IceStorm70
Montreal - 6 @ Dallas - 4 Montreal - 2 @ Dallas - 4 Dallas - 2 @ Montreal - 3 Dallas - 6 @ Montreal - 5 Montreal - 3 @ Dallas - 6 Dallas - 4 @ Montreal - 1 Montreal, Que CA - In a spirited, physical and sometimes dirty series the Dallas Stars pulled out a 4-2 hard fought series win over the Les Habitants of Montreal. In the end the speed of the Dallas forwards and the surprising play of Jon Casey sealed the fate of the Habs 4 games to 2. The first 4 games of the series were back and forth, punch for punch games. Up 2 games to 1 and down 5-4 late in the 3rd period of gm 4, Vinny Damphousse tied the game with :30 to go on his patented backhand to forehand deke. Irritated but not flustered, Neal Broten bullied his way through the montreal D and scored on Roy with :22 to go. This proved to be the turning point in this series. After game 4, Dallas imposed their will on Patrick and the Canadians outscoring them 10-4 combined in games 5 and 6. Sjodin and Johnson settled in defensively and with some timeley backchecking by the forwards, Dallas was able to contain the bull rushing light weighted Canadians in both games. Flasox geat series and season bro. Thanks Halifax, Chaos and Evan for running a smooth Fall season. Looking forward to next season.

flasox24
A great series no doubt--very close for most of the way. Congrats to Icestorm, a truly tough opponent, quite possibly my toughest opponent ever on this site. He stymied all kinds of shots from so many angles with his manual goalie. It was a great run to make it to the finals, but MTL really couldn't match the speed and shot power of DAL. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships. Ice gave up a miniscule 20 goals in 6 gms, an eye popping 3.33 GAA number to the highest scorer in the conference. RedWingDevil
I guess he can work it with any goalie he wants. Anyone brave enough to use the lesser teams or Edmonton?
