  1. I have a sealed SNES game as well with the same exact seams. (tongue twister!) This is legit, and in good shape!
  2. Hi @Besteric99! There aren't any leagues running right now, but you can always request some exhibition games on our Discord server. Discord is where you can interact real-time. It's also best to plan ahead of time instead of just asking for an immediate game. So something like, "I'll be around tonight or tomorrow at 9pm est if anyone is available for a game". You can find the link to our Discord chat server in my signature. Here's a guide on how to play online as well: http://www.nhl94online.com/html/getting-started.php Good luck! Hope to catch you around.
  3. @halifax losing his mind after legalization of weed in Canada.
  4. We are just posting this in our Facebook and Twitter pages, no system preference, just whatever people want to vote for. The only people mentioning systems are the buds from this community and the vast majority (95+%) of the rest of the people just vote and probably don't know there is much of a difference to begin with. Ultimately it's meant to be fun and for a way to get new people to engage....response and discussions have been fun so far. We even got Theo Fleury to retweet his round 02 poll, and he's running away with it vs. Robitaille, lol
  5. That is amazing idea, not sure how we handle goalies though.
  6. Well, they have live tournaments and online tournaments in the same section, but their online leagues are a new section right in front. I have to think about this more, because @aqualizard's idea wouldn't make online leagues any less "buried", they would just move underneath "tournaments and leagues". I'll see what others think, but one idea would be putting "active leagues" as it's own section in the front, and the archived/dead leagues somewhere else. As of now, I like having a section for leagues that includes everything, including a place to throw new ideas.
  7. Coming this week! We took the EA Sports Overall Player ratings to seed NHL'94 players into our own March Madness style bracket! Players will be bracketed in 4 divisions, Adams, Norris, Patrick and Smythe. The game will be simple, vote for which player you would choose on your NHL'94 team! Winners advance to the next round. We will be releasing voting polls here, and on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. I realize which system you use will be a huge factor, but this is meant to be a fun gimmick to do during the March Madness basketball tournament, and not a serious exercise to overthink. Just vote on who you would prefer!
  8. Anyone who has had to play in a tournament like this knows this feeling:
  9. I would think with Sandstrom and Robi that LA had enough shot, and frankly Bourque is taking out anyone near him whether it's Carson or Gretzky. Was thinking at some point Gretzky's agility and stick may make an appearance to try and escape those Bruins! I feel happy I knew it was Millen, lol. This definitely was fun to do, and I would love to try it again in the future. @Edge of 94' WI has also introduced me to a way in which we can have two people doing commentary, so that is something to keep in mind for the future...maybe even an "interview" style with a player watching his own series!? So I can scream at you live WHY U SUB JUNEAU? Of it's it's Annatar, WHY U NO TIMEOUT? One thing I forgot to actually say was GGS (!!) to you and @annatar! It's hard to convey the skill level you guys play and try to get that across while watching live, but that was great. Definitely felt closer than 5 games, but ultimately I thought you had the upper hand this series. There were some major manual goalie saves that may have been the difference. QUESTION -- I noticed when I scanned back that Annatar DID pull his goalie at the end of game 04 (around 40:20 mark), but there was NO extra attacker? So strange, I never saw that before. Also, during that same sequence, the Boston bench was jumping and celebrating! I never noticed that before. (look at the Boston bench!)
  10. Aww that's awesome, you'll get it! Color change won't be as arduous as changing the entire graphic.
  11. He's not easily hackable, the ref looked to be a complicated graphic. He looks embedded in an area 5C40C (rink tile graphics 366884, palette 1). See, I changed just his face in the tile with the arrow It's definitely not clean, but hopefully enough to get you started sleuthing! Good luck, let us know if you find anything out or how to piece this guy together if possible!
  12. The twitch stream should be available for a few days, I'll upload to YouTube later: http://www.twitch.tv/kingraph/v/396558804
  13. Sorry for late notice, but I am going to do this around 4:00 est. I'll also record and post for viewing after.
  14. Trust me, nobody likes numbers and data more than me, but that gets into a slippery slope on rankings. I agree with Coach, keep it at an eyeball/sniff test after playing thousands of games, tens of thousands when you factor in all of us combined. "Is it a fair matchup" If it's a fringe, or questionable, we leave it off as a guide. It's the middle that gets a little fuzzy. I'll clear up some noise by focusing on fringe matchups and asking this community in a poll.
  15. I can also utilize our social media -- ask a question "is this a fair matchup" and if we get more than 20% or whatever saying "No", then that can help with our fringe team decisions.
  16. I need to digest a little more on what @angryjay93 and @corbettkb have posted above. Again, not so much as ranking, but it helps to think "is this a fair matchup?" and at what point does it seem like too much of a stretch. I'd rather be conservative. At the end of the day, it's a guide meant to help. You can go crazy and pick MTL vs PHI *ahem* if you wanted to.
  17. Maybe move the purple bar down through TOR and NYR and elminate the brown bar altogether? That means TOR and NYR would be eligible between BOS and STL. Maybe?
  18. And what I mean by not ranking, BOS,WPG, CGY, and DAL all have the same rank as they all share the same color bands. I don't necessarily need to shift in between those teams for now.
  19. Let's finish this a bit more because I'm not as concerned with rankings per se, but matchups. So QUE should be fair against EDM, PIT, PHI, STL?
  20. Thanks, I am hoping to find out exactly (or at least directionally) what those modifiers do sooner than later!
  21. Sorry for the large picture - I have to make a smaller version without logos.
  22. There have been many rankings done for tournaments where we group teams into tiers, but something always felt off. It was either too many tiers, not enough tiers, or the personal preferences around which teams on the fringe make it or not into a particular tier. I am trying an updated method that doesn't group teams into tiers so rigidly, but rather offers a scale based on team. Here's my first pass: The idea is that you find a team and then a reasonable matchup will be any other team that shares the color tier. UPDATE V02 AS OF 04/09/19 You can also assume the top teams in a band are stronger than the bottom. So St. Louis vs New York Islanders, STL would be stronger, but that is still a reasonable matchup. However, STL vs TOR, TOR would be the stronger matchup, but still reasonable. TOR can't play NYI though. I found this to be a pretty good exercise in that it will also give you a general team ranking. Some teams are interchangeable that are only in one band (NYI/NJ/HFD/WSH), but it's really the fringe teams that make you think. I included the rosters of main players, bolded the top 50ish, and added home/away advantages. I think this can be printed as a good reference. Having said all that, I've messed around with this enough and came to the point where my mind started turning into mush. So I'm sharing it now with the group to get your input, see if it makes sense, see if I'm missing something, etc. Thanks for taking the time to review.
