It's a mix of both. I haven't seen Zalex in 4 whole days. Unless he died or is hospitalized in some way, I believe he would have seen my attempts to contact him with a separate app from AIM. He has his AIM set so he can't recieve offline messages and he doesn't even check the forums. If we forced him to be connected at all times then I don't think he would be able to ghost.

You are misunderstood. I'm not proposing we use the actual Facebook.. I'm proposing we use Facebook Messenger. You wouldn't be using Facebook, you would just have a fake FB account similar to how you have some random s**t for AOL. You don't need any personal information to use it..

Or better yet.. use AOL to sign up for Messenger? lol.

Because you missed the part where I said you don't need a phone number!!! lol. Millions of people on Facebook don't have a phone.FB and Messenger are DIFFERENT. Facebook is to AOL as Messenger is to AIM. Using AIM requires an AOL account but I'm sure most of you guys never use AOL. I thought a fake account wouldn't be a bad idea since people were willing to go on AIM of all things with fake identities anyway. Why not just make an account for messenger named Flaming Pavel Bure?

That would be a good solution but like Brutus said, some guys deliberately avoid AIM because they want to avoid the extra chatter sometimes so it would probably be beneficial to use something other than AIM!! Also us Canadians can't access AIM on mobile.

I recently noticed that the most effective forms of communication via Internet have something that never has to be signed out. All group chats today are done through Text Messaging or FB Messenger. This is because guys are ALWAYS connected or signed in to their Text Messaging/FB Messenger. AIM is a good way to message people, but it's not efficient for group chats. AIM is an application that makes more sense for exis. You sign in when you feel like chatting or playing a couple of games then sign out when you are done. Something like a league requires people to be connected as much as possible in order for it to run at an optimal level of smoothness. It's very easy to go a whole day without signing into AIM but it's nearly impossible to go even 8 hours without seeing a text or Facebook message. If we could come up with a way to get a group chat STRICTLY for scheduling games using an application that you never have to sign out of and is always running provided there is an internet connection I think there would be a decent increase in games played. We could leave the general chatter to AIM or a second group chat and have the main group chat for those looking to play games. This way the players who don't like the spam can mute all the unnecessary chat and just look for games. I have seen some guys suggest WhatsApp, but I think using FB Messenger is the best way to go: Free No Phone Required (unlike WhatsApp) Can be registered and connected with phone number (No Facebook Account Required) Can be registered without a phone number but with a Facebook Account (for those who don't want to give out their phone numbers) Has an app available to all countries Has a browser version Thoughts?

You need to have other coaches destroy you before you can improve. I never improved until I got the chance to play in Raph's Survivor League and lost to every A player. That league was great and was definitely my favourite.

There was a great post by a guy named lakingscuprun or something (I think) during the GDL 4 playoffs that explains the issue perfectly. It's the system that is used. I'll say this everytime until people listen: Tecmo Bowl has 28-man leagues and they achieve 100% completion. Those guys play their games knowing they'll get punished if they don't. The reason games aren't played here is because there is no incentive for playing. There you get a punishment for each checkpoint you miss. It's a four strikes and you're out system, with each strike having a worse penalty with the fourth being an automatic boot. There is a vacation/exemption thread where players can apply for exemption of a checkpoint due to a situation, so guys aren't punished in the most extreme of times. Players are REWARDED for having a certain amount of games played at each checkpoint with a gold star. For example, anyone who has 10 games at the 6-game checkpoint will get a gold star. Two gold stars can be turned in to remove any strikes. Strikes carry over to the next season. Believe it or not, there are 28 coaches in the league and these guys play for gold stars and brag about them.

There HAS to be a good solution out there. We just haven't found it yet. I believe the best way is to copy what Tecmo does because theirs WORKS. If we take something that works then it shouldn't fail.

I wasted my time and took about 7-8 losses because I was rushing to get some games in and had to play on my laptop. The extension is wasting the time of those who took the time to FOLLOW the rules. Yeah some people may be busy, but does NOBODY ever think that busy people MAKE time to fit games in before the deadline? f**k. Tecmo Bowl guys have 28-man leagues and get 100% games played in same season length. This is bullshit. Guys like Voc aren't busy, they just don't give a f**k because they'll get an extension.

I was referring to the seasons of Classic before the draft was implemented. Top guys rarely selected DET/CHI as their #1. I think only the weaker players pick DET/CHI due to the advantage it gives in lower level play. At the higher level there is very very very little advantage as long as both players have good teams. The top 10 teams become interchangeable and then it becomes a matter of preference at that point. Not every player is going to prefer CHI to DAL, or DET to CGY, or BUF to BOS.

So then why did the top players rarely pick DET/CHI for their teams in classic? I can see the weaker players picking DET/CHI, but at a higher level not everyone is going to be picking DET/CHI. I don't think DET/CHI have been used by any previous Classic champion besides flasox. I could be wrong. I do see the point though.

Why not just pick your team? Most simple way to do it. Isn't that how exis work?

I don't have any certain time really. I guess we will just have to run into each other by chance unless there is a specific time you can play.

You've never played me.. you've practiced against me. There's a difference. I may have holes in my game, but until anyone comes close to beating me without bugs... I don't see them.

Here is what I believe.. if a player is picked earlier in Blitz but later in GDL, it's because of the C check. Take Iafrate and Svoboda.. Svoboda goes earlier in GDL and always later in Blitz, which is an indicator of being worse. Sure Svoboda is the better skater, but that isn't the reason WHY anyone considers him over Iafrate. The reason is because he is a better body checker. Nobody picks Svoboda over Iafrate because of skating.. give me a break. With the CB check you can body check with Iafrate (who is way better) so it's a clear advantage.

I don't use macros, lol. I'm natural It's not about getting better, it's about not being able to do anything against it. It's like a fourth option in Rock-Paper-Scissors that beats all three. There is no disadvantage to this CB check, while there are disadvantages to the other defensive options in the game. You can say I need to get better.. but until I lose in Blitz, I don't think I have to.

And remember.... In Blitz, where there are no cheats, nobody has come close to beating me!!!!
