naples39
First off, gotta give a shout to KG. This was an amazing series, and as much fun as I've ever had playing 94. Simply phenomenal stuff. Game 1 - HFD 5-4 (OT) Still reeling from the 1st period loss of Roenick for the game, the game heads into 3rd 1-1. Chicago scores on 2 quick penalty shots at beginning of 3rd to go up 3-1. After an untimely disconnect breaks up the game, Chicago goes up 4-1 but Larmer is also knocked out for period. Seeing blood in the water, KGman storms back with 3 goals in last 2 minutes, and ultimate prevails in OT. Game 2 - CHI 6-3 Chicago comes out in this game with a vengeance, storming out to 5-0 lead. As is becoming the pattern, KGman answers with 3 in 3rd to make it 5-3, until Chicago settles it down and holds on for victory. Games 3 & 4, HFD 3-4 & CHI 5-4 There really isn't much that can be said other than these were the best games of 94 that I've been a part of. Constant end-to-end action, great saves, and games literally coming down to the buzzer. Game 5, HFD 4-2 WIth the series now a best of 3, KGman goes ahead with 2 brilliant onetimers off phenomenal passes by Terry Yake. Joe Murphy does his best to counter Yake's heroics, after rampaging through 2 HFD puck carriers and scoring on a floater. A late onetimer by Murphy however finds the post, and KGman finishes the game off. Game 6, CHI 5-4 Facing elimination, Chicago shows their resiliency and plays most of the game in front. KGman conjures up another 3rd period comeback, erasing a 5-2 3rd period deficit, but Zalapski's slapper finds the glass in the last 5 seconds. Game 7, CHI 5-2 With everything on the line, Chicago is devastated by the loss of Roenick for the game less than 2 minutes into the first period. Larmer however slides over to center, and comes up with the performance of his life, banging in all 5 Chicago goals, including a back-breaking 3rd period goal when Chicago was shorthanded 2 men. A vintage performance by Belfour in the 3rd staves off another furious finish by KGman.
Setar
...KGMan has lost the championship. The universe shall implode now. Anyway, congrats on the win. Upset of the year. So, Mr. Marc, how do you feel about winning the championship and besting the seemingly unbeatable KGMan? Who do you think will win the GENS B championship? Are you considering running for a coaching position on a professional hockey team? </reporter>
