwed things up with his deadline and he got skipped, so i gave him the chance to redo his pick by the proper deadline (~10 this evening)

The rd3 protection picks all take place in 26 hours, since they can be done at the same time rd4 will be a few days.. rd5 will be 1 day again. after that, pre-set GDL-style deadlines

yeah, it will. i really should have done 2 every 26 (which actually goes much faster).

you should be able to run it simply in windows on a sega genesis emulator (either Gens or Kega) unless you're looking at the SNES version.. i think ZSNES is the program for that? there's no need for dosbox.
