  2. Friday is gonna be my final workday so I might be going party afterwards and that's why I have not answered as I have no clear sight of saturday yet. If things go 'good', I'll be around for sure, but at latest sunday all day surely. Just can't commit to saturday yet, but maybe. :E
  3. I am not requesting changes now. This is only talks and feedback for future. I am completely fine how the roster is now, but if we wanna make a "perfect" rom (there is awalys room for improvement), we should have talks here and back up our talks with some proof. Personally I don't like Pulkkinen so much, but when he winds up that shot, it's fun to watch and I am also suggesting a huge drop off to his speed, which makes him more unusable, from 5/5 to 4/3. Trying to be objective here and not in a bitchy way I respect the job Skip has done, hundreds of players it's hard to get accurate, can't follow or have knowledge of all the players.
  4. Guy has a wicked shot. It's in the shades of Hull slapper. Shades at least. It's his skating that is keeping him down I'd say. You might have to revize that! ;D
  5. Detroit: Pulkkinen should be slower. Maybe even 4 agility and 3 speed. Good offensive awareness to help out his positioning with 5, he is defensively responsible as well as most Detroit products who go through their AHL school. Guys like Tatar who are offensively more gifted might get a bye. Pulkkinen has a cannon of a shot and shotpower should be 5/6, it was one of the reasons he ever got drafted. Used on powerplay. Was one of the top guns in AHL last season, but might be too slow to really make it out in the NHL.
  6. Use the smoz scale to 15 and you have more depth and room to use the attributes.
  7. Having 2 players on offence with speed 5 is definately a treat and goes a long way. This can be seen in the drafted teams from past and how great they have been, nothing taken away from the coaches they have done. I have hard time seeing that 3 Bondra with speed 6 would do the same trick though, having at least one 5/5 is encouraged. Speed of the team correlates definately with scoring effectiviness. Having one 5+ seems like a must have in draft leagues (Plabax could be excluded for now). Also low weight enhances your deking ability and heavy players react slower to controls. I recall this was tested by Swos and it was proven in goalies at least in frame by frame test, works the same for players. A player of 6 weight 4/4 speed feels much more responsive than a player of 7 weight 4/4 speed. There is a huge difference with Oates-Juneau (my classic team, Juneau 5/4/4/) connection compared to Oates-Larmer (my GDL team, Larmer 7/4/4)
  8. 1. Players like Bondra (4agi, 6 speed) are hard to handle and deking is almost impossible, they need a breakaway passes and go from there. I prefer agility over speed, but can deal with someone like Hogue 5 speed, 4 agility well enough. Even with the cost of agility on one player I would prefer to have at least one 5 speed guy on the team. 2. Both are ideal and stickhandling helps you against b-checks and hold on to your puck against guys with good defensive awareness. Agility helps you go around the offensive area and great for D as well to adjust your positioning. 3. I like shotpower to the skill of 4 above accuracy, then when shotpower 4 I would go for accuracy. Shotpower 4 gives you more range and 3 is mostly limited to short range onetimers. So I would take a shot of 4/3 always above a shot of 3/4, I will take a 4/4 or even 4/3 over 3/5, but a shot of 4/5 instead of 5/4. Former is shotpower and later accuracy. 4. wbfixed leagues stickhandling for a heavy guy is a great treat. It will be so hard to take the puck away or check the heavy guys who have a stick of 5+. But you cannot win with a slow team either, so skating is important and skating skill correlates in GDL winning teams as well. No team without speed 5+ has won it in several seasons (since the early seasons).
  9. I have almost completed my classic regular season and GDL is over for me so I'll be having plenty of free time ahead. I know I am not too keen about weight bug fixed leagues, but I enjoyed fantasy tournament with it, which had a faster pace and there are many fast players in this rom. I would be willing to give this a go and get in. If the team values are as they stand of now, I would like to have Minnesota. If they can be adjusted to your liking or will be reset to a certain value for all teams, I'll take Florida. I also would have some feedback on a few player attributes, of players I've followed more for some time, but no need to go there, creating the rom and league is respected enough, but if you want some feedback, I'll provide it.
  10. In NHL95 (based on NHL Hockey, which is based on a mixture of NHL93/NHL94 on Sega) the faceoff skill plays no part in winning faceoffs. This is at least true in AI players verified in multiple NHL95 manager leagues. I know there is no such skill in NHL94 Sega, but it could be random too. You can win a faceoff without pressing the putton too, just tested this vs AI. Edit. I actually won 3 faceoffs in a row without pressing the button.
  11. I'm adding my. I'm not accustomed with the NA odds so it's just pulled out of the hat. What we'd have for AJ would be somewhere maybe 3.20, which means you if you put in 10$ you get back 32$. And for Plabax like 3.50 etc. Los Angeles (AJ) +425 - Still being the favourite New Jersey (Plabax) +450 - Cruise speeding a solid record in the regular season, will add another gear playoffs Boston (Depch) +650 - Juneau on fire and playing with a better team than is accustomed to Quebec (Seth) +650 - Team is clicking well under Seth control Toronto (Ice) +675 - Solid defence and has a good counter offence to go along with it, hard to play against Pittsburgh (Raph) +850 - That weight and lack of speed makes it hard for Raph, totally not what he is accustomed with Detroit (Sic) +900 - Best team in the game and Sic can play a solid game, cannot underestimate this combination Dallas (Zalex) +1000 - Expected more of a punch from Dallas, but plenty of time for Zalex to get used to that speed and team Vancouver (EA) +1000 - I have no experience of playing EA, but he is a vet with a top tier team NY Rangers (Zeppelin) +1050 - Doing good when he gets Gartner going, but seems to be really inconsistent with the team and struggling with defence Edmonton (Habs) +1250 - Looks like Klima can't carry the team with Habs as well as expected, but still plenty of time to make it click and surprise in playoffs Philadelphia (VC) +1500 - Like Raph predicted, the defence is leaking with one of the highest GAA 4.67 Calgary (Lupz) +1700 - The record is mostly due to Sebe at the moment who played NJ & Bos who are rolling, I can see Lupz increase this record and fight for the playoffs Buffalo (Brutus) +1750 - Struggling with Buffalo, but has time to figure out the chemistry problems for the first playoff round and go for the underdog win Montreal (Smozoma) +2000 - Not much data to input here, but great team chemistry and a vet playing with it. I think the team pick was overvalued, but we'll see. Most likely fighting for the last playoff spots. Chicago (Evan) +3000 - He played well against me, but looks like consistency in A will have to come in upcoming seasons, not making the playoffs this season
  12. 7-10 CST is like 3 am to 6 am for me. Some days I might wake up early to make that 9-10 CST. Weekends I'm usually available most of the time, especially sundays. 2 am CST to 4 pm CST should work. Occasionally I play out of those times too if I can't sleep etc.
  13. I think many people are underestimating Eklund here then, what is there not to like as a winger? Combined with Recchi it just makes a very good skating offence. Outside of the top teams not many teams can field 2 low weight 5/4 skaters. Offence has the biggest impact on a team and their offence is very solid and above many teams in B. The D with Yuskevich and Hawgood provides a good mobile defence as well and Söderström one of the top goalies in the game. I like it a lot.
  14. I think Tampa should be in the D tier, it's just Bradley on the team. The rest are awfull, no support at all. There is a clear difference in the players to the other ones in C category, they at least have some tools other than just 1 player. It's a lot closer to SJ than any of the C tier teams. San Jose at least has decent speed and few ok D-men. I can agree with the rest, but just a mention I myself do like Vancouver more than the Rangers.
