Leave it alone or fix it?

For those of you familiar with the original GDL for '94. I figured keeping a very similar structure with this league (If it's not broke, don't fix it). - 12 Man Rosters (2 G, 6 F, 4 D) - 56 Game Schedule - Top 8 from Each Conference make playoffs. *If we only get around 16 teams, could either do Top 4 or everyone makes it. - 5 Minute Periods - Penalties On, No Off-Sides - All Penalties, Reduced to ONE (1) Minute. (Including Fighting). - Fight timer increased from 40 to 60 seconds. - At least Two Bruisers (Fight Rating of 10+) required per team. *Maybe have a requirement of at least 1 in Starting Lineup. - NHL Teams Allowed (Past and Present) Other things to consider: - Weight bug fix (yes or no) - Conference Names - Division Names - Freydey/dcicon (GM mode) If I'm leaving anything out, please let me know. If we need to create some polls on these topics, I'm all for a democratic process. I'm in the process of transitioning the sites over to a free hosting site (to get them off my computer). I think the only thing that alludes me in NHLPA '93 is the offset for the Crowd Meter.

I have been digging around to try to find these to make a fair teamed ROM for the potential GDL '93. Finally, with some copying and pasting, and Smozoma's keen eye for hex code, they were easily found in an excel spreadsheet. I believe it was 77 who had success in another post finding the team ratings that show on the Ron Barr screen. These actual team attributes are located in three bytes before those team ratings (with one random byte in between) and look to be in the same format as in NHL '94 (for anyone who has toyed with this in EARE). For example: Team-ODPKHA ?? TeamRatings ASE - 702000 D6 99999099 ASW- 702000 C7 99999099 BOS- 331121 E6 67666756 Offense - 7 is strong, 0 is weak Defense - 0 is strong, 7 is weak PP - 2 is strong, 0 is weak PK - 0 is strong, 2 is weak Home - 2 is strong, 0 is weak Away - 0 is strong, 2 is weak After doing some looking around in the 30 Team ROM, the only difference is that the first team (Anaheim) is listed in a different location (the hex address is where the team info is in NOSE).

Hey Hokkee, some things are more important in life than '94. I hope that with your focus on getting your life back in order, things turn around for you and you can find some normalcy again. I'll slide you over to the waiting list, and you know you'll always have a spot in GDL. Keep us posted.

Beavers computer broke, he's trying to get one this weekend. I emailed Sebe, no response yet. Ugh, I guess trying for the end of the regular season by Nov. 20th is out the window.

Alright guys, still doing a decent job, but we are falling behind the pace. Ideally, the regular season should end in about 2-3 weeks. If it's starting to come down to the guys who are really far behind, we do have about 5 guys on the waiting list. I don't want to do it, but we're more than 6 weeks into the season. I'll have to consider replacing guys to get the games in. Let's finish up strong. The sooner we get the regular season and playoffs over, the sooner you draft nuts can start drafting again.

So Bettman can't get labor negotiations taken care of, but they can plan for the Islanders to move?? Maybe we can get some coverage of some of our leagues on the NBC Sports Network because there won't be any hockey this season anytime soon.

I agree. I'm going to incorporate an awards race page with all the trophies or something. A Bob Probert Black Eye Award for Fight Wins or something. Maybe have a rule where you have to draft 2 "Bruisers" on your 12 man roster (with at least a certain fighting rating requirement) and one has to be in your starting lineup, just to increase the chances for it.

Totally up for debate, the only thing I've come up with so far to make things interesting is to give extra points maybe for winning fights. So 2 for a win and X amount of points for each fight won. That way you get rewarded for being awesome at fighting, but maybe not at scoring goals. :-P Totally open for ideas though.
