Hitting players after the whistle debate.
PixelDragon replied to PixelDragon's topic in General NHL'94 Discussion
Ok, maybe I'm playing this game too seriously... I don't have the majority here... and if the hitting is the GA what can I say... I will try to play more relax in the future... -
Hitting players after the whistle debate.
PixelDragon replied to PixelDragon's topic in General NHL'94 Discussion
I'm not trying to change anybody, I was just asking a question. I know clearly that the most part of the players take pleasure with the hitting. And I have no problem with that. My disapprove concerns what is stipulated in the Etiquette Guide : "In the case of a blowout, continuing to check after you score your 7+ goal can be considered taunting, particularly if your opponent doesn’t check back." And I check never back... -

Hitting players after the whistle debate.
PixelDragon replied to PixelDragon's topic in General NHL'94 Discussion
Can we stop to make confusions here... The Hitting, and my result in Classic Gens have nothing to do with my decision to play in SNES... I have played a lot of leagues and seasons in Gens the pasts years with a lot of loses, and I always finished my calendar... I play for the sport spirit , and for playing better every year. Sure I like to win, and my objective is a tittle, but I don't care about loses, it's the way to learn. With the Gens Emulator it's just impossible for me to progress. Maybe the Americans & Canadians players can't see the difference between Fusion an Gens. I'm on another continent and I see clearly the difference when use on a long distance netplay. Gens is just instable, often desynch and random framerate. If I wanna try the SNES version it's to make my own opinion and see if the comfort of play is better. That's nothing to do with the hitting dammit. And for the hitting question, I'm not again some hits after the whistle (we can say that's a tradition), I'm just again the entire destruction of the team at all whistles... It result an unpleasant impression of aggressiveness. But maybe we have just a different vision of the play... -
Hey, I recently pointed out to a group of "A players", that I disapprove the way they are always and always hitting the players after the whistle, like they where 12 years old. I understand that for a part of players hitting the players after the whistle is fun (I was doing the same when I was young...), but in competition I don't find that so cool, it's an unrespect of the opponent player I think. I asked to stop that with a "please" for having some nice and cool games... What a receive in response is a resounding "No" and a bunch of mockery, whats just proves me that they are effectively 12 years old... So I just ask a question to the community : What are you thinking about the hitting after the whistle ? Cool or not cool ? Regular or not in competition ?
-
Nice way to say welcome...
-
And ? Can you tell me the relationship between the two ? I'm not there to receive mockery you know.
-
Ok, I resign. I'm off from all Gens League. The instability of gens netplay is incompatible with long distance... The framerate is awful and always random. I'm tired to play some nonsenses games. Playing with Keka Fusion was a solution, but apparently nobody wants to hear of it or change anything. You can replace me. Thanks.

I'm available too, if there is a need for replacement in the SNES C or B. Thanks. -
I know all of this, I just imagined that with the IPX connection, we can start a multilayer game... As if we were on the same computer... If not we find certainly another way to manage an online game... I'm sure that this is possible.

The same way that for the classic install, or DosBox Install... The auto install has created a Hockey folder in : C:\Users\"your name"\AppData\Roaming\Abandonware-France\NHL Hockey 95\C\HOCKEY (where "your name" is the name of your personal Windows 7 session) Just follow the same instructions in the Roster readme file... Commonly you must create first a "File".dbx Here is a hold discussion with me and Snyder : Dragon, on 10 October 2012 - 07:36 AM, said: Hey, In the NHL95_Forever.zip there are some cool new rosters. To install it, the readme say that a .dbx file must be created... Question: how create a .dbx file ??? When you launch the game and you get to the menu screen, go to the first tab at the top ( File I believe). A list should pop up, and you want to go to 'Central Registry'. Once there you have to create a temporary database (DBX file). You this by going to the same tab as you would to save the rosters to the game, but instead of going to 'Save to game', there should be an option to make a temporary database ( 'Temporary Save' or something like that). A screen should pop up that allows you to name the database. Once you've saved it, exit 'Central Registry' and go to where you've stored NHL95 on your PC. Once there you want to go to the 'Hockey' directory inside your NHL 95 folder. You should see the temporary database ( it will have the name you typed into at the temporary save screen). Once you've found it you must extract the edited files from their original files ( the ones they came from when you downloaded them). Click copy and then paste them in your temporary database (it will ask you if you want to overwrite the files already in the database; do so). Once you've done this, go back to 'Central Registry', load up your temporary database, and if done correctly, the updated rosters should appear. Save to game and have fun with them! And you can find all you need here : http://forum.nhl94.c...nhl-95-forever/
