  1. If Philly beats Boston, you'll face Philly, not Buffalo.
  2. This would mean I'd get the first pick, having not played in any of the leagues - everyone else here has. Anyone who has played me knows I am significantly weaker.
  3. Doing that gives me the idea of dubbing in goal horns for games commentated while I'm at my grandparents'
  4. I'll just add mine here. 1. Chicago 2. Pittsburgh 3. Buffalo 4. Vancouver 5. Quebec 6. St. Louis 7. Detroit 8. Winnipeg 9. NY Rangers 10. Toronto 11. Los Angeles 12. Calgary 13. Montreal 14. Washington 15. Hartford 16. Ottawa
  5. Game 7 in OT is more exciting than a sweep. Sweeps are nice in that you have some time to scout other teams before the next round, but the series (or better yet the Stanley Cup) coming right down to sudden death is amazingly exciting. I've never seen an overtime game 7 in real life, but I bet it's really tense, both teams trying as hard as possible to slip up. Game 7 OT is also the sign of a good series, both teams fighting hard to win. The best series would probably be all 1-0 games decided in multiple overtimes, with game seven going to three, for or maybe even five. It might feel more fulfilling as well, because you know you earned the series instead of just rolling over an easy opponent or winning in forfeit.
  6. Well, I got three more right but flubbed Philadelphia/Boston in SNES A
  7. I know, I was joking. I just hope I get first pick, I don't think I'll do any good with a team other than Chicago.
  8. Thanks for realizing that at fifteen I can drive out to Radio Shack and get a microphone instead of having to use my headphones.</sarcasm>
  9. Camtasia Studio to record, VirtualDub to compress. I've been looking for something in Gens to turn down the sound, but no go so far...might just have to disable it entirely. I'm trying to speak over it though, I raise my voice a bit in game four when the game sounds come on.
  10. You screwed up my picks, but from the way that looks, I might have you as a dark horse to go deep.
  11. Damn, I was stupid for picking Quebec over Pittsburgh in SNES B.
  12. "Sorry, you must be 18 or over to watch this video."
  13. I'll play. I call Chicago >_>

  15. If Deer posts his predictions, so am I. I'm 3-0 in Gens btw. SNES A - Wales (1) Quebec (32-6-2) vs. (8) Montreal (3-25-0-12) - Quebec in 5 (2) Pittsburgh (29-8-3) vs. (7) Buffalo (4-22-0-14) - Pittsburgh in 4 (3) Hartford (24-10-6) vs. (6) N.Y. 16. Game 1: Game two was rejected for being too long, I hope to get game 3 and 4 up, and I might trim the end off game 2. Edit: Game 4, IMO a better one:
  17. I never really noticed differences between SNES and GENS...
  18. I'm actually allowing Gens and SNES players to play, and the "home" advantage will also be a platform one. Not like cross-platform is really hard, if you find out what does what you can map the shoot button on Gens to the one you use normally, the only difference will likely be graphics and sound.

    My god...

I just got Jari Kurri out five seconds in. Right after Murphy leaves the box, he relieves the Kings of Wayne Gretzky for the remainder of the first. Top that.
  20. San Jose are underrated. The AI works wonders with them. However, the worst team IS Ottawa, and the champion from last year should be stuck with Ottawa if we do draft. If we don't, I'm going to be making sure I'm one of the first to register so I get Chicago. Unlike most, I practice with them sometimes and can actually use the TEAM. Chicago are good for anyone, but if you can use them as a team, everyone else is screwed. Except for LA, because I can't seem to beat them.
  21. I'll put up my predictions for round one here. Note that for the records I omitted Ties and DNPs if they had 0 in both, and just DNPs if they had no DNPs. My record so far: 4-0 Gens A - Wales (1) Washington (28-10-2) vs. (8) Pittsburgh (15-25) - Pittsburgh in 6 (Pittsburgh wins series 4-0) (2) Hartford (27-6-0-7) vs. (7) Florida (17-20-3) - Hartford in 4 (3) Philadelphia (24-16) vs. (6) Quebec (19-20-1) - Philadelphia in 6 (4) Montreal (20-17-3) vs. (5) Boston (19-18-3) - Boston in 7 Gens A - Campbell (1) Chicago (32-8) vs. (8) Dallas (12-25-0-3) - Chicago in 4 (2) Winnipeg (30-9-0-1) vs. (7) Calgary (15-25) - Winnipeg in 4 (Winnipeg wins series 4-0) (3) Detroit (28-12) vs. (6) Los Angeles (16-24) - Detroit in 6 (Detroit wins series 4-1) (4) Vancouver (20-20) vs. (5) Toronto (20-20) - Vancouver in 7 (Vancouver wins series 4-3) Gens B - Wales (1) N.Y. 22. Addisonbr did badly in Gens A using Edmonton, missing the playoffs. However, in Gens B, he used Chicago and had a record of 37-3. I'd use the worse record, as Chicago quite obviously isn't an accurate measure of how good you are.
  23. Roenick also falls down when you breathe on him. I've seen GRETZKY lay Roenick out.
  24. LA are a better team than the game says. I'm usually good with Chicago, but LA just murder me. Pittsburgh, though, aren't really that good. Aside from Mario and Jagr, they're average. I usually just key on Mario and Jagr. Last time I played someone who used Pittsburgh, I beat them 6-2 with Chicago.
  25. I'm thinking of a small tournament for the winter, but it will only have 26 entrants (one to a team). Also, you don't get to pick teams, I assign teams based on what level you played in and, if applicable, your playoff results. If you were in both levels, I take the worse record - for example, addisonbr didn't do so hot in A with Edmonton, but only lost 3 as Chicago in B, however, Chicago isn't an accurate team to measure skill with. You also get priority if you didn't play, however, people with bad league records will get the top teams, then I'll go people who didn't play, then everyone else. So the entrant from a B league who did the worst (unless someone who did worse and was in A enters) gets Chicago, and the best entrant from A (unless someone who did better in B enters) gets the worst team remaining.
