That Al Iafrate moment just took me back 20 plus years to playing '93 with my brother in one of our long standing most favorite replays of all time. I had Scott Stevens going end to end as time expired, crashing in on the net in Mad Stevens fashion and Belfour bailed out to the right as they did in '93, and I let fire the game winner only to watch this slow, slow poofter float over the boards from point blank range, just like that Big Al shot there! That really took me back! Great replay. Obvious cold streak!!!

I think the general gist is covered though, although if someone is able to do a better job, that would be great. And, when I say harassment, it would be meant in fun. Most of us Americans I know & hang around, usually beat on each other when someone causes delays, for any reason. Friend or foe. It's just human nature these days to hurry up & wait!

Maybe it's a French thing , but my comments were unrelated to Pearate as a player/person, but more of not playing games in general under the guise of being sick. Not saying you weren't sick, or that you didn't unfairly wait a long time, but surely if you are gonna take over a week long to sit out because you are sick, you would expect some harassment for it? Again, maybe that's an American/Canadian culture type thing. Probably made more sensitive by the existence of Tk and his additional ribbing, but most of us check post play. I play in several league for several years, and I have always respected the timetable, and especially the fairplay. Only i realized that some players are the regular season and at the time of the playoffs, they disappear then that this is the best time of the season. For my part I always played my games of the playoffs as soon as possible, then that of recurring manner, some players put 2, 3 see 4 weeks to make the first turn. This is all the more embarrassing that after 3 or 4 weeks, there is more of everything in the game ... And at the time or these players reappear, i should suddenly be available because there is a so-called emergency and that other players are waiting to start the next season of GDL. I would point out that I am sick since a week and that I expect fair to recover to be able to play the series in good conditions. And here I am criticized and i am treated as a small player, and i mean more, that we can very well play by being sick. It is anything! Who played with fever or with an evil of skull? Person, there is no pleasure there, as much declare package. And I would point out that this situation would never arrival if there had of sanctions with a true respect for dates for the players: more than 4 weeks for a first round of playoffs! That would remove the time pressure on one of the longest lingering leagues of all time (feels bad for kupuck for expanded his original niche group coach Mac style w/ all games played into elite style w/ dnps & the forever drama).

I had to wait a month plus in blitz & tdl scrub because of hokkee, so I get how aggravating it is to wait. I don't believe it's relevant unless you were so aggravated you are now intentionally making him wait on purpose, which is the way it appears to me. And I jumped in cause I'm bored because I can't play Gdl!!!! That said, my words were edited so I can't see what I wrote. I thought I used gay, which in this instance should not be taken to mean much more than lame. If I used fag or stronger language, then I'd understand. But I can't remember what I typed. & it was edited. Anyhow, as I suggested to ice, just sim games to advance the site & let ice/perate play their games outside the site & post on the forum the results. Playoff stats don't matter cause games played aren't even.

Yeah I was exi'ing w/ Seth & he kept checking his lines (this is on top of his constant spazzing editing of his line changes), and I told him he's a total tard because they aren't accurate. To which he replied he noticed if the overall of his guys were higher, they usually had rockets for shots. That got me checking & I noticed it was actually showing real changes & I got digging through smoz's post, which lead to Depch's grand voyage of discovery and the eventual return of lord smoz. Thanks again smoz!!

So we were playing w/ classic & accurate edit lines. No one was desynxhing but no one was checking.

Yeah, I never asked but always assumed it was a pass shot, as I've NEVER seen guys who don't use pass shots get this goal on me. It normally comes on semi or full break-aways with a guy skating center in, and you have to try to defend both sides, and think you've got an angle and then, back hand during the juking of left/right, and WHAM!, the speed shot guys by my goalie.

To be clear, Depch is using these terms when discussing Option 1-5. Smoz created a "hack" that enables you to change the way HOT/COLD streaks are handled differently from the original game. I'm not sure everyone is aware that the original game had hot/cold streaks that were displayed inaccurately (the in game ratings, pre-game ratings & Ron Barr comments were always 100% inaccurate), but they were, and that's why back in 2010, Smoz created a program to offer different options. I'm also thinking not everyone is aware of Smoz's hacks and that's why there is/was limited response to this thread. They offer 5 different versions Smoz offers in his hack to handle the way Hot/Cold streaks can be used. I just think once people realize there are 5 options that as a league, one of them should be decided which is used, it becomes more clear to those reading your post. All excellent points by you, btw. I prefer the "Classic" version for this league, except the ratings are either accurately displayed or not displayed at all. To inaccurately display them as in the original to me is just stupid.

Phishing through some of the forums here & there, I see comments about changes to ROM's, like the speed burst & it's hex value. We also find that the previous seasons have been played with some differing hacks applied, etc. (minus home/away team bonus's which are understandably supposed to be removed so you don't have an advantage choosing Chicago as your GDL team over NY Islanders). I think it would be very prudent if the ROM we use for GDL is Classic Rom, unless the commish speaks out on using one with hacks, and check into not having any previous add/deletions.

After each game, is there a "Save State" available that could be uploaded correctly into the nhl94.com?? (for the leagues that have playoffs on the site and track the playoff stats, etc) Also, on the GDL Tourney, if someone wanted to edit Rom 17 from Skip for these playoffs, we could use it as a further experiment since that Tourney is on google docs only.

First off, I'm not so sure I agree w/ your waiting list. There needs to be an A waiting list and a B waiting list imo, as they are having a hard time getting A guys to play. Second off, Hokkee is a long time member of Blitz, and announced he had to temporarily leave the site/game/league, and I played his games out for him, so it's not like you had a guy take over and is expecting his team now. Someone who already had a team, has his own team, finished the season w/ no DNP's with the sole purpose of allowing the guy to keep his squad. And no one said Hokkee was losing his team anyway when I posted this, spoke of this, etc. And finally, I think the guys in A should be the ones who make rulings when one of their "slots" goes open, but hey, I'm not the commish, so what I say doesn't matter. Then again, neither is Robbie

Well, I went on vacation and then was sick for a week, so it's not working out well at all!!! Plus, all the trades that kept going back & forth (including mine), made it difficult to grade out. I was trying to get it out in ONE release, so it's on my labtop, with the non-active traders & some of the non-exi guys teams done. I didn't want to release it in pieces. 24 teams will take me a "minute" to type that all up w/ a small paragraph per team.
