  1. I have so much respect now for people that do hacks and put forth effort. This is some of the most time consuming stuff I have EVER done. Basically in a week's time I've only assembled Boston, Buffalo, Calgary, Chicago, and Detroit's Legends teams... But, it's coming along!
  2. lol... eric_the_beast from the SportsGamer Forums?
  3. I actually have a game used stick of his from Edmonton that he gave my dad after they played (I'm assuming he was with the Whalers then). It is very heavy for a stick.
  4. Well, after some trouble shooting I've figured out the issue. My guess is this is probably something commonly known and being the n00b that I am at hacking, I just figured it out. I had my menus set for: LINE CHANGES: ON ... as soon as I turned them off the starting goalies were always the starters. When you turn them on and let the teams cycle through, sometimes the goalies switch to the backups. I guess I'll just throw a disclaimer into the .rar/.zip file when I'm done to change them to ON after selecting the teams, cause this game is predicated around line changes getting the full effect of the franchise legends.
  5. I would appreciate that! I'll definitely keep the progress posted. Things are going well so far other than this minor starting goalie glitch that I gotta iron out.
  6. EDIT: Never mind, figured it out.
  7. EDIT: Well, it appears this has been done before, I'm not surprised. Regardless I'm going to finish my own for some experience and self-satisfaction ----- Well, I'm making an NHL Legends NHLPA 93 GENS hack. As the title implies, it will have all the legends of the particular franchises. This will also include some doubles of players, but with different ratings at their different locations (ex. wayne gretzky - oilers, wayne gretzky - la kings). As of now, I excluded the All Star teams from the ROM (For byte space amongst other reasons)... if I get to it/feel like it, I may add the Ducks & Panthers, but for now I'm excluding them just cause of my n00b status. I'm doing my best to research stats, stories, and videos as well and as often as I can to create accurate depictions of all-time teams for the particular franchise. I know the 80's - Now pretty well, but my 50's-70's hockey is a little lacking compared to my 80's and up knowledge. So I'm doing my best reading up and what not. So far, so good. ------ So far I've made the Boston Bruins & Buffalo Sabres (As well as other minor touch ups here and there). Here are some screens: Also, I'm using NOSE & a hex editor.
  8. Alright, that's what I figured for the 2nd part. Thanks a lot man.
  9. First, I'd just like to say thanks to WBoy for creating such a user friendly hacking program. I love it! Well, I'm currently delving into making my own game and I have a couple questions: - Is there a way to just completely eliminate a team? The ROM that I'm making, I felt that the All-Star teams were unnecessary. Being the n00b that I am to this, I just deleted a bunch of the players to free up some BYTE space. As a result, if you leave the all star teams on the team-selection screen and allow them to cycle through their players after the 1st player, the game will glitch up. To counter this I just put a warning (DONT USE TEAM, LEAVE NOW... kinda thing) instead of the team name, but I would still rather just the teams not be there. If this is possible to eliminate them completely, how do I go about this? - Is there a way to edit any of the text on the game opening screen (Goalie, scrolling text)? Like, who it's made by, and what not? Thanks in advance. Sorry for the excessive wordage.
  10. I really wish I knew what I was doing with my router and port forwarding.... I'm itchin' so bad to play this online (regardless of getting smoked by people on here)! Just felt like sharing.
  11. I've only played SNES a few times (due to the fact I don't own that version yet), I totally forgot about the hits. Haha, they are pretty ridiculous... they are basically laying down to take a nap. Both games are definitely their own beast and have their own unique feel, I'm not a hater but I still prefer the Gens version cause I grew up with that one.
  12. I'm fine, thank you (only Greek I know, haha). Haha, that's cool - about your first NHL game. My dad did like to mix it up from time to time!
  13. Haha, yeah. I get that all the time.
  14. D - Chris Kotsopoulos (Rangers 80-81, Whalers 81-85, Leafs 85-89, Short stint on the Red Wings). I was happy with his ratings too, haha.
  15. Haha. I don't mind the SNES version, I find both of them to be good in their own certain ways. For some reason I kind of enjoy the more sluggish pace of Gens. I really wish I could figure out how to play this game online (even though I'd get owned), I think I have to do some things with my router that I'm honestly not smart enough to accomplish at this point. I followed the tut on here and it seems to be a router issue for sure... maybe I'll read into it sometime soon. Thanks for the warm welcome!
  16. I'm new to the forums (but have been lurking for quite a while). I've always loved this game, as well as many of the others - so I was very happy to find this website. Recently I tracked down and bought all of the NHL's up to 98 at a fleamarket, it's been good times haha. I guess you could say NHLPA 93 is my favorite, with NHL 94 coming in a close second. I grew up playing 93 more so than 94. My father is an ex NHL-er, http://www.legendsofhockey.net:8080/Legend...sp?player=13225 , so I was very excited to see the 1980's hacks (my dad has a blog if you're interested in reading... it's about NHL but centered on the Rangers: www.kotsyskorner.blogspot.com). Well, thanks for taking time to read this.
  17. First time poster here. I just wanted to give you a big thanks for making these. My father played in the NHL from 1980-1990 and I always wanted to play a video game with him in it (other than making him or something). Now I can! This is really sweet.
