modern history doesn't lie. defense wins championships. statistically defensive teams have won more cups than offensive teams. no one uses pittsburgh because they are slow and they get knocked down too easily and they are useless defensively. Boston is also slow, but they have an awesome defense. same with toronto. we improve players to make it more exciting. You should also be going through the lady bying voting results and seeing who were the best defensive forwards - not just focusing on who had the most points that year.

Kirk McClean is the worst goalie in the game. in a serious tourney i think yo uwould go nowhere with vancouver.

I'd like to see the C button used as a fake shot - cause yo ushould be able to decide halfway through the attempted slapshot if you want to fake it or not. so why couldn't you hold down C, but if you want to fake you can cancel it wiht the B button?

sometimes i miss 92, using LA and blasting slapshot after slapshot with sandstrom. or using boston with dave christian.

no way people that are new shouldn't have to control the goalies - i never did when i started playing... It just becomes a huge advantage when you perfect the goalie lunge or the crunch behind the net moves with them.

KGman! I missed you, where have you been all this time?? I have tried setting up a toronto tourney, it doesn't seem like too many are interested. In the meantime, I wouldn't mind playing some exhibition games against you - and i'm sure my cuz would be in as well. We only really play on genesis however, I make no guarantees about my performance on another platform. a big tourney would be awesome though - my cuz and i just had a little NCAA type bracket playoff format, we eached picked eight teams and then lined the seeds up and went from their. Despite what he says (his handle is soccer1) he didn't have one team make it out of the quarter finals. So I guess its pretty much a formality that I'll be seeing you in the finals. sorry soccer1!

the only one i would even consider, is the one you forgot. I think the dump with A is invaluable and it would be atrocious if they took it out.

damn that sounsd pretty complicated... I thought it wouldn't be a problem, so me and my cuz went head first and bought a sega cd with anticipation of playing one of his modified versions of nhl 94 on an actual system.... but I don't think you can do it relatively easy, which blows big time cause we spent quite a bit on it.

My old roomated HATED that move, but he loved my consistent "make a bad pass with the goalie leading to an automatic goal" move once a game....

manual tending is the way to go. I went to my uncle's one christmas and we had a little tourney, but the deal was no manual goalie and i got demolished. everytime yo ugive up a breakaway its pretty much a goal....

wow I tried using Eklund, and I was impressed! not too fast, but quick with great stickhandling. A hidden gem, as was gord hynes. although I must admit its hard putting lindros on the bench when he's an 83 overall.

this game is the greatest....
