angryjay93
Late night while most of you guys were sleeping me D and discussed the whole schedule/alignment thing and we came up with a solution. What we will have is 2 conferences with 2 divisions each. This means there will be 4 divisions with 6 teams in it. The schedule will have a team playing its 5 division opponents 4 times and the rest of the teams in the league 2 times for a total of 56 games, which is just the same amount as last season. The top 8 teams from each conference will qualify to the playoffs at the end of the season. Last night I made up some divisions that are trying to be as even as possible and i sent them to D, he will look over what i proposed and make the neccessary tweaks if need be. Here are the proposed divisions Eastern Conference: Atlantic Division: New York Rangers Pittsburgh New York Islanders Hartford Washington Tampa Bay Northeast Division: Buffalo Montreal Boston Ottawa Quebec New Jeresey Western Conference: Central Division: Chicago Detroit Florida Dallas Calgary Edmonton Pacific Division: Toronto St. Louis Anahiem Los Angeles Vancouver San Jose Again this is a proposed alignment but it should give you a fair estimate of where you will likely end up this season. Flames4LifeFLA
With a few geographical tweaks, how about... Atlantic- NYI, NYR, Pit, Wsh, Fla, NJ Northeast- Hfd, Buf, Mon, Bos, Ott, Que Central- Chi, Det, Dal, Tor, StL, TB (the Lightning originally began as a member of the Norris AKA Central Division) Pacific- Cal, Edm, Ana, LA, Van, SJ
IAmFleury'sHipCheck
If Tampa Bay comes back to the Norris, then I think Dmitri should have to start Manon Rheaume in goal. Hey there sailors!

Scribe99
It looks to me like the East is stronger than the West. You have 6 playoff teams from last year in the East. The only rookie we have is Monkey, who I thought was a pretty tough player in other leagues. In the West, there are 5 playoff teams from last year. And we also have three rookies in there too, which I haven't heard of before this league (correct me if I'm wrong). No offense intended. I think the East should probably get one of those rookies from the West, and add another strong vet to the West.
angryjay93
In response to Scribe's post the West is a strong conference. The 4 playoff teams are Tor, LA, Chi, and Det. Skool was the 7th seed in the west which is a strong showing considering the depth in that conference last season Carse took florida to the 6th seed in the original rom last season and that warrents some respect. We also have some young up and comers in Ana and Van with Dal being a seasoned veteran in the original rom. Hopefully that addresses your concerns about equality in the conferences. Also note, that these placements arent final, D will make the final call.
Scribe99
Yeah looking at it again, it does look more even than I originally thought. I like the conference and divisional idea as we should get some really good rivalries going, starting in my division with the 'battle for New York'.
