Ever been to North Shore of Oahu, @CoachMac? My favorite place on Earth so far! Got to check out the Pipeline Masters a few years back, but left just prior to the Eddie. Unreal experience!

    #EddieWouldGo

Yes.  At 22 I had to choose between Beach Life and Surfing or Mountain Life and Skiing.

I chose the latter and have no regrets, but still like to get my surf fix periodically.

Also part of the reason I live in Northern Nevada as opposed to Wyoming.

I can't seem to find the 5vs5 slapshot rom coach made? I got the 2v2 but the 5v5 seems to have disappeared on, the pinned post and I need it again for my tablet please! :)

Sorry to say I don't have this rom anymore.
I did update all of my Original 6 roms (1952-1967), 1970 rom, and 1980 rom.
Included in the update is more varied and accurate skating ratings for Forwards and Defensemen.
If I had researched in college the way I have for these roms I would be a Phd.

All other Forward and Defensemen attributes are based on my template posted on Page 1 of this thread.
New Goalie Ratings using GAA and Goalie Point Shares.
Goalie Template is now posted on Page 1 of this thread.
    New 1980 Olympic Teams Ratings.
I found the 1980 Olympic Team Pre-Olympic Tour Stats which provided me with a more accurate way to rate the Olympic Players.

updated team ratings (Overall, Home/Away, PP/PK ratings)

This is what is used for simulated games.

Plus offense and defense which it looks like you also updated.

Overall actually is the only one that does not matter.

  4. This is really cool and graphically beautiful.

I love the curtains being pulled back.

    BUT,

I just looked at Naples rom Version 1.31 in EARE

    AND

Naples rom has all the sim data equal for all teams so the actual simulation is equivalent to flipping a coin.

Everybody has a 4 for offense and defense.
All PP and PK are Average and Home/Away is set to Average for all teams.

I would like to see this run with the sim data accurate from the current season.

I just uploaded the BIN file for a 3rd and now final time (LOL).  I made a couple more ratings tweaks but, That said, I'm now done with this file.

    First off nice job!

More people editing is good for the game.

#2 Good Luck being done!  I can already tell you are sick.

    You will never be done.

Ratings will dance in your head all night!:grimace:

I saw that thread actually and super cool and great job with those logos! How did you edit them though? When I opened the zip file I couldn't figure out how to edit the pro set logo. Also will this work with the ROMs that are more than 30 teams?

Additionally what about the in-game logo where the clock counts down where normally the EA logo I believe is there?

    Thanks again!

Not sure about other than the 30 team rom.
I have no interest in any other size roms.
No offense meant there, I think the work on the modern roms is awesome but my NHL has 6-21 Teams.

I made each logo using Paint.  6x4 so 48x32.

In game timer is found in wboys original TM tutorial which Smoz has put here.

Can you explain in a little bit more detail what you did here?

I checked out the 94 one.

Many player ratings changed and changed the lines of many teams.  (FYI, the player cards are messed up.)

He changed some Arena names (ie Montreal Forum in French)

Made many of the uniforms brighter.

    Added a few players.

I haven't noticed any lag. But every TV and every person is different. I'll have to do some more testing, I haven't played many sports games on it. Hopefully you were able to get most of your money back. Sorry bud.

No big deal, I took a small loss.
It was well worth it to not wonder anymore!

I really appreciate your help and guidance.

If you really want a nice CRT, look for Sony PVM series. I was lucky to find one in a lab I was working in where the guy was getting rid of it. Paid $70 for shipping. They are $$$ but they will display RGB and are "lag-free". They are also pretty heavy. They are professional CRTs, mostly used in video editing and hospitals. Composite on it even looks great.

Yes!  I have had my eye on a few of these on ebay.
I am keeping that RGB cord, I bought for when i find one of these.

I also have noticed a huge difference in CRT's.
I have 4, but one is significantly better than the other 3.

I am keeping the Mini Gens HD, just in case.

But I think for emulation a lap top and Kega then gens are better.

Clint Malarchuk is the goalie who's neck was cut open by a skate in 1989. Since then he's had bad PTSD.

(warning: main photo has some blood)

(whoops, I thought he was in 94, but actually he retired after the 91-92 season)

    He was in 93.

    Lives in Minden, Nevada!

Ex-wife lives about 3 houses up from me.
    Super nice lady.

I've met him a couple times and he was a really good guy.

What particular complaints did you have about the Framemeister and the Mini Gens HD?

If it's lag.. that could actually be a setting on your TV. New TVs with motion smoothing (like 120Hz mode) will add delay, but you can usually disable it -- my TV has a Game Mode that I can enable per-input (e.g., on HDMI input #2).

    #1 Lag.

#2 It just doesn't look quite right.  I can't explain it but almost like people who get botox.
Ya the wrinkles are gone, but it doesn't look right.

Not the TV I had it set to Game Mode and I tried it at a Retro game store in town where the guy helped me.

Again just my opinion, both are decent products, but i would be disappointed to play Live on either of these.

  11. I tried the Framemeister.

    Then resold it on ebay.

I tried the new Mini Gens HD from Gamerz Tec.

Keep your CRT and Original Gens, there really is nothing comparable!
Original Equipment is far and away the best!

The next best thing is playing on Kega Fusion and then playing on Gens!
